1. Research Evaluation
From my questionnaire I found that every participant associated the colour blue with
college which made it an obvious choice to use as part of my colour scheme for my
college magazine front cover and contents page. The colour scheme will be
incorporated into the logo of the magazine as well as the rest of the text used will also
be blue as a participant in the questionnaire said that they find it eye-catching and I
agree. The colour red was also mentioned and I will use this for the word ‘exclusive’.
My research from the college magazines that I have studied have the central image
either covering the masthead or not. My magazine will have the masthead placed in an
easily visible area while the brand is being established. After the magazine starts to
maintain a decent number of circulation the positioning of the masthead can start to be
more creative. However if I decide to go for a short title for the magazine it is easier for
people to remember and wont be able to be covered which will be a major consideration
when creating my own college magazine front cover.
My questionnaire also helped to form the types of articles that I am to include in my
college magazines. A lot of people said that they wanted to see music articles in the
magazine which means I will be most likely to include an article based on music.
