Transcarpathian wines have characteristic flavors due to the local climate and soil. The acidity and minerals in the volcanic rock give the wines hidden qualities and distinctive aromas and tastes. In the Soviet era, the most famous producer was Beregovsky winery, which made over 10 varieties of wine and was known for its "Rose of Transcarpathia." Transcarpathian winemakers have won numerous medals at international exhibitions, showing the high quality of the regional wines. Wine is an important part of the culture and traditions in Transcarpathia, with festivals held several times a year to showcase new wines.

2. The most characteristic features of Transcarpathian
wines are connected with the climate and the soils that
give them flavor of wild flowers. At first glance they do
not attract attention, but they are extremely valuable -
these wines have hidden qualities, primarily due to the
characteristic acidity. In the formation of aroma and
taste very important role is played by the mountain tuff
rocks and the northern boundary of the weather world
viticulture.

3. Wine is one of the most loved drinks. The best
winemakers advise to take it noble pure or mixed with
water. The tradition of wine mixed with soda or mineral
water came to Hungary, and thus to our country, at the
end of the XIX century. This is so-called
"Transcarpathian frych." Depending on the proportions
of wine and water there are various types of frych.

4.  In the Soviet times, the most famous producer of wine
in Transcarpathia was Beregovsky winery, which
produced more than 10 varieties of wine, and its
hallmark was the "Rose of Transcarpathia". Repeatedly
Berehovo wines received top awards at the
international exhibitions and festivals. For example,
Transcarpathian winemakers won 7 medals at the
International Fair of wines, brandies and vodkas
"Leneksport-2003" held in St. Petersburg. At the
prestigious fair famous firms from France, Spain, Italy,
Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Cyprus
and Yugoslavia exhibited their products.

6.  Wine is not a drink that indigenous people drink
almost every day, it is the object of national pride, the
true cult object so that after the young wine is made
five times a year winemakers meet in Uzhhorod,
Mukachevo, Berehovo and to Vynohradov at the wine
festivals to show their creations – white and red, sweet
and dry. This is the combination of sun and the wind,
creativity and inspiration, love and generosity,
traditions and customs.
