2. I looked at Rihanna’s CD covers since the
original artist for my chosen song is
Rihanna. They are all close ups, which I like
as you can see the expression on her face.
Her make up, style and pose all link into
what her albums are called. For example on
‘LOUD’ she has bright red hair and red lips
that is vibrant and could be described as
‘loud’. Then on take a bow she is much
more natural and has her head bowed
down.
3. The back of the album cover for ‘LOUD’ is faded and not as bright as the front cover,
although the red her and red bar on the left hand side stand out against the soft
pink.
Conventions of CD back cover:
- List of songs
- Barcode
- Record labels
- Copyright logo and explanation
- Usually have numbers next to the song track

My favourite poster is the one in the middle of Madonna because it really stands out and
has a lot going on, but is not too over the top. For example the blues and purples calm the
reds down and against the black background which them more noticeable. Madonna also
has a really tough looking face on this image, then has a lot of softer, contrasting faded
images made up of her face from the past covering over the top.
12. I decided to choose this font because it has a softer, curvier edge to it that links in with the
image of my talent as she has a soft effortless expression. I found that the other fonts I looked
at where too hard and tough which didn’t match the song or my talents face on the album
cover. Now my audience wont miss interpret the song for being something that its not, for
example being a faster, harder song instead of a slower and more calm song that ‘Stay’ is.
