The Clutter Murder
On November 15, 1959, the Clutter family was found murdered in their home in Holcomb, Kansas.
Richard Eugene Hickock and Perry Edward Smith were arrested for murdering the family of four
six weeks after the crime was committed. During my research, I found that prior to the murder,
Hickock and Smith were both in jail when a fellow prisoner, Floyd Wells, told Hickock about Mr.
Clutter and the amount of cash he had stashed in a safe in his house. Hickock contacted Smith and
convinced him to commit the robbery with him and start a new life in Mexico with the money. The
two drove to Kansas and entered the house while the family was sleeping. The funny thing was,
Hickock and Smith were unable to locate the safe. It was not in the place that Wells

A Murder Guilt: The Classical Examples Of A Murdered Room...
A DIRTY MATTER
Isidor Fisk's death is the classical example of a locked room murder. He was the owner of a laundry
in New York.
Fisk was there that evening, ironing something and the door and the windows were close due to the
fact that the neighborhood he was in was not a good one.
When the police arrived, because a neighbor heard some screams, they found them all closed, no
one could have entered or left.
To enter the room the policeman had to lift a boy and fit him through a transom.
When the boy unlocked the door, Fisk was on the floor, dead, with two bullets in his chest and one
in his wrist.
The suicide theories were almost immediately rejected because the gun was not founded and surely
it was not a robbery due to the fact that there ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During one of his shows, he insulted the rival gang, Hip Sing Tong. The Hip Sing perceived that as
an insult to their honor and declared a death sentence onto Ah Hoon. They even announced the day
he'll be killed, on December 30. The gang he was in, put him under the protection of a police
sergeant and two patrolmen and even member of the gang stood on guard. That, unfortunately for
Hoon, was not enough. The following day he was found dead in his bed with a bullet in the head.
Initially, the police were confused due to the fact that the only window of the house was facing a
bank wall, across a courtyard. Later they found out that a Hip Sing hatchet man had been lowered on
a chair from the roof and shot Ah Hoon with a silenced

What Is The Journey To The Murder Of Drr. Orwell's Murder?
I walked into the huge mansion unaware of what event would happen that night. When I walked in,
there was a ballroom to the right and a conservatory to my left. As I walked to the dining room, I
saw a kitchen, when I got there I ate and laid down on the couch. When I got up I went to the
kitchen where I found Mr. Boddy dead on the floor with a gash on his head and a candle stick beside
him. I then warned the others that Mr. Boddy was murdered when I told them everyone but Mrs.
Peacock was shocked.
I then said ¨One of the people among us was a killer or someone else was in the house.¨
We then split up Col. Mustard and I, miss Scarlet and Mrs. Peacock, and Prof. Plum went by himself
because Dr. Orchid was not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I unlocked the door and waited, I could hear miss Scarlet on one side and Mrs. Peacock on the other.
I unlocked the door with the trap, but kept the other locked. When Mrs. peacock opened the door,
she stepped in my trap and got hung by her feet. When that happened, she let go of her gun so I
picked it up and shut the door back and locked it. Miss Scarlet was hitting the door knob with a
wrench. I then decided to run out the other door and hid in the dining room with my pistol at the
ready.
I locked the door and called the cops, but when I hung the phone up the lights went out and miss
Scarlet started banging on the door. One of the cops got in the house, but miss Scarlet murdered him
and took away his gun. She shot the lock off the door and I ran out the other door. I knew I would
have to fight my way out. I was on my way to the library with miss Scarlet hot on my tail. I fell to
the ground and miss Scarlet tried to shoot, but when she pulled the trigger the gun went click. She
was out of ammo I took the opportunity and shot her and ran to the cops with a cut and a bruise on
my face I sprinted to the police department and told them the story. The head police followed me
back when we got there we could not find miss Scarlet, but we found a blood trail, I must have hit
her in the leg.
We went to the ballroom where I set the trap but the trap was cut down and Mrs. Peacock was gone.

What is murder? Murder is killing of another human being under conditions specifically covered in
law as you can see in doc. A. Can it be civilized? Is all murder the same? I think it can be civilized
and not all murder is the same, but it also can be uncivilized. Was the Marshall Murdered that was in
lost? Yes and no because it was voluntary manslaughter because it was done in the heat of the
moment, doc. C "when the plane crashed the U.S. Marshal Edwards Mars was injured badly. There
was a piece of shrapnel stuck in him and Jack the doctor decided to remove it so that he might heal
up and get back to normal. But it caused him to get worse because the lack of supplies that were on
the Island. Also the other people that were on the land were getting mad because he was wasting all
the medicine on a dead man. The Marshal was begging to die but Jack wouldn't give up so Sawyer
decided to shoot him in the chest to kill him, but it just made the suffering worse. So Jack went in
the tent and strangled him to end his suffering." The reason why i think that it was civilized is
because it was hurting the others the person as you can see in doc. B it says "to manage control" is
definition of civilized and that's all that they were trying to do . Jack is innocent even though he
killed the Marshal he just did it because the Marshal was suffering badly. ... Show more content on

Away With Murder
How to Get Away with Murder has a multitude of elements that come into play throughout the
series. The series follows a group of law students being mentored by Annalise Keating, a prominent
defense attorney. The group deal with multiple deaths, usually caused by them, by using anything
ranging from their knowledge of the law to hired hitmen to get their way. The repeated theme in the
series exposes the harsh reality of how the local government and the people within are corrupt. A
conscienceless society is a major concept that shapes each character's narcissistic frame of mind
where they will do anything to achieve their own personal goals. Even with all the murders and
deceit, in the end each character seems to accomplish part of their mission. ... Show more content on

This episode really highlights the element s of how corrupt other can be due to how easily the
hospital staff was bribed to forge false medical documents. This just goes to show corruption can
transcend the real of law and move into other aspects, such as medicine. The students show how
much they have become desensitized by being unsympathetic toward the shooting they were
involved in. They even go as far as plotting to kill the victim after finding out he is still alive. The
students only show concern for themselves and the people within their group. Oliver Hampton is the
only character to openly express sympathy for the victims. He seems to be a personified version of
the other characters' conscience. Early in the series he is not as prevalent because the students have
not been introduced to their life of lies, but as the series goes on and the students begin to lose
emotion toward their actions, he comes more of a constant figure to add more empathy. Oliver's
constant reminder of how the group's actions have affected others is what keeps them from basically

events that led up to the birth, that is the stabbing of the mother by her mother's boyfriend when she

Murder Conventions
In the film Memories of Murder, director Bong Joon–ho utilizes a few different generic tropes rather
than just staying in one specific genre. To me, the two most obvious genres that he borrows from in
this film are crime and drama, but it has elements of comedy as well. The most prevalent genre in
my opinion is the crime genre. The story revolves around detectives, investigating a serial killer who
rapes and murders women. The entire plotline is clearly within the genre of crime, and I would say
the only subversion from this trope is that there is no resolve. Although the viewer thinks that they
have caught the killer, they do not have enough evidence to convict, and so they have to let him go.
The killer is never caught, and usually in crime ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Later in the film the song comes on the radio, and when the detectives check outside, it has started
raining. They try to call for backup to search the grounds near where the other bodies were found,
but all backup is busy. This is not only extremely dramatic, but also keeps with the crime drama as
well because all of the other police are occupied already. The darkness that comes with utilizing
tropes such as these is counteracted by Boon Jong–ho's use of comedy. Throughout the film there is
slight play on the good cop/bad cop trope seen in so many crime dramas. The "bad cop" does
nothing but drop kick and beat suspects, until his kicking leg gets infected with tetanus and must be
amputated. Although this sounds like a serious moment, because of the situations the character is
seen in (almost all just getting into physical altercations) makes the moment humorous, because he
will no longer be able to perform his favorite activity. Although Memories of Murder is clearly both
a drama and a crime film, the director's use of comedy along with the subversion of the original
genres helps to offset the dark themes slightly, making the film more unique and

What is a mass murder? According to the FBI "mass murder was described as a number of murders

Serial Murder And Mass Murder
Before we can take on the definitions of serial murder and mass murder, we must first understand
what exactly constitutes murder. According to the United States Code–section 1111, murder is
defined as the unlawful killing of a human being with malice aforethought (4). With that said,
according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the term serial murder implies that there are at
least three different murder events at three different locations, with a "cooling off" period between
each event (Ramsland, 2009). Individuals who perpetrate the crime of serial murder are referred to
as serial killers. The term "serial killer" was coined in the mid–1970s by Robert Ressler, the former
director of the FBI 's Violent Criminal Apprehension Program. He chose the name "serial killer"
because authorities in England called these types of murders "crimes in a series" (Freeman, 2007).
John Wayne Gacy, known as the "Killer Clown," who tortured, raped and murdered 33 men between
1972 and 1978 is an example of a serial killer. On the other hand, mass murder is defined as four or
more murders occurring during a particular event with no cooling–off period between the murders.
A mass murder typically occurs in a single location in which a number of victims are killed by an
individual (2). An example of a mass murder would be the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing
perpetrated by Timothy McVeigh, in which 168 people were killed. While serial murder has a
definition that contains certain

Assess The Causes Of Murder
Murder is an act of taking one's life unlawfully for own benefits (Pine, 2016). Such behaviours have
to be severely reprimanded. However, there are a few causes of murder which need to be considered
by the community – insanity, self–defence and imperfect legal system.
First of all, some people murder simply because they go insane. Parry and Moyes (2013) said that
there were actually 1216 victims who got killed by the people with mental illness from 2001 to 2010
in the United Kingdom. Some of the murderers were suffering from mental disorders; so, they could
not control themselves on what they are doing or what they are going to do. There was a 60–year–
old man who shot dead his neighbour. Two consultant forensic psychiatrists provided evidences
which had proven the man was suffering from mental illness; thus, he was unable to control himself
from his actions (O'Riordan, 2016). Moreover, it is difficult to understand the causes of a child who
murdered his or her parents, the one who brings them up; however, insanity might be one of the
reasons that contributed to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are some murderers had been released from the prison, and this is undoubtedly giving them
chances to commit murder again. Five murderers were released from the prison despite getting life
sentences, and they committed murder again within the weeks of being freed from the jail
(Robinson, 2013). Then, it is somehow encouraging people to commit a crime provided they are
careful enough and without leaving any strong evidence after committing a crime for allowing the
judge sentenced them to the prison. A 46–year–old man had been killed, and the two suspects were
released from jail without any charge due to lack of evidence (Robinson, 2016). A legal system
plays an important role in maintaining social order, but it consists of loopholes, which enable some
law–breakers escape from bearing the legal responsibilities after committing a

Euthanasia is Murder Essay
Euthanasia is the Greek word meaning "good death". Euthanasia is the act of assisting in ending
one's life, killing a person or an animal in a painless or minimally painful way.
There are 3 different types of euthanasia. Volantary – which means that the doctor, or whoever
performed the assisted death got full permission from the patient to kill them. Nonvolantary –
without full consent of the patient or if the patient did give them their full consent, they weren't fully
decisionally–competent. And Involantary – this is when the person is killed against their will, they
refuse to die but they are still killed. This Is murder!

The two separarate parts of murder: Actus reus (Latin term for "guilty act"(based on evidence)) and
Mens rea (Latin term for "guilty mind"(intension)). Both these are needed to convict someone of
murder. There is also manslaughter (which is just actus reus) which some euthanasia cases end up
being. Euthansia, whether conducted a hostpital or a home, still falls under murder with both, Actus
reus and Mens rea obviously present.
If we changed our laws so that euthanasia was legal, every murderer could say they were carrying
out euthanasia. If we bring back euthanasia we should also bring back the death penalty. Euthanasia
is just murder with a different name, it's the same, except they blame it on a dead person.
It should be a law that you have to write a will once you reach a certain age when you are most
likely to know what you want done with your belongings, once you are gone. In the future if you get
damaged (mentally or physically), your belongings will go to the appropriate place.
Euthanasia should and will hopefully be charged as murder in all cases. There is no exception for
killing anyone even if they say they want to be killed. Nowdays it is very easy to forge anything

The Theme Of Murder In Macbeth
Shakespearean Murder Blood, death, and violence; these are just a few words that go along with a
way of death known as murder. It's one of the more common ways of dying and is frequently seen
on the news and social media. As such, people always seems to take an interest in this topic. There's
a mysterious attraction to the subject of murder, whether in a mystery book, on television shows, or
simply mentioned in a news article. What makes a death murder, though? Murder, as defined by
Oxford Dictionaries, is "the unlawful premeditated killing of one human being by another." Many
simply define it as "taking someone else's life.' In Macbeth, William Shakespeare illustrates the
many forms of murder and establishes how it is wrong. One of the more interesting parts of this way
of death is the motive, or reason, people choose to murder one another. The actual interest itself lies
in the main four reasons for murder; to gain power, exact revenge, dispose of any opposition or
witnesses, and sometimes for sheer pleasure. In Macbeth, Shakespeare clearly illustrates ... Show

There are many ways to kill people, whether intentional or accidental. In Macbeth, Shakespeare
showed a couple ways by having Macbeth kill King Duncan with a dagger in Scene II, line V, "I
have done the deed. Didst thou hear a noise?" (Act II, Scene II, Line 14) and the others he executed
or had murdered by murderers like Macduff's family, "He has killed me mother. Run away, I pray
you!" (Act IV, Scene II, Line 80). Many other ways can be shown in the real world. Such as killing
people by poisoning, drowning, suffocation, and assisted suicide. These are typically used by real
life people though commonly used by rapist, serial killers, murders, and the mentally insane.
Although you can use other ways to murder people, for some it is a matter of pleasure or even just

Murder In The Media
The way the media sensationalizes murder has changed greatly since the death of Queen Victoria in
the early 20th century. However, the public's fascination with murder is still as strong as ever. The
infamous cases and trials of Case Anthony, OJ Simpson, and Amanda Knox captivated a world and
resulted in the commercial appeal of true crime. The commercialization of what society openly
proclaims as criminal begs for a curtail question to be asked. What makes this Victorian cultural trait
thrive in today society while other culture traits died out? Television and the internet are two
technological advances that have sustained the public's fascination with murder. Both of these
sources allow for a shift from a written format to visual display. Unlike the pre Victorian pastime of
murder sightseeing and the Victorian written format, television and the internet allow a merge of the
tow to accrue. A person can see the brutality of murder but still stay distanced at the same time,
adding in it appeal. Understanding why modern cultural embraces Storys of true crime is crucial in
understanding why the Victorians did the same. Scott Boons a professor of ... Show more content on

Difference Between Murder And Second Degree Murder
First–degree murder is defined as the killing of someone which is deliberate and premeditated.
Premeditated means to plan the killing such as waiting for the person to return home to kill them or
to poison them.
The difference between first–degree murder and second–degree murder is very simple. First–degree
murder is a planned killing. For instants, Victoria comes home and finds her husband in bed with
Shelly. A few days later, Victoria breaks into Shelly house and stabs her to death for sleeping with
her husband. Victoria started to plan Shelly's murder once she walked on her husband cheating on
her with Shelly. Second–degree murder, however, is different. An intentional killing that is not

Necrophilia Murder
Necrophilia and its Relation to Murder Necrophilia is defined as, recurrent sexually arousing
fantasies, sexual urges, or behaviors involving intercourse with dead bodies (Colman, 2009)
Necrophilia in the past has been something that presented itself as an opportunity because of where
someone worked. Professions that had people dealing with corpses on a daily basis lead to a form of
comfort around the bodies, then when a person became curious they would start to experiment with
the bodies. There are rumors that this was popular with the embalmers of ancient Egypt and that it
became necessary that the bodies of highly born women were not embalmed immediately after death

Macbeth: The Guilt Of Murder
Helina Behailu English 102 Professor Jodie September 7, 2015 Murder is the killing of another
person without any justification or valid excuse. Being a murderer is not something you are born
with. When it comes to murder, one has to go through something in their life that helped them to
make the decision of being a murderer. Murderousness, having a purpose or capability of murder.
When one is given the capability of being able to murder someone, this can become very dangerous.
Murder or thinking of murdering someone is something that can play tricks on one's mind. Killing
someone is a huge task to carry on and if one is willing to kill someone with knowing the
consequences, there is a deeper meaning to it. In the play MacBeth, author ... Show more content on

Scene 5.) In these words, one would realize that Macbeth is changing. He's committed so many
crimes, killed many innocent people, and no longer feels any remorse. Macbeth's ambition and need
for power takes control of his mind and emotions. After everything that has happened, Macbeth
could have redeemed himself. He still had the ability to change his attitude; however, he does not.
Macbeth loses hope and decides to let his emotions take control of his doing the right thing. His
mind has been poisoned. Throughout the play you can see the evolution of Macbeth because after
the witches gave him a glimpse of what his future could look like he changed his ways. He went
from being a great leader and towards the end his ambition for power took over him. "My thought,

The Crime Of Serial Murder And Mass Murder
Rotten Apples
The act of Serial murder and mass murder have similar characteristics, however they are not the
same. Before they can be defined, it is necessary to first understand what exactly constitutes murder.
According to the United States Code–section 1111, murder is defined as the unlawful killing of a
human being with malice aforethought (FindLaw, 2014). With that said, according to the Federal
Bureau of Investigation, "the term serial murder implies that there are at least three different murder
events at three different locations, with a "cooling off" period between each event" (Ramsland,
2009). Individuals who perpetrate the crime of serial murder are referred to as serial killers. The
term "serial killer" was coined in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While serial murder has a definition that contains certain specific characteristics, there is no generic
profile of a serial murderer. According to the FBI, each serial killer is individualized by their
motivations for killing, method of operation, and behavior at the crime scene. However, lack of
remorse or guilt, impulsivity, predatory behavior, the need for control, and sensation seeking are all
common traits to most serial killers (Federal, 2005). Modus Operandi, commonly known as MO, is
also a characteristic that may individualize one serial killer from another. The MO reflects what
actions the killer performed to commit the crime in question. This includes everything from the ruse
used to lure, type of restraint used, to the way that the killer actually consummates the murder. A
serial killer's MO can change, as he learns from his past mistakes and improves his tradecraft. On
the other hand, a Signature is a discernable regularity that occurs at each crime scene event that can
link a particular homicide to others. According to FBI profiler John Douglas, a signature, "is a ritual,
something the subject does intentionally for emotional satisfaction –– something that isn't necessary
to perpetuate the crime" (John Douglas in Freeman, 2014). Some serial killers pose their victims in a
certain way or leave them in a particular location after consummating the murder. Another form of
signature may be the technique employed to

Outside the town of Shelby Township, Indiana was a woman's body lying in the woods of a wildlife
refuge. The body was stumbled across by a wildlife refuge worker on September 6, 2010. It was
covered in dirt and leaves when found on site. The victim was covered with 3rd degree burns
leaving very little room to determine the ethnicity. The hands and feet were shown to be missing and
the tibia, pelvis, skull, humerus, and ribs were retrieved. The hands and feet were never found but a
knife was left with no blood or fingerprints left on the knife. This was believed to be a murder case
considering the hands and feet were chopped off in an unnatural way. The victim was found to be

The measurements of the found Tibia and Humerus, perfectly matched the estimated traits.
The ethnicity of this individual was determined, very thoroughly, through a series of observations
and tests regarding the skull, and nasal cavity. The patient is concluded to be of African American
ancestry based on the percentage of results that match up with certain African American ethnicity
structural traits, such as, the shape of orbital openings and their nasal index. The nasal index of an
the victim was calculated to be 0.85mm and the normal expectations of African American ethnicity
(>.53) point straight the conclusion that the victim is of African American heritage. The height of an
individual is most often determined by the examination of the long bones, such as the femur and
tibia. In order to determine the height of this victim, measurements of the Tibia and Humerus were
collected, each were then calculated to form an approximated height. For a female of african
american background, the tibia was 35 cm long and calculated a height around 5 feet. After
measuring the length of the recovered humerus (29 cm), using a specific formula, the approximate
height, for this skeleton, is about 4'8" to around 5'3".

Memories Of Murder
Why the isn't the case solved in memories of murder
The movie memories of murder takes a unique take on a mystery movie where the case is never
solved even though it could have been easily solved due to a plot point in the story. There are some
other reasons behind the decision to not solve the case one of them being that this movie was based
off a true ,story korea's first serial killer witch was made not to long after the original case. this case
was never solved so it's only fair that the movie was as well, and because of this the director could
do some interesting takes on some scenes that he couldn't do otherwise. First off the mystery could
have been solved at the very beginning the detectives found a witness of the killer but because they
interrogate the witness and beat a confession out of him they learned nothing about who the true
killer is. This was done to show as a detective you don't you want to find the killer but you don't
want to get a fake confession. This was a very common practice by cops at the time to beat suspects
and a recurring theme with all the other suspects in the film. Arrested beat until they confessed then
evidence appears that proves them innocent. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Modern Law Of Murder
The modern law of murder developed over many centuries from the English common law of
homicide. Homicide is simply defined as the killing of another person. Before the 1500's, common
law judges categorized homicide into two broad categories known as, criminal and noncriminal
homicides (Samaha, 2013). Over the next five decades, a number of newly developed statutes were
established and further divided criminal and noncriminal homicide. Criminal homicide included
murder and manslaughter, while noncriminal homicide was divided into justifiable and excusable
homicide (Samaha, 2013). By the 1700's, three types of homicides were firmly embraced by English
common law and the American Colonies. The three categories according ... Show more content on

Murder, under common law, is the unlawful killing of another person in existence with malice
aforethought (Bower, 2014). In other words, an individual had to have a clear criminal intent with
some amount of spite, hate, or bad will to commit the killing before the murder occurred and had to
be planned in advance (Samaha, 2013). To illustrate, during the 1550's, English homicide statutes
outlined activities such as poisoning or lying in wait as examples of preplanned murders. However,
while murder was initially only thought of as an intentional and premeditated act, over time judges
saw the need to develop new classifications of murders that didn't fit the standard definition. First,
sudden killings that were intentional, but not premeditated were added. These types of murder were
often completed during a heat of passion moment and were unreasonably provoked by the victim's
actions (Samaha, 2013). However, unreasonably provoked means that the victim's actions were not
substantial enough to justify the actions of the attacker. Secondly, judges added unintentional
killings that were completed during a felony (Samaha, 2013). While most murders require intent to
cause death, under this law, any homicide committed during the commission of a felony, regardless
of whether it's intentional or accidental will constitute as murder. Third, extremely reckless killings
were classified as depraved heart

Murder in All Its Forms
Murder: And all its forms Throughout the criminal justice system, news, and in many other
situations the term "murder" is used quite frequently however usually incorrectly. Some people say
animals or even trees get murdered, but under the law it is not murder unless a human takes the life
of another human. Homicide is a lawful term for any killing of a human being by another human
being. Homicide itself is not automatically a crime, some homicides are legal, such as the justifiable
killing of a suspect by the police or a killing in self–defense. Unlawful homicides are classified as
crimes like murder and manslaughter. This paper will explain the important but often overlooked
distinctions between murder and manslaughter, and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The defendant could be convicted of 2nd degree murder. Depraved heart murders are unintentional
but extremely reckless murders. For example, playing with a loaded gun and pointing the gun at
another for fun is extremely reckless behavior. If the gun went off and killed another the defendant
was pointing at it could constitute as a 2nd degree murder charge under the depraved heart murder
standard. Manslaughter is the unlawful killing of another human by a human that does not involve
malice aforethought. The absence of malice aforethought means that manslaughter involves less
moral blame than either first or second degree murder. While manslaughter is a serious crime, the
punishment for it is generally less than that for murder. There are two main classes or degrees that
manslaughter falls under. Those are voluntary and involuntary manslaughter. Voluntary
manslaughter is often what is referred to as a "heat of passion" crime. Voluntary manslaughter
occurs when a person is strongly provoked under circumstances that could provoke a reasonable and
rationale person, and kills in the "heat of passion" aroused by that baiting. An example of this would
be where a husband comes home to find his wife committing adultery. The act provokes the husband
to enter such a heat of rage in that moment that he kills the other man right then and

Murders in California
In the state of California, according to the CAL. PEN. CODE § 187, there are three types of murders
that involve having an intention to kill. They are as listed: premeditated murder, second–degree
murder malice aforethought, and murder as a result of provocation. Murder as a result of
provocation is one who states a mental incapacity for either the time being, such as; blacking out, or
they had temporary loss of control of oneself and could not control it. This is only seen though
through murder cases for it to end up being a lesser charge. Second–degree murder malice
aforethought is a non–premeditated killing of a victim who cannot be fully proven there was the full
reasoning of the death. This is also known as having some sort of intent or recklessness.(Cal. Penal
Code § 187 [West 1996]). Premeditated murder is someone who sat down and thought the murder
through and went along with it, also known as first–degree murder. So with all that being said, in the
scenario about a victim of a DUI accident who had religious beliefs about blood transfusion died
from bleeding out too much in California. The drunken driver was on probation for a previous DUI
he has received, and because of him driving drunk, caused him to be impaired which caused him to

Definition Of Murder
Every kid grows up being told what is right and what is wrong. Do not take the other kids toys that
is bad. Share your snack that is good. The idea of bad feels elementary; it is something we have been
surrounded by our whole life. However, the term might not be so easily defined.
Murder is considered unmoral in nearly every culture, however every culture sends people to war.
Murder is the act of taking another life, but is defined loosely. Soldiers are not considered murders,
and rightfully so, even though they take lives. Instead of changing the ideas surrounding murder the
definition of murder is changed. What was once considered a violent, cruel act is now seen as
heroism. The circumstances that surround the act define the act itself.

The Murders in Fall River
On August 4, 1892 at 92 Second Street in Fall River Massachusetts, stepmom Abby and father,
Andrew Borden were slaughtered by an axe in their home ("The Trial of Lizzie Borden"). Lizzie's
biological mother died in 1862, and her father Andrew remarried the spinstress, Abby Durfee Gray.
Since it was a stepmother to be murdered, it raised the question as to if Lizzie really liked her
stepmother. Abby's body was in the guest room, murdered an hour before Andrew, who was on a

she was pronounced innocent. What really happened will remain a mystery because someone's word

Three days later, on August 9th, Lizzie started to be questioned in the courtroom over police
headquarters. During the first four hours of the examination Lizzie gave confusing and contradicting
information pertaining to where she was and what she was doing. Two days later, on August 11th,
Lizzie was read her rights and arrested by Chief Hillard for the murder of her parents. The following
day Lizzie made a plea of not guilty to the charges against her before being transported by rail car to
a jail located in Taunton, an area located eight miles from Fall River. August 22nd Lizzie was
returned to the Fall River courtroom for her preliminary hearing, after a criminal complaint has been
filed by the prosecutor, next is to determine whether there is enough evidence to require a trial. At
the end of the hearing, Judge Josiah Blaisdell pronounced Lizzie as 'probably guilty' and ordered her
to face a grand jury. From November 15th to the 21st Lizzie faced the grand jury to plead not guilty.
It wasn't until December first, that a testimony was made against Lizzie by a friend of the families.
Alex Russell appeared before the grand jury to make his statement about the blue dress he saw
Lizzie burn. Lizzie responded with the fact that the dress was covered in old paint. The question
then is, why was she burning it the day of the murders? The statement from Russell matched with an
earlier testimony made by Bridget, she claimed Lizzie was wearing a blue dress the morning of the
murders. Since both testimonies matched, it was enough evidence to convince the jury to indict,
formally accuse of or charge with a serious crime, Lizzie for the murder of her parents. On June 5th,
1893 Andrew Jennings and George Robinson represented the defendant while Knowlton and
Thomas Moody argued the case of the prosecution. Moody opened the case with a two hour long

Effects Of Murder In Macbeth
Murder is a damaging act to one's mind. After committing/assisting in a murder, the mind is
changed, and changes the overall person as well. These changes are different in all situations. They
depend on the level of involvement, what the person is like before, and how violent the actual
murder is. The most impactful element, however, is the violence of the murder. For example,
Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were described by Shakespeare both before and after the murder. This
helps readers to understand the characters' mindsets and how the event has shaped them. One of the
best examples of murder's influence on the mind comes from Shakespeare's play Macbeth. Before
committing any murder, Macbeth was lighthearted and not at all serious. Even ... Show more

One of the most active parts of the brain during a murder is the orbitofrontal cortex. This part of the

active when the soldier was aware of shooting an innocent person in the simulation. "there was
consistently greater activity in the lateral portion of the OFC when subjects imagined shooting
civilians." A region of the brain that tends to be less active during murder is the lingual gyrus. This
region is the part of the brain that would justify a murder. Increased activity would be seen when
soldiers would kill enemies. This could explain why the effect isn't as drastic on the brain when the
killing seems justified, versus the orbitofrontal cortex being more active in more of the unjustified

The Clutter Murder

  • 1. The Clutter Murder On November 15, 1959, the Clutter family was found murdered in their home in Holcomb, Kansas. Richard Eugene Hickock and Perry Edward Smith were arrested for murdering the family of four six weeks after the crime was committed. During my research, I found that prior to the murder, Hickock and Smith were both in jail when a fellow prisoner, Floyd Wells, told Hickock about Mr. Clutter and the amount of cash he had stashed in a safe in his house. Hickock contacted Smith and convinced him to commit the robbery with him and start a new life in Mexico with the money. The two drove to Kansas and entered the house while the family was sleeping. The funny thing was, Hickock and Smith were unable to locate the safe. It was not in the place that Wells ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. A Murder Guilt: The Classical Examples Of A Murdered Room... A DIRTY MATTER Isidor Fisk's death is the classical example of a locked room murder. He was the owner of a laundry in New York. Fisk was there that evening, ironing something and the door and the windows were close due to the fact that the neighborhood he was in was not a good one. When the police arrived, because a neighbor heard some screams, they found them all closed, no one could have entered or left. To enter the room the policeman had to lift a boy and fit him through a transom. When the boy unlocked the door, Fisk was on the floor, dead, with two bullets in his chest and one in his wrist. The suicide theories were almost immediately rejected because the gun was not founded and surely it was not a robbery due to the fact that there ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... During one of his shows, he insulted the rival gang, Hip Sing Tong. The Hip Sing perceived that as an insult to their honor and declared a death sentence onto Ah Hoon. They even announced the day he'll be killed, on December 30. The gang he was in, put him under the protection of a police sergeant and two patrolmen and even member of the gang stood on guard. That, unfortunately for Hoon, was not enough. The following day he was found dead in his bed with a bullet in the head. Initially, the police were confused due to the fact that the only window of the house was facing a bank wall, across a courtyard. Later they found out that a Hip Sing hatchet man had been lowered on a chair from the roof and shot Ah Hoon with a silenced ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. What Is The Journey To The Murder Of Drr. Orwell's Murder? I walked into the huge mansion unaware of what event would happen that night. When I walked in, there was a ballroom to the right and a conservatory to my left. As I walked to the dining room, I saw a kitchen, when I got there I ate and laid down on the couch. When I got up I went to the kitchen where I found Mr. Boddy dead on the floor with a gash on his head and a candle stick beside him. I then warned the others that Mr. Boddy was murdered when I told them everyone but Mrs. Peacock was shocked. I then said ¨One of the people among us was a killer or someone else was in the house.¨ We then split up Col. Mustard and I, miss Scarlet and Mrs. Peacock, and Prof. Plum went by himself because Dr. Orchid was not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I unlocked the door and waited, I could hear miss Scarlet on one side and Mrs. Peacock on the other. I unlocked the door with the trap, but kept the other locked. When Mrs. peacock opened the door, she stepped in my trap and got hung by her feet. When that happened, she let go of her gun so I picked it up and shut the door back and locked it. Miss Scarlet was hitting the door knob with a wrench. I then decided to run out the other door and hid in the dining room with my pistol at the ready. I locked the door and called the cops, but when I hung the phone up the lights went out and miss Scarlet started banging on the door. One of the cops got in the house, but miss Scarlet murdered him and took away his gun. She shot the lock off the door and I ran out the other door. I knew I would have to fight my way out. I was on my way to the library with miss Scarlet hot on my tail. I fell to the ground and miss Scarlet tried to shoot, but when she pulled the trigger the gun went click. She was out of ammo I took the opportunity and shot her and ran to the cops with a cut and a bruise on my face I sprinted to the police department and told them the story. The head police followed me back when we got there we could not find miss Scarlet, but we found a blood trail, I must have hit her in the leg. • 9. Away With Murder How to Get Away with Murder has a multitude of elements that come into play throughout the series. The series follows a group of law students being mentored by Annalise Keating, a prominent defense attorney. The group deal with multiple deaths, usually caused by them, by using anything ranging from their knowledge of the law to hired hitmen to get their way. The repeated theme in the series exposes the harsh reality of how the local government and the people within are corrupt. A conscienceless society is a major concept that shapes each character's narcissistic frame of mind where they will do anything to achieve their own personal goals. Even with all the murders and deceit, in the end each character seems to accomplish part of their mission. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This episode really highlights the element s of how corrupt other can be due to how easily the hospital staff was bribed to forge false medical documents. This just goes to show corruption can transcend the real of law and move into other aspects, such as medicine. The students show how much they have become desensitized by being unsympathetic toward the shooting they were involved in. They even go as far as plotting to kill the victim after finding out he is still alive. The students only show concern for themselves and the people within their group. Oliver Hampton is the only character to openly express sympathy for the victims. He seems to be a personified version of the other characters' conscience. Early in the series he is not as prevalent because the students have not been introduced to their life of lies, but as the series goes on and the students begin to lose emotion toward their actions, he comes more of a constant figure to add more empathy. Oliver's constant reminder of how the group's actions have affected others is what keeps them from basically becoming ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Murder Conventions In the film Memories of Murder, director Bong Joon–ho utilizes a few different generic tropes rather than just staying in one specific genre. To me, the two most obvious genres that he borrows from in this film are crime and drama, but it has elements of comedy as well. The most prevalent genre in my opinion is the crime genre. The story revolves around detectives, investigating a serial killer who rapes and murders women. The entire plotline is clearly within the genre of crime, and I would say the only subversion from this trope is that there is no resolve. Although the viewer thinks that they have caught the killer, they do not have enough evidence to convict, and so they have to let him go. The killer is never caught, and usually in crime ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Later in the film the song comes on the radio, and when the detectives check outside, it has started raining. They try to call for backup to search the grounds near where the other bodies were found, but all backup is busy. This is not only extremely dramatic, but also keeps with the crime drama as well because all of the other police are occupied already. The darkness that comes with utilizing tropes such as these is counteracted by Boon Jong–ho's use of comedy. Throughout the film there is slight play on the good cop/bad cop trope seen in so many crime dramas. The "bad cop" does nothing but drop kick and beat suspects, until his kicking leg gets infected with tetanus and must be amputated. Although this sounds like a serious moment, because of the situations the character is seen in (almost all just getting into physical altercations) makes the moment humorous, because he will no longer be able to perform his favorite activity. Although Memories of Murder is clearly both a drama and a crime film, the director's use of comedy along with the subversion of the original genres helps to offset the dark themes slightly, making the film more unique and ... • 20. Serial Murder And Mass Murder Before we can take on the definitions of serial murder and mass murder, we must first understand what exactly constitutes murder. According to the United States Code–section 1111, murder is defined as the unlawful killing of a human being with malice aforethought (4). With that said, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the term serial murder implies that there are at least three different murder events at three different locations, with a "cooling off" period between each event (Ramsland, 2009). Individuals who perpetrate the crime of serial murder are referred to as serial killers. The term "serial killer" was coined in the mid–1970s by Robert Ressler, the former director of the FBI 's Violent Criminal Apprehension Program. He chose the name "serial killer" because authorities in England called these types of murders "crimes in a series" (Freeman, 2007). John Wayne Gacy, known as the "Killer Clown," who tortured, raped and murdered 33 men between 1972 and 1978 is an example of a serial killer. On the other hand, mass murder is defined as four or more murders occurring during a particular event with no cooling–off period between the murders. A mass murder typically occurs in a single location in which a number of victims are killed by an individual (2). An example of a mass murder would be the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing perpetrated by Timothy McVeigh, in which 168 people were killed. While serial murder has a definition that contains certain ... However, there are a few causes of murder which need to be considered by the community – insanity, self–defence and imperfect legal system. First of all, some people murder simply because they go insane. Parry and Moyes (2013) said that there were actually 1216 victims who got killed by the people with mental illness from 2001 to 2010 in the United Kingdom. Some of the murderers were suffering from mental disorders; so, they could not control themselves on what they are doing or what they are going to do. There was a 60–year– old man who shot dead his neighbour. Two consultant forensic psychiatrists provided evidences which had proven the man was suffering from mental illness; thus, he was unable to control himself from his actions (O'Riordan, 2016). Moreover, it is difficult to understand the causes of a child who murdered his or her parents, the one who brings them up; however, insanity might be one of the reasons that contributed to the ... Before the 1500's, common law judges categorized homicide into two broad categories known as, criminal and noncriminal homicides (Samaha, 2013). Over the next five decades, a number of newly developed statutes were established and further divided criminal and noncriminal homicide. Murder, under common law, is the unlawful killing of another person in existence with malice aforethought (Bower, 2014). In other words, an individual had to have a clear criminal intent with some amount of spite, hate, or bad will to commit the killing before the murder occurred and had to be planned in advance (Samaha, 2013). To illustrate, during the 1550's, English homicide statutes outlined activities such as poisoning or lying in wait as examples of preplanned murders. However, while murder was initially only thought of as an intentional and premeditated act, over time judges saw the need to develop new classifications of murders that didn't fit the standard definition. First, sudden killings that were intentional, but not premeditated were added. These types of murder were often completed during a heat of passion moment and were unreasonably provoked by the victim's actions (Samaha, 2013). However, unreasonably provoked means that the victim's actions were not substantial enough to justify the actions of the attacker. Secondly, judges added unintentional killings that were completed during a felony (Samaha, 2013). While most murders require intent to cause death, under this law, any homicide committed during the commission of a felony, regardless of whether it's intentional or accidental will constitute as murder. Second–degree murder malice aforethought is a non–premeditated killing of a victim who cannot be fully proven there was the full reasoning of the death. This is also known as having some sort of intent or recklessness.(Cal. Penal Code § 187 [West 1996]). Premeditated murder is someone who sat down and thought the murder through and went along with it, also known as first–degree murder. So with all that being said, in the scenario about a victim of a DUI accident who had religious beliefs about blood transfusion died from bleeding out too much in California. The drunken driver was on probation for a previous DUI he has received, and because of him driving drunk, caused him to be impaired which caused him to crash into a parked car. Where then the victim was trapped and started to bleed out. When they approached the hospital, the victim made it clear that she is against blood transfusions due to her religious beliefs, so the doctors than ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 58. Definition Of Murder Every kid grows up being told what is right and what is wrong. Do not take the other kids toys that is bad. Share your snack that is good. The idea of bad feels elementary; it is something we have been surrounded by our whole life. However, the term might not be so easily defined. Murder is considered unmoral in nearly every culture, however every culture sends people to war. Murder is the act of taking another life, but is defined loosely. Soldiers are not considered murders, and rightfully so, even though they take lives. Instead of changing the ideas surrounding murder the definition of murder is changed. What was once considered a violent, cruel act is now seen as heroism. The circumstances that surround the act define the act itself. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are many examples of this such as when discussing the affects of Hospitality hours (happy hour) on the amount of drinks and the rate at which people consume their drinks (lower prices and quantity demanded) or the price at which people are willing to buy a cookbook relative to the profit the writer makes and how the current price was beneficial to both parties (equilibrium price). Ultimately I quite enjoyed the story and regret not getting it earlier as having it would of given context to a lot of concepts that normally seem alien to the average person that does not have business ties. I believe that someone being sentenced to life in prison without parole is better. I believe this because when being sentenced to death, it is in a sense taking the easy way out. Although you may have to wait many years being actually being executed, it gives you less time to live with the decision you have made. Lizzie Borden Murder The Murders in Fall River On August 4, 1892 at 92 Second Street in Fall River Massachusetts, stepmom Abby and father, Andrew Borden were slaughtered by an axe in their home ("The Trial of Lizzie Borden"). Lizzie's biological mother died in 1862, and her father Andrew remarried the spinstress, Abby Durfee Gray. Since it was a stepmother to be murdered, it raised the question as to if Lizzie really liked her stepmother. Abby's body was in the guest room, murdered an hour before Andrew, who was on a sofa. Lizzie, their daughter, was first suspected then convicted based on the evidence. A year later she was pronounced innocent. Three days later, on August 9th, Lizzie started to be questioned in the courtroom over police headquarters. During the first four hours of the examination Lizzie gave confusing and contradicting information pertaining to where she was and what she was doing. Two days later, on August 11th, Lizzie was read her rights and arrested by Chief Hillard for the murder of her parents. The following day Lizzie made a plea of not guilty to the charges against her before being transported by rail car to a jail located in Taunton, an area located eight miles from Fall River. August 22nd Lizzie was returned to the Fall River courtroom for her preliminary hearing, after a criminal complaint has been filed by the prosecutor, next is to determine whether there is enough evidence to require a trial. At the end of the hearing, Judge Josiah Blaisdell pronounced Lizzie as 'probably guilty' and ordered her to face a grand jury. From November 15th to the 21st Lizzie faced the grand jury to plead not guilty. It wasn't until December first, that a testimony was made against Lizzie by a friend of the families. Alex Russell appeared before the grand jury to make his statement about the blue dress he saw Lizzie burn. Lizzie responded with the fact that the dress was covered in old paint. The question then is, why was she burning it the day of the murders? The statement from Russell matched with an earlier testimony made by Bridget, she claimed Lizzie was wearing a blue dress the morning of the murders. Since both testimonies matched, it was enough evidence to convince the jury to indict, formally accuse of or charge with a serious crime, Lizzie for the murder of her parents. On June 5th, 1893 Andrew Jennings and George Robinson represented the defendant while Knowlton and Thomas Moody argued the case of the prosecution. Each chapter has a focus that builds with each subsequent chapter. The first chapter that discusses an element unique to the time was called "Trial by Newspaper," and it discussed the growing interest of the public in the murders. Newspapers began to print all the details about the murder, the investigation, the trial, and the execution. The public became obsessed with reading the crime stories in the paper. Later Flanders begins to discuss the growth of Scotland Yard. After many crimes were plagued with poor communication, the need for a countrywide detective force grew which was the beginnings of Scotland Yard. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Verbermockle Murder The Cold–Blooded Murder of Mr. Verbermockle 54.3 percent of murder victims were killed by someone they knew (acquaintance, neighbor, friend, boyfriend, etc.), 24.8 percent were killed by a family member. The evidence shows that this is logically the case in the Verbermockle murder mystery. After allegedly finding Mrs. Verbermockle's husband unconscious on the bathroom floor, Mrs. Verbermockle calls her family doctor. Mrs. Verbermockle claimed that he must have slipped on a bar of soap, and she did not touch him. Verbermockle suffered blunt force head trauma. Knowing that he was killed using blunt force head trauma, either the weapon or the body would have made a loud noise from impact. Mrs. V would have been able to hear this loud bang in her own home. Any normal person would have rushed to the scene immediately after hearing the noise, especially if the impact was tough enough to cause "a fracture in the rear of his skull," as the doctor had mentioned. In addition, Mr. V's body seems to be in front of the sink, implying that he was in front of the mirror at the time of the impact. Anyone would have been able to react if they saw someone behind them in the mirror. However, his body is placed as if he hadn't moved a muscle. Though if he saw his wife behind him, he wouldn't have had any worry of suspicion of an intruder. Most importantly, next to the body is a broken bottle of cologne or mouthwash that could have been used as the murder weapon. At the murder scene you can see that the victim has some type of liquid come from the back of his head, where he was hit at. The bottle was used to hit Mr. V in the back of the head causing a fracture in his skull while splashing the liquid on him at the same time. Unless the liquid coming from his head was blood, then bottle didn't splash on him during the attack. We also know that the attack would have to be fast and swift, as the body seems that he hadn't moved from the shower. Thus ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 76. Effects Of Murder In Macbeth Murder is a damaging act to one's mind. After committing/assisting in a murder, the mind is changed, and changes the overall person as well. These changes are different in all situations. They depend on the level of involvement, what the person is like before, and how violent the actual murder is. The most impactful element, however, is the violence of the murder. For example, Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were described by Shakespeare both before and after the murder. This helps readers to understand the characters' mindsets and how the event has shaped them. One of the best examples of murder's influence on the mind comes from Shakespeare's play Macbeth. Before committing any murder, Macbeth was lighthearted and not at all serious. Even ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If anything, real people are affected more. There is more scientific backing to how they're affected. One of the most active parts of the brain during a murder is the orbitofrontal cortex. This part of the brain is involved with moral sensitivity. In a study conducted with soldiers, this area was more active when the soldier was aware of shooting an innocent person in the simulation. "there was consistently greater activity in the lateral portion of the OFC when subjects imagined shooting civilians." A region of the brain that tends to be less active during murder is the lingual gyrus. This region is the part of the brain that would justify a murder. Increased activity would be seen when soldiers would kill enemies. This could explain why the effect isn't as drastic on the brain when the killing seems justified, versus the orbitofrontal cortex being more active in more of the unjustified murders, which can tend to be more ...
