2. GENRE
CONVENTIONS
The Genre I have chosen to do
is Horror. In this genre it is
conventional to have a scary
antagonist that causes fear and
pain to the protagonist. It is
conventional for the trailers to
have some form of fear and to
only roughly show the
antagonist so that the mystery of
the situation still stays hidden
throughout the movie. To make it
conventional a the beginning we
need to add a happy storyline,
that slowly deaerates into chaos
and horror for the victim.
3. PRODUCTION
IDEA
The idea that the group has gone for is the stalking movie. The setting is that the re is a convict that has
been released from prison, trying to make contact with his daughter, but stalks her in the process. The trailer
will slowly progress so the actions become more invasive and more personal, but the trailer will not tell you
that the teen he is stalking is his daughter, so to create a sense of mystery for the trailer.
4. INSTITUTIONS
The institution that I will be using will be Hammer Studios.
This is because they are a well known, well endorsed
company that has much experience with creating movies,
they include experience in films that have supernatural beings
like mummies, Frankenstein and Dracula, but they also have
experience with modern films like let me in, this shows that
they are a diverse company that can stand up to many
challenges, making them a prime producer of the movie.
5. TARGET
AUDIENCE.
The target audience that I will be trying to attract would be 15 – 25 years old males and females. Due to the
audience research that I have found out that horrors are more male orientated but some females do enjoy
watching them so it must have an aspect on fear for women.
The target class that the trailer is the working classes, this is because they typically have more interest into
the horror convention from my research and they seem to like to have more of a jump scare and the horror
experience more than the upper classes.
