OBJECTIVES AND LEARNING OUT COMES
-BY KAVITA PADMAWAR
OBJECTIVE- That specifies what the learner will
behave by the classroom activities.
SPECIFICATIONS-
 Learning out comes or output.
 It is a specific statement with respect to
expected change in behavior of a pupil in
particular area.
1)The statement of specification should
contain an action verb.
e. g. a) The pupil solves the given example on
profit.
b) the pupil uses new words in his own
sentence.
2)The statement of specification should
contain two parts.
a. The modification part, which includes the
pupils expected behavior.
b. The content part, which includes the subject
matter area, i.e. content through which
behavior is to be changed or modified.
e.g. The pupil explains, the causes of second
world war.
The pupil writes the figures of speech in
the given passage.
3)The statement of specification should indicate a
worthwhile. As per the standard or age group.
4)Specification should be in the form of students
achievement, not in the form of teachers
intentions.
5)Specification should be in the form of the
achievement of every single student, not in the
form of a group.
6)Specification should contain only one behavior to
be developed or achieved or modified.
One change at a time, because different changes
comes under different objectives.
 With specification phrased or expressed in right
manner the teacher knows
a) what to teach- content
b) how to teach- learning experience
c) what a pupil is to be tested for? Evaluation
tools
 Specification and learning outcomes.
What occurs as a result of learning experience is
termed as the learning outcomes.
Stated desirable outcome before the student
undergo a learning experience is termed as
specification.
 We can understand the desired change in the
student.
 Specification guided to construct the questions in
evaluation.
 Student can also verify the change as per the
objective at each level of learning.
 With the help of specification, the evaluation
process becomes absolute.
 The teaching learning activities are arranged as
per the specifications written.
 Student is also aware about the scope of
bheavioral change.
 Specifications help to diagnose the student.
