Imgur is a free image hosting service that allows users to upload images and then link to them from online projects and websites. To use Imgur, users sign up for a free account, select an image to upload either by browsing their computer files or dragging the image onto the upload area. Imgur then generates a URL for the uploaded image that can be copied and embedded into other online content.
1. Setting up web links for images using IMGUR
When creating projects using online resources such as WinkSite, it is useful to place your media on the Internet.
This allows your project to link to the media rather than uploading. Many online editing tools, in trial mode, do
not allow users to upload media to their servers. The most common toll for animations, audio and videos is
YouTube. Imgur is a fast a reliable service that you can use to upload and link to your images.
Steps
1. Sign up for a free Imgur account
2. Click on the New post button
3. Click on the Browse button or drag an image onto the middle of the screen
4. If you clicked on Browse, locate and select the image, click on the Open button
5. A message appears indicating that the image is being posted to your account
6. An image dashboard appears with several features, many of these are optional

D. Click to share your image with the Imgur community
E. If you wish, add Tags to allow others to find it
F. This is the web address (URL) that can be copied and pasted into your projects/ websites
G. Use these buttons to share your image on social media

7. To see your images, click on your username in the top right corner of the screen
8. Click on Images
9. Your image gallery displays
