Nalantha Educational Trust is seeking donations to provide Vitamin A supplements to 11,000 at-risk children in Dindigul, Tamil Nadu to address Vitamin A deficiency. The Trust will train volunteer health workers, select children aged 6-59 months based on need, distribute the supplements, and maintain records. The cost is Rs. 15 per child. Donations of Rs. 150-225 can sponsor supplements for 10-15 children to help create a healthier generation. Online donations can be made via the Trust's website or by cheque/demand draft payable to Nalantha Educational Trust.

Vitamin A (VA) is an essential nutrient needed
in small amounts for the normal functioning of
the visual system, growth and development,
maintenance of epithelial cellular integrity,
immune function and reproduction. Severe
deficiency of VA is known to produce corneal
exophthalmia, keratomalacia and blindness in
children. Vitamin A deficiency (VAD) is mainly
seen amongst the young children as they have
high requirements due to increased physical
growth and have low dietary intake.
Hence Nalantha Education Trust, a grass roots
development organization and our partner of
Vitamin Angels appeals for generous attention
and care for children and distributing the
Vitamin A supplement who are in lack of
vitamins to create a healthy and vitamin rich
generation.

What we need
The Operational cost is made to issue the Vitamin A
supplement per head is Rs.15.
The proposed project will cover 1000 children in the age group
of 6 - 11 months for Vitamin A 100,000 IU and 10000 children in
the age group of 12 - 59 months for Vitamin A 200,000 IU.
You can sponsor at least for 10 to 15 children to gain their
Vitamin A supplement at their foot step.
