Orewa College introduced a one-to-one device program that required all Year 9 students to bring a device, preferably an iPad. Previously, the school had an open wireless network but few students brought devices or changed how they learned. The program aimed to better prepare students for a technology-focused world by increasing access to computers and ICTs. Choosing iPads addressed key factors for success like professional development, technical support, and how teachers could integrate the technology into learning.
