invaders.
3. HOW DID THEY GET TO IRELAND?
The Vikings travelled
to Ireland in
Longships.
These longships were
made from timber but
their sails were made
from wool.
•The Vikings rowed
these ships when the
weather was calm.
4. DID THE VIKINGS COME TO CLONTARF?
Vikings settled in the
various places they
invaded.
The invaded areas in
Limerick, Waterford
and Dublin.
As part of the Dublin
invasion, they invaded
Clontarf and settled
there.
5. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE VIKINGS IN
CLONTARF?
In 1014 the battle of
Clontarf took place.
•The Vikings fought the
Irish led by Brain Boru.
•The Vikings were
defeated ,but Brain
Boru was killed.
•This was the end of
the Viking age
