The document outlines the plans for a digipak insert, including:
- Using the same logo as other products for continuity on the front cover
- Including only the lyrics to the single 'Colors' on the first panel to be concise
- Featuring behind-the-scenes photos from the music video shoot on the second panel
- Displaying a photo taken during the music video shoot of paint hitting a tree on the third panel
- Crediting those involved in the album's production and including a message from the artist on the fourth panel
2. For the front cover of the insert
I’m going to use the same logo
that I’ve used for the digipak
cover, album advert and music
video. This will create continuity
between the products as well as
being easily identified if separated
from the digipak.
I’m going to have the back cover
as just a black panel as it is
unconventional to have
information on the back cover as
its rarely looked at.

3. First Panel
For the first panel of the insert I’m going to have
the lyrics to the single ‘Colors’ from the album.
As this will likely be the most popular song, I
think that fans would appreciate having easy
access to the lyrics. Many digipak inserts
include the lyrics to all the tracks on the album
however, I am challenging that by only
including the lyrics to the single as I think it’s
unnecessary to include every song. I also want
the insert to be short but interesting with mostly
images and not a large amount of text.
Your little brother never tells you but he loves you so
You said your mother only smiled on her tv show
You’re only happy when your sorry head is filled with dope
I hope you make it to the day you’re twenty-eight years old
You’re dripping like a saturated sunrise
You’re spilling like an overflowing sink
You’re ripped at every edge but you’re a masterpiece
And now i’m tearing through the pages and the ink
Everything is blue
His pills, his hands, his jeans
And now i’m covered in the colors pull apart at the seams
And it's blue
And it's blue
Everything is grey
His hair, his smoke, his dreams
And now he's so devoid of color
He don’t know what it means
And he's blue
And he's blue
You were a vision in the morning when the light came through
I know I’ve only felt religion when i’ve lied with you
You said you’ll never be forgiven till your boys are too
And I’m still waking every morning but it’s not with you
You’re dripping like a saturated sunrise
You’re spilling like an overflowing sink
You’re ripped at every edge but you’re a masterpiece
And now I’m tearing through the pages and the ink
You were red, and you liked me because I was blue
But you touched me, and suddenly I was a lilac sky
Then you decided purple just wasn't for you
Everything is blue
His pills, his hands, his jeans
And now I'm covered in the colors pull apart at the seams
And it's blue
And it's blue
Everything is grey
His hair, his smoke, his dreams
And now he's so devoid of color
He don't know what it means
And he's blue
And he's blue
(Everything is blue)
4. Second Panel
For the second panel I’m
going to have a collage of
images taken when filming
my music video for a behind
the scenes look. I think the
audience would enjoy seeing
this as part of the digipak as
they would feel like they’re
getting more for their money
and a number of exclusive
images that people who
hadn’t bought the digipak
wouldn’t be able see.
5. Third Panel
On the third panel I’m going to
have an photo that I took of
powder paint hitting a tree. I took
this image when filming one of the
scenes in my music video so the
composition and colours match
that of the video. I’ve also chosen
this image because of the bright
neon colours and the contrast
between the pink paint and green
grass which I think works well. I
think this will relate perfectly to
my ongoing theme of colour and
explosions of colour.
6. Fourth Panel
Thank you to my family, friends and partners who
have supported me, I couldn’t have done it without
your immense help.
I’d also like to thank all my wonderful supporters
and those who stand for truth and free thought in
today’s world. For the fourth panel in the insert I’m going to have a
message from the artist as well as credits to the people
to worked on the album. I think the message from the
artist will give a personal touch to the digipak and build
a connection between the artist and the audience.
Crediting the people who worked on the album is one
of the typical conventions of a digipak insert as it’s
important that they are given recognition.
This image will be the background to the text and is an image
taken from a photo shoot I did while filming the ink scenes in
my music video. I really like the blending of colours in the
image and think it would be interesting to see a high quality
photo version of the ink shot in my video.
