1. Economics: Distinguish the value of each material used to build the
pig’s houses and have the students bargain with each other to build
their own houses.
2. History: Compare a famous historical figure and conquest/war to
the story of The Three Little Pigs
3. Government: Perform a mock trial for the Big Bad Wolf
4. Geography: Research countries whose main exports are the
materials the pigs used to build their houses.

4. Learning Activity Details: Economics
1. Students get into groups of three or four.
2. Groups are each given one building material.
3. Groups are also given $200.00 fake money.
4. Each group determines the price that they will sell their building
material for.
5. Groups bargain with each other to build a house to accommodate
their group.

1. Divide students into groups three or four.
2. Students should decide between one historical figure or
conquest/war discussed in class.
3. Students should research information on a teacher approved
website.

1. Assign students to the roles of judge, prosecutor, defendant,
attorneys, and jury.
2. Have the students perform the trial of the wolf after the three little
pigs story concludes.
3. Have each student write a response that determines their personal
verdict of the case.

1. Students are to get into groups and take a hike to gather straw,
rocks, and sticks.
2. Write an observation of where the materials were located or
collected from.

• Government: Students should give specific laws that would support
your response from the mock trial and explain the punishment for
each
