• Krewes are organizations that are mostly open to the public, or a specific
group (firefighters, teachers, autoworkers, Shriners, etc.) that work together
for the common purpose of preparing for Mardi Gras parades and balls.
• The oldest and most traditional one is the Rex Krewe, but there are
others like the Zulu krewe, Babylon krewe, Orpheus krewe, Bacchus
krewe…..

They are very popular, every Krewe has a popular ball in which
the king and queen are chosen.

baked dough, coloured in delicious sugar toppings in
the traditional Mardi Gras colours of purple , green and
gold. As a surprise a little baby is inserted.
