Editor's Notes
Especially after the industrial revolution, problems have been stacking and we seem to be nearing a tipping point.
Green IT, climate panel, Co2 storage - people want to help, they want things to change. Also an important point, is that we as a race would want to adress such problems, even if it wasnt in the news. The problems are real, and we must deal with them somehow
"A government is a body of people, generally ungoverned". They get their power either when elected by the voters, or if enough soldiers help them gain power. Either way, they get their power from individuals The individual have tools of positive reinforcement towards a government. Primarily it is voting, but also talking to local politicians, participating in polls etc. They can also do as they are told. As negative reinforcement they can decide not to vote, or vote for someone else. They can simply say "no" when told, or they protest or even resist! Companies are organisations whose purpose is to maximise profit. They get their power through selling products and services. Again, they get their power from the individuals. The individuals main method of positive reinforcement towards companies are purchasing their products, but they can also choose their employer or the way they work. Individuals can also conciously refuse to buy products or services, or as an employer they can strike or even quit. Either way, governments and companies are empowered by the people! Any way you look at it, in the final analysis, change begins and ends with the individuals and not by adressing companies or governments.
First, there is information collection. This can be collected in any imaginable - it can be public company information, a history of how members of congress vote…anything, and from anywhere
This is the tricky part. A text description is all nice and dandy, but its difficult to summarize, aggregate and so on. The idea is to post the information in a quantitave manner. You do this when you answer "gallups", answer multiple choise questionnares and so on. Also it must be linked through identifyers, so that food additives, company names, which company has what product etc is possible to correlate.
