โข The Inuit lived in Nunavut, the Northwest
Territories, and northern Quebec.

โข Parkas were made from caribou hides.
Women's parkas had a special pouch for
their babies.
โข Inuit pants were made from caribou hides.
Caribou hides protect Inuit from: ice and
snow, freezing wind.
โข Inuit mittens are made of sealskin, the
sealskin protected the Inuit from water
getting in.
4. Inuit Tools
โข The unaq, a type of harpoon that was
used to hunt seals, and whales. The Inuit
used the harpoon to pull animals in to the
shore.
โข A nitsiq is used to pull animals out of the
water.
โข To protect Inuit's eyes from the sunlight,
they used wooden goggles, they could
see through the slits.
5. Hunting and Gathering
โข Caribou was their main food. they get the proper
nutrients they ate all parts of the animal even the fat,
bones, and blood.
โข Arctic char was a fish that they ate cooked, dried, frozen,
or raw.
โข They ate nuts and berries, because vegetables did not
grow in the arctic.
โข Bannock was a type of bread, they wrapped dough
around a stick, and cooked it.
โข Pemmican is made from animal fat, meat, and berries.
the Inuit mixed tem all together and than they would dry
or store them.
6. Homes
โข Most of the Inuit lived in igloos in the
winter. The Inuit carved large blocks of ice
and stacked them in a circle. They had
formed it in a dome.
โข The Inuit built tents in the summer. The
tents were made from wooden poles, or
from whale bones. One end was fastened
to the ground. And was formed in a cone,
and covered with animal skins.
