4.  Railway operation in today's Bangladesh began on
November 15, 1862.
 Its length was 53.11 kilometres of 5 ft 6 in
(1,676 mm) (broad gauge) line were opened for
traffic between Dorshona of Chuadanga District and
Jogotee of Kushtia District.
 The next 14.98 kilometres 1,000 mm (3 ft 3 3⁄8 in)
(meter gauge) line was opened for traffic on 4
January 1885. In 1891, the construction of then
Bengal Assam Railway was taken up by the British
Government assistance but that was later on taken
over by the Bengal Assam Railway Company.

5.  Bangladesh Railway covers 44 civil districts of the country.
 BR is divided into two zones, East & West-each under control of a general
manager who is accountable to the Director General of Bangladesh
Railway.
 The existence of Bangladesh Railway are the several gauges-
 Broad gauge, Meter gauge and dual gauge

6.  Bangladesh Railway at present has got 2855 route kilometers
 Total number of employs 34,168 who works under Bangladesh railway.

employee related to the Bangladesh railway.
Reduce the surplus and non-productive and idle workers.
 Strictly monitoring the pass tickets system so miss use of pass ticket will be
stop.
Have to stop corruption by imposing affective rules & regulation.

21. Have to improve the quality of service by providing well hospitality including
good food, well seating arrangement ,maintaining good environment.
Employee salary & facility have to increase so people tendency to
corruption will be reduce.

22. Our report on problems and prospect of Bangladesh railways highlights that
we are, Bangladeshi people, in, so to say, haphazard situation
approximately most of the cases in case of BR. But here, that is to say ,in
railway department ,it has some penetrating glorious points; that are
innovative digitalized systems from our upcoming trained specialist related
to Bangladesh Railways and in most of the cases BR is connected with those
