1. Bullying In Ecuador

Bullying is unwanted, aggressive behavior among school aged children that
involves a real or perceived power imbalance. The behavior is repeated, or has
the potential to be repeated, over time. Both kids who are bullied and who bully
others may have serious, lasting problems. (stopbullying.org, 2006)
The bullying in Ecuador is not only in schools, it is also in works, a home, and
in many other aspects of life.
The latest scientific research at national level was made through collaboration
INNFA (National Institute for Children and Families) and ID (Defense Ni; you
and Girls International) in 2004. The name of the project is called “my opinion
matters “. The statistics, which are made on a sample of 980 children and
adolescents revealed that:
• 32% (1,054,112 children and adolescents, the total of 5 million in the country)
is struck and insulted "sometimes" by their peers.
• 22.6 % are children between the ages of 6 to 11 years
• 20.1 % are children between 15-17 years.
