7. Review Student Services
 From the Student Services screen
 Enter student’s first and last name and Click Search .
Use DOB to identify correct student.
 Copy and paste the ASU ID to the report in Column S
 Determine if student is enrolled
 Go to View Financial Aid Status to determine if
student is aid year activated.
 If Financial Aid Status screen populates, aid
year is active and there is a SSN mismatch.
 If Financial Aid Status screen does not
populate, aid year is not active.
 Manually create Financial AidYear

8. Manually Create Financial Aid Year
 Go to Manage Financial Aid
Years
 Enter student’s ID
 Enter year for aid year
activation
 Click Save

9. Student Not Enrolled
 If student is not enrolled, place a
comment on the report next to ASU ID
 Go to Compose Counseling Message
screen
 Enter student’s ASU ID
 Click Search
 Send: Private Loan – Not Enrolled
communication
 Comment on student’s file:
 Private education loan certification
request for $ thru LENDER not processed;
std not yet admitted/enrolled.

10. Student Not Enrolled (continued)
 Update CL4 Response Record
– Go to “View CL4 Response Record”
screen
– Identify the “Queue Inst” number from
the report
– In the “Queue Instance” field, enter the
“Queue Inst” number from the
certification report and search.
– Select “Application Detail” tab
– Click on “View All” link
– Identify each “Dtl LnNbr” from
the worklist item detail screen
– Change “Load Status” from
“Error” to “Unprocessed”
– Click on “Save” button
– Complete the worklist

11. Student Enrolled – SSN Matches
Certification Request
 After aid year activating student, private loan will populate on private
loan certification worklist.
 Leave a note on the report that the student has been aid year
activated.

12. Student Enrolled – SSN Mismatch
Certification Request
 If student SSN mismatches the
certification request, student
will need to update their SSN
with ASU or lender.
 Leave comment: PL thru
Citizen’s Bank for $6208 on
HOLD due to SSN discrepancy.
Student will need to update
prior to certification.
SendCounselingCommunication:
We received a request for a private loan from Citizens Bank
in the amount of $xxxx.We have placed your certification
request on hold due to a discrepancy in your Social Security
Number.Your SSN atASU is different from the SSN at
Citizens Bank. In order to process your private loan must
either update your social security number with ASU or with
Citizens Bank.
If your SSN is incorrect at ASU, you will need to print and
complete the Student Demographic Correction Form at
https://students.asu.edu/student-demographic-update,
attach an enlarged legible copy of your Social Security card,
and submit it to ASU Registrar Services.
If the SSN at Citizens Bank is incorrect, you will need to
contact them to update it. Once the correction to your SSN
is made, please advise our office and we will process your
Private Loan Certification.

13. Student Enrolled – International Student
Certification Request
 The SSN for an international student will show as XXX-XX-XXXX.
 For international students:
 Certify private loan in PeopleSoft
 Manually certify loan on ELM
 Update maintain originated loans
 UpdateView CL4 Response record
 Accept origination status

14. Update FaNet
▪ Login to FANet at https://sfao.asu.edu/
▪ Select “Tools”
▪ Select “Report Registry”
▪ From “Area” drop down box select “Loans”
▪ Select “Filter”
▪ On the right side of theTitle “4304 Private Loan Certifications No
SSN” click on the operation “record”

15. Update FaNet
▪ Complete information
– Report Ran:Yes
– Area: Loans
– AcademicYear: ApplicableAY
– Returned Rows: Found on error
report
– Continue to complete the process
for the remaining information
accordingly
– Save
