The Best Things to Donate After a Natural Disaster
1. THE
BEST
THINGS TO DONATE
after a natural disaster
In the aftermath of a disaster, we want to help.
Did you know that some types of donations actually make
relief operations run less efficiently?
Consider these ideas!
SPACE
Warehouses, offices, extra rooms,
and even parking lots are useful
in the midst of a disaster.
They can be used for emergency
housing, donation storage,
and relief operations.
If you haven't been affected
by the disaster, donate your
time to serve organizations such
as the Red Cross, or even your
local church and help the
relief operation process.
YOUR TIME
Underwear isn't the first thing that
comes to mind when making
donations, however, families and
individuals have a great need for it.
Donate new bras, panties, and
underpants.
UNDERWEAR
Offer to wash clothes for disaster
victims instead of donating second-
hand clothing. Getting clean clothes
to victims that actually fit them is
important in a difficult time.
LAUNDRY
The loss of power after a natural
disaster is tough to endure.
Consider donating flashlights,
camping lanterns, batteries,
portable battery-operated chargers,
and power generators.
POWERCLEANING
With limited access to sanitation and
safe food, cleaning supplies are vital.
Fill a bucket with gloves, face masks,
detergent, regular bleach, sponges,
brushes, medicine droppers, baggies,
garbage bags, and paper products.
MONEY
Money is the most useful thing to donate.
This allows relief operations to allocate funds to what is truly needed.
