Flip Tools for iPad
If you’ve got an iPad, you’ve
got a great tool you can use to
flip your classroom. Some of
the best apps to use to create
content for the flipped
classroom are:
• Explain Everything
• Educreations
• ShowMe
• ScreenChomp
• Knowmia
• DoodleCast Pro
Flip Tools for PC
What can I say about flipping
on a PC except that you have
access to the grandaddy of all
screen casting tools Camtasia. With the pro
version, you can embed tests
into your videos. Wow.

So You Want To Flip Your Class?
Congratulations! You’re a brave soul that has decided to
step out and do something new with your class that will
increase engagement and help make your classroom
more student-centered.
Flipping your classroom can be very easy or very time
consuming to do, depending upon how you set it up.
If you decide to create the content for your flipped class,
you have a lot of work ahead of you. It may take you a
few school years to achieve a 100% “flip” but if you
create a little bit of content at a time, you will have a
resource library that will be AMAZING!
Of course, you can always supplement your own content
with the content of others (we call this content curation)
that you have viewed and approve for use. Or, you can
decide that you don’t want to create and you just want
to use other’s content. That’s cool, too!

How Do You Build Your
Flipped Classroom?
Flip Tools for Mac
I create a lot of content on my
Macbook Air and I couldn’t
function without one tool in
particular: Screenflow. If
you’ve seen my screen
casting videos, they are all
made with this amazing
software. I even use it for
video editing on my other
videos!
Google Tools for
Flipping
Did you think I wouldn’t talk
about Google? HA! You can
use Google Drive to create
documents, make quizzes
with Google Forms (and
grade them automagically!)
and share content to anyone!
What’s not to love about
Want More Tools?
The debate rages over the best platform to use for
flipping your classroom. There has to be somewhere
that holds all of your content that you control. This
home would also ideally be secured and safe for your
students.
Lots of schools are already using Moodle, while tools like
Edmodo, CK-12, and more. All of them have their strong
and weak points.
Here’s my recommendation for building your flipped
classroom: start your own blog. With a blog, you can
add just about any functionality you want, especially if
you are using a self-hosted Wordpress blog.
Right now, I’m offering something special to teachers
that want to start their own blogs. Read more about
how you can get your own Wordpress blog, installed and
set up with some great tools, right here:
