• The Inuit winter homes were igloos. The
igloos are built out of blocks of ice. The ice
was placed in a circle so it is shaped liked
a dome.

tents are made out of wooden poles and
also rid bones of whales. They

• The Inuit parkas all were made out of
caribou hides. The women's had a pouch in
them for children.
• The pants where made out of caribou hides
to protect them from freezing wind, ice, and
snow so that they would not get cold.
• The mittens where made out of sealskin
and were waterproof.
• Boots were made out of caribou skin or
sealskin.
5. Food
• The Inuit ate caribou. The Inuit ate the
fat, bones, and blood.
• The Inuit ate Arctic char. They ate it raw,
frozen, dried, or cooked.
• The Inuit did not eat vegetables. They ate
nuts and berries.
• The Inuit ate bannock. Bannock is bead.
• Pemmican is made from meat, animal fat,
and berries.
6. Inuit Tools
• Unaq is a harpoon the Inuit used it to kill seals
and whales.
• Nitsiq is made to pull harpooned animals from
water.
• Komatiks are pulled by dogs.
• Kayaks are used to go hunting and fishing.
Umiaks get people and goods around.
• Wooden goggles had slits to keep there eyes
safe.
