The Most Important Habits In Life
I will be talking about effects in life of the 3 habits. Also, the three habit are proactive, begin with
the end in mind and First thing First. i will be talking about how we use it in life and how important
it is.
The 3 most Important Habits
One of the most important habits in life is being proactive. For example, you choose if you want to
be a proactive person or a reactive person. The book states, "Each day you and I get about 100
chances to choose whether to be proactive or reactive." Proactiveness is blaming problems on
oneself instead of another person. You are responsible for making mature decisions that help rather
than hurt personal growth. To be proactive is to take charge of your own life as author Sean Covey
states, " You are in charge of your own life, nothing else is really possible." It pays to be proactive,
but it takes effort and time since it means making things happen for yourself– not waiting.
I use proactiveness in my life is by " thinking before answering a problem, like math." Being
proactive in your life helps to get through tough times easier since you learn to take ownership of
your problems. Personally, I solve my own problems and ask nobody for help if I can handle it.
Additionally, proactive people behave well in settings such as work, school, and community.
Reason to be proactive because it can help in work life through employees being " accountable and
responsible," this further "puts you

Informative Speech On Reactive Attachment Disorder
Greetings Ladrena! I thoroughly enjoyed your informative post.
In your post, you gave a great example of how neurological disorders can be more physically
affective, while others might affect one's behavior. As we have learned, many of the neurological
disorders can occur within the first few years of a child's life. Reactive attachment disorder (RAD) is
another disorder that impacts a child's behavior. According to Broderick & Blewitt (2015), "The
disorder is characterized by highly disturbed and inappropriate social relatedness in early childhood
(beginning before age 5) which is not due to other mental disorders (e.g., ADHD, ODD, or CD) or
to developmental delay (e.g., MR and PDD) (p.162). RAD can form in a child that has experienced
neglect

Reactive Attachment Disorder
Abigail Pelletier
Psychology
Dr. Michaud Abstract
Having any kind of disorder can be straining on a child and all whom are involved in their
environment. Having one that is forced upon, not hereditary, and caused by the people who are
supposed to love and care for the children the most, is truly strenuous. Reactive Attachment
Disorder can affect a child in every form, but most of all, it damages their soul. It effortlessly harms
a child's beautiful core, and easily drains their once vibrant colors. It is considered a rabid fire that
engulf the child's perspective on the world around them, and it is extremely hard to alter that
perception. RAD strikes every aspect of a child, and the damage cannot ... Show more content on

There is no standard treatment for RAD, and there is no "magic" pill that fixes it. Though, it usually
includes a lot of the same elements, which includes psychological counseling, medication, and
family or play therapy. Another element is close and physical contact with the child and special
education services. It usually involves a team of professionals who specialize in attachment
disorders. It is crucial to try to treat RAD as early as possible. The main goal of treatment is to try to
provide the child a safe, secure, and loving environment so "that the child can begin and continue to
form a relationship with the parent or caregiver, to help the child increase their self–esteem and form
positive relationships with the people and world around them" (MFMER,

Why Do People Use Reactive People
These habits are very important because if you don't use them you may lose something you love.
Reactive people are people that do something without thinking about what will happen or
consequences. proactive people we're people think before they speak and doing something.
Proactive people give opportunities and chances to other people so they do not become reactive.
Proactive people are like a different breed because they make better choices and don't make choices
that reactive people make. Reactive people don't take responsibility for what they do or did and how
they acted. Reactive people think that they will never change they will always stay the same while
Proactive people try their best every time and know they can improve. This chapter will help you
deal with life if you use it so that you don't have that much trouble with things in the future.
This talks about the life habits you can pass on to your child for kids. This just mostly talks about
life problems and habits and to acquire through these complications and how to rise above them. For
Example Pause what you're thinking and control what you are doing or going to do and control what
your doing by using this quote "Just push pause". Taking responsibilities for your life
Victims think that the world wants to take them down and don't want to succeed so they go around
blaming anyone they can find and think the world owes them everything. They are a kind of breed
that don't take responsibly for their actions

Reactive Attachment Disorder Case Study
The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (5th ed.; DSM–5; American Psychiatric
Association, 2013) defined Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD) as, "a consistent patterns of
emotionally withdrawn behavior towards adult caregivers" (p. 265). There is a variety of criteria for
RAD, the first is that the child does not seek comfort when distress and they often do not respond to
comfort when distressed. Second, the child lacks social and emotional responsiveness with
unexplained episodes of irritability, sadness, or fearfulness even during non–threatening interactions
with adult caregivers. The third criteria are that there is a continuing absence from caregivers
involving basic emotional needs for comfort, stimulation, and affection (APA, 2013). In addition,
RAD could be developed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Attachments and relationships are developed at a young age and any distressed or non–existent
attachments can affect the child's developing brain and their future relationships with caregivers and
others. Though not true for all, many cases of RAD are attributed to children who grow up in
institutions or have been adopted and/or placed in foster homes (APA, 2013). Children who grow up
experiencing social neglect and deprivation can experience disinhibited behavior. These children
will over–ride their developing brain that helps them differentiate directed attachments because they
will seek emotional support at any cost (Minnis et al., 2006). On the other hand, other children may
avoid and internalize feelings due the social neglect they experienced. Both varieties of behavior
results from unstable and neglectful relationships from caregivers and other prominent figures in the
life of the

The Seven Habits Of Highly Effective Teens
Being a teenager can be hard. The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens, was written to help teens
understand the different ways that they can improve themselves and the way they handle difficult
situations. The book talks about common, everyday problems that teenagers might be facing, and
how they can overcome them.
Habit one says that you should be proactive rather than reactive. A proactive person is someone who
takes responsibility for their actions and is able to forgive people. They understand that there are
better, more fulfilling things in life than revenge. A reactive person often blames others for their
problems, even when they are most likely the ones at fault. They hold grudges and have a hard time
things go. Being proactive is important because if you go through life blaming other people for your
mistakes, you're not going to get anywhere. By not taking responsibility for yourself, you are
allowing your success to get farther away from your grasp. From this chapter, I have learned that in
order to be successful, This chapter should have been able to teach you that you need to take
responsibility for yourself, and that you can't blame others for your mistakes. You can apply this to
my life by being honest with people and by remaining calm in difficult situations.
The next habit states that you have to begin with the end in mind. You have to know what you're
working towards before you start working. If you don't have a goal in mind, you'll spend your life

Effects Of Mitochondrial Reactive Oxygen Species ( MPROS )
Mitochondrial reactive oxygen species (mROS) can have two effects on the mitochondria when
produced in excess. It can result in the activation of protective pathways in the mitochondria as well
as activate the opening of the mitochondrial permeability transition pore (mPTP). The mPTP core is
speculated to have come from the ATP synthase dimer and can arrange into a nonselective channel.
The opening function of the mPTP is normal within the mitochondria, but long and frequent opening
of the pore is predicted to increase aging and the chance of developing degenerative diseases. mROS
is further produced when the mPTP opens for long periods of time as well as the release of calcium,
NAD+, and glutathione. Excessive release of these metabolites ... Show more content on

This new study further supported the idea that frequent and long openings of the mPTP are
associated with the advance of aging. Another example of this circular effect is the opening of the
mPTP leads to the release of NAD+ which also leads to longer openings of mPTP. The original
opening of the mPTP can be caused by the excessive production of mROS which can either cause
further opening of the mPTP due to the release of NAD+ or interestingly enough, induce a
protective pathway that protects the mitochondria from the damage of the openings. However, the
loss of NAD+ can lead to inflammation and, in even small amounts, inhibit the protection pathways
that protect the mitochondria from the pore openings. Aging increases the amount of mROS
produced and results in more frequent openings of the mPTP. It is possible that the pore opening
event can lead to the exit of mROS into the cytosol of the cell, however it could also lead to more
oxidative stress and further opening of the pore. mROS also effects the electron transport chain
which forces these complexes to become part of the circular effect causing more oxidative damage
and more openings of the pore. The researchers in this study believe that is it possible that aging is
not fully responsible for the inhibition of the electron transport chain since it could be just a result of
prolonged opening of the mPTP. To support this theory, old rats that were observed to have inhibited
electron transport chains were given

Reactive Arthritis
Reactive arthritis is an autoimmune disorder in a group of spondyloarthropathies (SpAs), developing
after bacterial infections. In the US, Yersinia, Salmonella, Shigella, or Campylobacter spp. are
common for enteric infections with the incidence of 1%–4%, approximately, and equally found in
males and females. On the other hand, Chlamydia trachomatis is the most common in genitourinary
infections and more commonly found in males than females especially young men at 30s. Yet, the
epidemiology of ReA can be indicated only by estimation due to the lack of specific diagnostic
criteria and definition of the disease. The incidence and prevalence differ from time to time depend
on genetic differences, lifestyles, and environments between populations. ... Show more content on

The similarities between the HLA–B27 molecule and the proteins in pathogens; Yersinia,
Chlamydia, or Shigella, create a cross–reactivity, which triggering an immune response, and could
lead to tolerance and persistence of organisms. 3 Also, the allele of HLA–B27 possesses an unpaired
cysteine which could allow the formation of unusual forms of HLA–B27, like homodimers and
heterodimers. These unusual forms of HLA–B27 are subsequently recognized by CD4 T cells and
bind to peptides stimulating an immune response. 2 Furthermore, another hypothesis about the role
of HLA–B27 resulted from the observation to the response of HeLa cells transfected with HLA–B27
to in vitro bacterial invasion, thus HLA–B27 cells oblige bacterial survival differently from control
cells. This could explain the different signals of HLA–B27 from other HLA alleles that when HLA–
B27 is folding inside the endoplasmic reticulum, it folds significantly slowly. Hence, B27 has a
tendency to misfold and lead to stress response. 3 Finally, another interesting theory claims that
HLA–B27 has insufficiency of the ability to eliminate infected macrophages normally and some of
bacterial adhesion molecules, like Yersinia and salmonella, use HLA–B27 as a ligand to attach to
synovium cells. 3 The presence of HLA–B27 can predict a severity and a prolonged of

Reactive Attachment
Development is an essential and mandatory constituent of human life that operates on multiple
levels. It is a precise process, and there are a number of factors that affect its effectiveness. In
particular, the development of a child is determinant of the adolescent behaviors, uniqueness and
intelligence. Therefore, a considerable degree of weight is placed on the components that lead to the
maturity of the child. In the development of a child, one of the key principles is called attachment.
Just as safe attachment between the caregiver and the child can result in successful physical, mental
and social development, vulnerable attachment can yield damaging consequences for the child in
these areas (DeMulder, Denham, Schmidt, & Mitchell, 2000). Reactive attachment disorder is a
likely outcome of unsafe attachment that eventually restricts the child's capacity to emotionally and
socially connect with other individuals, while destroying the cognitive ability as well (Crosson–
Tower, 2013). This paper presents a detailed discussion on the attachment disorder in children and
its impact on child development. Reactive Attachment Disorder The term "attachment" refers to the

While improper attachment between the care provider and the child may put the latter at risk of
developing psychosocial problems, not every child with unsafe attachment develops reactive
attachment disorder (Kennedy & Kennedy, 2004). A couple of variants of reactive attachment
disorder have been discovered. Restrained reactive attachment disorder develops in a child who is
aloof and socially and emotionally detached, shows resistance towards love and holds back the
emotions. Unrestrained reactive attachment disorder involves the child showing impartial sociability
and expressing more friendliness towards unknown persons than the primary care

Reactive Attachment Disorder
Reactive Attachment Disorder is a common infancy/early childhood disorder. Reactive attachment
disorder is located under the trauma– and stressors–related disorder section of the Diagnostic and
Statistical Manuel of Mental Disorders (DSM–5), Fifth Edition. It is normally diagnosed when an
infant or child experience expresses a minimal attachment to a figure for nurturance, comfort,
support, and protection. Although children diagnosed with reactive attachment disorder have the
ability to select their attachment figure, they fail to show behavioral manifestation because they had
limited access during the early developmental stage. Some disturbed behaviors include diminished
or absence of positive emotions toward caregiver. In addition, ... Show more content on

Corbin (2007) describes reactive attachment disorder as a biopsychosocial disturbance of
attachment. There is interconnectedness between the brain and body which helps explain the
development of relationships. Reactive attachment disorder has been known to be caused by a
primary caregiver's lack of affection where, in turn, the infant or child experience neglect or abuse,
difficulty coping, inability to function in families, at school or with peers (Taylor, 2002; Wimmer,
Vonk, & Bordnick, 2009; Becker–Weidman, 2006 ). In a recent case study, a child diagnosed with
reactive attachment disorder had a background of their biological parent being a cocaine and an
alcohol addict, therefore, causing the child to exhibit symptoms such as demanding behavior, social
isolation, lying, lack of cause and affect reasoning, and non–engaging and unaffectionate with
adopted parents. Moreover, in the process of diagnosing/assessing a child with RAD, it is important
to note that RAD is a term that has been used interchangeably with attachment disorder by therapist;
they are not intended to be understood as synonyms. While having a history of pathogenic care is
required before diagnosing a child with RAD, it would not be surprising that the child has had a
history of significant injuries and a report of poor mental health (Center for Child & Family Health,
2009). According to the

Reactive Attachment Disorder
Reactive Attachment Disorder
What are the consequences when children are not given the love, a sense of safety, and care they
need? While some of the behaviors of Reactive Attachment Disorder has been noted as far back as
the mid–20th century (Fox and Zeanah 32), and was not even introduced as a disorder until 1980 in
the 3rd edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (Gleason and Zeanah
207). Children have been exhibiting the symptoms of Reactive Attachment Disorder long before
scientist started documenting it. During the early years, not much was known about Reactive
Attachment Disorder, although scientist have learned much about this disorder since. Unfortunately,
it is a common misconception that only adopted children have this disorder. The thought is that
children taken from their parental units by state officials or from orphanages, mostly from overseas,
at a young age and placed into new homes caused this problem, but this has since been found to be
untrue. Children that do not receive the nurturing love, the feeling of safety, and are abused in many
different ways will have this disorder. The life of a child diagnosed with Reactive Attachment
Disorder can be extremely difficult due to the characteristic angry outbursts, the habitual telling of
untruths, and recurrent stealing which can cause the people around them have a difficult time
making a connection with them.

Redemption In The Reactive
The Reactive: close, but not yet redemptive According to Theological understandings, redemption
refers to how humans can restore their relationship with God after having fallen from sin. It is
deliverance from evil. In literature, however, redemption is a theme which acknowledges the human
potential to succeed after failure. In light of this definition, therefore, the writer is not convinced that
The Reactive by Masande Ntshange is a redemptive novel. Throughout the locations and spaces
Lindanathi finds him in, his mindset does not change considerably to the point where it would be
suitable to describe the novel as redemptive fiction. It is true that at the end of the novel Lindanathi
does exhibit some signs of having the potential to succeed after failure; however, one instance surely

The reader often receives the impression that Lindanathi believes that life is meaningless. While this
is understandable considering the fact that death can have the effect of removing all meaning from
life, in Lindanathi's case, this is an attitude that is present for the most part of the novel. This is most
evidenced in the game him and his play friends play called Last Life. Furthermore, it is evidenced
by his well thought out scheme of selling his HIV medication instead of taking as he should in order
to manage the virus. Last Life '' is the name [they] have come up with for what happen to [him]
during his last year on the planet'' (24); surely someone who ought to have the potential to redeem
his–self from failure to success would not spend most of his days entertaining talk about his last day
on earth; someone who holds this potential would not spend his days planning his death. Instead, he
would be working towards making sure that his current days on earth are as enjoyable as they can

Difference Between Reactive And Reactive Approach
The differences between reactive and proactive approaches to security vary greatly. In simple words,
a reactive approach is usually referring to a responsive action done after something has happened.
Whereas, a proactive approach is taking all the necessary actions in prior, in order to prevent
something from happening. An example of proactive approach related to security would be the
design of Wah Fu public housing estate located next to Waterfall Bay, Pok Fu Lam in Hong Kong's
Southern District. The reason why this old housing estate fits the example of proactive approach is
mainly due to the design and architect of the estate. Each block has a big square gap in the middle;
this enables neighbors to see across their apartments and report any suspicious activity or person.
However, due to the limited supply of land in Hong Kong, buildings with such designs have seized
to exist.
An example for reactive approach would be the establishment of the Counter Terrorism Response

Hong Kong, however as manpower is limited, many private institutions, corporations and
management buildings have hired security guards and installed CCTV cameras. In spite of that, due
to stringent privacy laws of Hong Kong, CCTV cameras can only cover so much. Moreover,
security guards in Hong Kong can easily apply for a license simply by attending a few hours of

Proactive And Reactive Aggression
Aggressive behavior in children brought by genetic factors increases or decreases depending on
environmental factors, according to the researchers at Université de Montréal. A candidate for PhD
in sociology, Stéphane Paquin, led the study on 555 sets of twins to determine the prevalence of
proactive and reactive aggression.
According to Dr. Leonard Berkowitz, aggression is any form of behavior that is intended to harm
someone physically or psychologically. Berkowitz's defines aggression with the clear purpose to
cause harm, not accident, to the subject. Aggression can be divided into two – proactive and
reactive.
Proactive aggression or instrumental aggression is driven by a purpose in mind that goes beyond the
intent to harm the subject. It is often calculated in which the person has control over the aggressive
action planned to harm another individual. On the other hand, reactive aggression is usually driven
by emotion with the goal to harm the subject. It is impulsive and fueled by strong emotions, such as
anger or fear.
In a given circumstance, the driving purpose of proactive aggression is often associated with a
motive. The aggression can be motivated by a desire to change the victim's behavior, desire to
dominate another individual, and desire to take revenge. For instance, a bullied person can plot plans
to cause purposeful harm or humiliation to their tormentors in an attempt to stop the bullying.
Another example can be referred to the act of domination over

Reactive Supervisors Essay
An entire industry, multiple government organizations and billions of dollars spent to govern,
monitor, and enforce safety. With all this oversight, why does safety fail? Anyone who deals with
safety on a day–to–day basis would love to have this question answered. Many people have lost
hair, sleep, patience, and time pondering, "how did this happen?" Most times through the course of
research and investigations, the answer is; safety fails when people routinely deviate from standard
without repercussion, supervision is inadequate, or when people begin to rush. Latent failure is the
term used to identify an error in the safety system that lays dormant for a period. Latent failures by

By not investing the possibilities that they may face nonstandard events in the future, they set
themselves and those in their charge up for issues. Supervisors who are able to look ahead at
impending issues will be able to react quicker and have better results. Even worse is the tendency
for reactive supervisors to become over reactive supervisors. Over reaction may come in many
forms but all will share one common trend, they will be detrimental to those they affect. Close–
minded supervisors and those that blindly enforce the standard are similar in nature but differ in
reason and drive. Close–mindedness is a product of refusing to see another's point of view where as
someone blindly enforcing standards may be doing so with all the best intentions but may not be
aware of the benefits of pushing for a change to the standard. Of all the supervisors for a safety
system, the most burdening is one that only identifies issues and shortcomings but never presents a
solution. The impact this style of supervision has on those under it cannot be understated it is
morally exhausting. Workers who constantly have to wade through issue after issue with an apparent
abandonment from the supervisors that never produce a solution will begin to get sloppy, apathetic,
and rush just to be done with

What Is Reactive Hypoglycemia?
According to the textbook, Understanding Medical Surgical Nursing, 5th ed., by Linda S. Williams
and Paula D. Hopper, "reactive hypoglycemia, also called postprandial hypoglycemia, occurs when
the blood glucose drops below a normal level following meals, usually below 50 mg/dL.
Hypoglycemia is most often a complication of diabetes treatment, but at times, it may occur without
the presence of diabetes. It may be a warning sign of impending diabetes" (Williams, Hopper 2015).

Williams and Hopper state that reactive hypoglycemia "may be due to abnormally high levels of
glucagon, or alternatively, to high levels of insulin. Other causes include previous GI surgery,
enzyme deficiencies, and pregnancy, among others" (Williams, Hopper 2015). In the medical
research community supporting this condition, it seems as though the cause is largely still up for
debate. The NIDDK says "Some researchers suggest that certain people may be more sensitive to
the body's normal release of the hormone epinephrine, which causes many of the symptoms of
hypoglycemia. Others believe deficiencies in glucagon secretion might lead to reactive
hypoglycemia. A few causes of reactive hypoglycemia are certain, but they are uncommon. Gastric–
or stomach–surgery can cause reactive hypoglycemia because of the rapid passage of food into the
small intestine. Rare enzyme deficiencies diagnosed early in life, such as hereditary fructose
intolerance, also may cause reactive hypoglycemia" (NIDDK 2008). Sometimes thought to be a
warning sign of impending diabetes, reactive hypoglycemia can be indicative of pre–diabetes, so a
follow up with a physician after an episode of reactive hypoglycemia is strongly advised. If not to
diagnose and start treating symptoms of diabetes, then to rule out other possible

Random or reactive patrol occurs when someone calls for police help. This means that the police
will not respond until a call has been made requesting assistance. This method of policing is not the

Reactive Attachment Disorder Paper
Reactive Attachment Disorder is a psychological disorder which effects children and adults in the
United States. Reactive Attachment Disorder or "RAD", "is a rare but serious condition in which an
infant or young child doesn't establish healthy attachments with parents or caregivers" (Mayo Clinic
Staff, 2014). Adolescents suffer from reactive attachment disorder in the United States due to a lack
of appropriate parent care which can be cured through seeking the assistance of professionals.
RAD occurs, "when children have been unable to consistently connect with a parent or primary
caregiver" (Smith, Saisan, Segal, 2016). These causes occur in a child's "early life" (Smith et al.,
2016). RAD can occur for a number of reasons. Some of these ... Show more content on

One of the key elements of RAD therapy is incorporating a parenting skills class into the child's
counseling. The skills class should accomplish at least three goals. The first goal should be to
"educate" the parents about their child's disorder, the second goal should be to educate the parents to
"protect" themselves from the child's "pathology", the third goal should be to establish a "bond"
with the child through activities rather than therapy (Buenning, n.d.). By educating the parents about
why their child is behaving the way they are, the parents are able to relate to their child. This assists
the child in therapy because, "understanding your child often leads to increased feelings of
compassion for him" (Buenning,

Reactive Attachment Disorder And The Age Of Five And...
Reactive attachment disorder manifests before the age of five and affects how a child is able to
attach to their guardians, teachers, friends, authority figures, and any other person in their lives.
There are two recognized types of reactive attachment disorder. The inhibited type and the
disinhibited type (Rhodes, 2016). The inhibited type is "emotionally withdrawn" (Roberds & Davis,
2011). They do not initiate social relations or respond developmentally appropriately. The
disinhibited type could also be called "indiscriminate" (Roberds & Davis, 2011). They will look for
comfort or interaction from strangers or caregivers indiscriminately. They can also be "described as
shallow and attention seeking" (Roberds & Davis, 2011). Some of the symptoms of reactive
attachment disorder, or RAD, could stem from other disorders such as post–traumatic stress
disorder. "Children with RAD may lack empathy, may intentionally harm themselves or others, and

"The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People"
The book "The 7 Habits Of Highly Effective People" is a really interesting book. This makes you
think about how you are as a person and wonders if you are doing things right or if you are even
doing anything about it. It makes you think about whether or not you are an effective person. The
seven habits gives you a different perspective about life, your relationship with others, and a deeper
understanding on what it really means to be an effective and proactive person. Applying the
perspectives and habits into your life will really change you as a person. As a manager, employee, or

I am not only trying to change myself on the inside but I also have to change myself on the outside.
Covey (2004) discusses about the four dimensions of renewal that include: the physical, mental,
spiritual, and social/emotional dimensions (p. 300). It is cleansing my spiritual dimension by
meditating with peace or with God, or just rethinking about what my values and goals are in life. It
is renewing my physical dimension by eating the right foods, working out, and taking care of my
body. It is continuing to learn new things and being open to new ideas to renew my mental
dimension. Lastly, it is communicating effectively, synergizing, and creating relationships with
people to enhance my social/emotional dimension. Renewing myself can change my perspective on
life, how I perform at work and at school. It can change my attitude and my confidence in myself.
However, I need to work on the four dimensions in a balanced way. I must retain balance and make
sure that I am working on the renewal of the four dimensions because if I do not have balance, I will
have difficulty in accomplishing the renewal of another

Reactive Memory
Recent studies indicated that memory T lymphocytes contain distinct populations of central memory
(TCM) and effector memory (TEM) cells characterized by distinct homing capacity and effector
function. Protective memory is mediated by TEMs that migrate to inflamed peripheral tissues and
display immediate effector function, whereas reactive memory is mediated by TCMs that home to T
cell areas of secondary lymphoid organs, have little or no effector function, but readily proliferate
and differentiate to effector cells in response to antigenic stimulation (Lanzavecchia and Sallusto,
2000). T central memory cells Human TCMs are CD45RO+ memory cells that constitutively
express CCR7 and CD62L , two receptors that are also characteristic of naïve T cells, which are
required for cell extravasation through high endothelial venules (HEV) and migration to T cell areas
of secondary lymphoid organs (Campbell et al., 1998). When compared with naïve T cells, TCMs
have higher sensitivity to antigenic stimulation thus providing more effective stimulatory feedback
to dendritic cells (DCs) and B cells (Forster et al., 1999). Following TCR triggering, TCMs produce
mainly IL–2, but after proliferation they differentiate to effector cells and produce large amounts of
IL–4 of IFN–γ (Lanzavecchia and Sallusto, 2000). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Reactive Attachment Disorder ( Rad ) Treatment
Reactive attachment disorder (RAD) Treatment There are many treatments for RAD: inner child
work, cognitive restructuring, insight oriented therapy, holding therapy, re–parenting, cognitive
behavioral therapy, and theraplay to name a few. Nevertheless, some of them have proven to be
more effective than others, while some are highly controversial such as holding therapy which
consist of obligating the disordered child to hugged or force them to receive tokens of affection
against their will. Re–parenting can also be somewhat controversial when parents of children have
been extremely abusive and children are no longer in their care (Day, 2001; Chaffin et al., 2006). A
treatment that has been effective across various cultures is theraplay; ... Show more content on

on parents or caregivers on provided descriptions to a therapist or psychologist; but should also be
centered on observations conducted by these professional. RAD should be only diagnosed by a

A Short Note On Blue Light Receptors : The Synthesis Of...
Cryptochromes are flavoprotein blue light receptors found throughout the biological Kingdom with
many important signaling roles. Recently, it has been shown that cryptochromes catalyse the
synthesis of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in the course of flavin reoxidation after blue light
exposure. Although ROS are themselves important cellular regulators, it has remained unclear
whether biosynthesis of ROS contributes to cryptochrome signaling. Here we show by fluorescence
imaging techniques that ROS accumulates in the plant nucleus within minutes after cryptochrome
activation by blue light, resulting in the activation of ROS regulated genes. Mutant alleles of
cryptochrome that retain the capacity to synthesize ROS are active in redox regulation even though
they have lost the ability to regulate photomorphogenesis. We conclude that ROS formation by
cryptochrome has a cellular signaling role that is distinct from the known mechanisms of light
induced conformational change regulating growth and development. These results suggest novel
optogenetic tools to induce ROS through targeted illumination of cryptochrome. Introduction
Cryptochromes are blue light sensing receptors that regulate many aspects of plant growth and
development, including de–etiolation, photomorphogenesis, the initiation of flowering, stress
response, and hormone signaling (ref). They play a particularly large role in nuclear transcript
regulation, with almost 10% of plant genes directly or indirectly under

Reactive Attachment Disorder Essay
Reactive attachment disorder is a result of a child not having a deep emotional connection with a
primary caregiver. Reactive attachment disorder is developed in children that may have received
extreme negative care and do not form a healthy emotional attachment with primary caregivers such
as parents before the age of five. This form of attachment isn't as common as other attachment
disorders. It is important for children to develop a sense of security and trust from the beginning of
life from primary caregivers. Parents' or caregivers' responsiveness to a child's needs can affect the
child's social and cognitive development. This responsiveness also builds the foundation for trust.

Once the child is in a safe environment with a trusted caregiver, the process of starting a healthy
relationship with that caregiver would be the next step. Another step may be to bring a psychiatrist
in to talk with the child and caregiver. Teaching proper parenting skills is highly important to be able
to teach the parents how to properly care for the child and show affection without causing any upset.
The caregiver will need to continue to show the child affection and meet the child's needs. There

years old and got put into foster care so I got away from the person who was abusing me for a

Reactive Attachment Disorder ( Rad ) Essay
Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD) was first introduced just over 20 years ago, with the
publication of DSM–III (American Psychiatric Association, 1980). In the DSM–IV. The disorder is
defined by aberrant social behavior that appears in early childhood and is evident cross
contextually(1994). The disorder describes aberrant social behaviors in young children that are
believed to derive from being reared in caregiving environments lacking species–typical nurturance
and stimulation, such as in instances such as maltreatment or institutional rearing. (First, M., &
Tasman, A. 2010) . In cases of RAD two major types of abnormalities have been cited; these include
an emotionally withdrawn/inhibited type and an indiscriminately social/disinhibited pattern (First,
M., & Tasman, A. 2010).Conditions in in foreign orphanages and institutions such as, multiple
caregivers, maltreatment, abuse, neglect, and others contribute to the inability for internationally
adopted children to form secure attachments. All of these factors contribute to internationally
adopted children being at a higher risk to develop attachment disorders such as RAD and other
behavioral problems. FIND THIS SOURCE AGAIN (Brian, S., Charles H., Z., & Michael, S.

In the U.S. 397,122 children are living without permanent families in the foster care system, as of
2012, more than 58,000 children in the U.S. foster care system were placed in institutions or group

Psychiatry's article "A Randomized Controlled Trial Comparing Foster Care and Institutional Care
for Children With Signs of Reactive Attachment Disorder" examines signs of emotionally
withdrawn and indiscriminately social reactive attachment disorder in three groups of young
Romanian children that were abandoned by their parents. The placement of children into an
institution was made by Romanian child protective officials. The research group ensured that no
child, once placed in foster care, through the Bucharest Early Intervention Project, would be
returned to an institutional setting, either during or after the study (Smyke, 2012). The article
follows perfect experimental design according to Introductory Psychology (Manley 2010). Three
groups were used in each condition of the independent variable which is the condition of care each
child receives. The three groups were: children that were placed into institutionalized care, children

Since reading the chapter I have handled a lot of situations differently. For instance a few weeks ago
there were some people spreading rumors about me while I wasn't there. My friend called me later
that day and was very upset. She told me what they had been saying and how mad she was that
people would say things like that. My response was "Alright that's too bad. That wasn't very cool of
them, but I won't let that ruin my week". My friend couldn't believe what I was saying. Usually I
would be the one that would just let it all boil up until I blew up on someone. Being proactive in this
situation really felt great. It was a good start. My goal is to start being proactive in these situation
and not let the little things bother me. Even though I need some work on being proactive I feel I
need the least work on sharpening the saw. Sharpening the saw means taking care of yourself. When
I first read this I thought well taking a few minutes a day to relax. That is easy, everyone does that.
However going on the chapter explained how sharpening the saw actually means taking care of the
four main aspects of yourself, body, brain, heart, and soul. I have always done a good job at taking
care of my body. Soccer is by far my favorite hobby. I am currently playing for Heritage, and in the
spring I play on a Saginaw Travel team. I also enjoy running in my free time. When it comes to

The Association Between Obesity And Elevated Levels Of C...
Background
A number of previous studies examine the association between obesity and elevated levels of C–
reactive protein (CRP), which is an inflammation and an indicator marker of cardiovascular disease.
Body mass index (BMI), waist circumference (WC), or waist–to–hip ratio (WHR), were used as
measures of obesity. These measures were classified based on the normal, overweight or obese
participant in most previous studies. However, these categorizations might lead to drop information.
This study aims to investigate a flexible nonlinear approach such as Fractional polynomial models
(FPs), to examine the association between obesity and C–reactive protein to select the best fitted
model within 44 potentially FP models.
Methods
This study ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The association between the ln(CRP) and BMI when estimated using the fractional polynomial
regression model exhibited a J–shaped pattern for women and men. The J–shape did not change for
the difference ethnicity. The women have more risk for elevated CRP level compared to men. A
deviance difference test yielded a significant perfection in model fit of –2 and –2 compared to other
BMI functions.
Conclusion
The fractional polynomial regression model shows a robust compared to categorization or other
linear or nonlinear models (e.g. quadratic model) for BMI. The model might be useful for other
health outcomes.
Introduction
Obesity is considered as one of the main factors that influence the healthy and unhealthy people. It
has also been linked to cardiovascular disease (CVD) either in childhood or in adulthood. In recent
time, inflammation is considered as one of the main majors of the initiation and development of
CVD. C–reactive protein (CRP) has been proved to be one of the important inflammatory markers
for predicting CVD risk. Besides, obesity is considered as one of the risk factors that potentially is a
reason of the CVD.
A few cross–sectional studies examine the association between CRP and obesity, and they found a
significant relationship. A systematic review study investigates the association between the CRP and
obesity by using body mass index measure

Abstract. Organizations are likely to encounter crisis in any forms at a certain point of time. This
paper focuses on competition crisis and intends to study how the application of different strategic
postures could influence the impact of the crisis. A collection of case studies from reactive and
proactive strategic postures were analyzed in the perspective of Adaptive Cycle.

organizational context, his wording is still valid. He hereby phrased in two sentences, what countless
researcher and authors tried to describe in their work elaborating on organizational change and the

Essay On Society In Jane Eyre
In the beginning of her life Jane's place in society and her inability to be happy because of such
deeply trouble her. Jane goes through a multitude of stages and places in life trying to find
somewhere she feels safe and morally sound so that she may allow herself in order to experience
happiness. It is often through introspection and observation of society that Jane comes into herself
and develops the principles and sensibility that she actively searched for to find peace and make
sense of the world as a child.
At a young Jane observes that beauty and status warrant kindness and in society which translates to
a woman being slightly freer to have desires. Prominent examples in her life at the time were Eliza
and Georgiana Reed who were able to be horrible little girls but were still doted upon by the adults
and expected to lead carefree happy lives. Because Jane so greatly differs from the two, being a poor
orphaned dependent of the family, she is regarded without kindness and love for the majority of her
time at Gateshead. Jane in childhood at Gateshead is reactive she regards herself prisoner to a life
that been detailed to her by members of the Reed family. It is perceived that all she is allowed in life
is misery because of her impoverished situation in society. As an impulsive child Jane wants nothing
more than to rebel against all whom try to put her in "her place" instead of giving her the love and
care a family should provide. It is only after Jane's psyche and

Reactive Attachment Disorder: Literature Review
The course of reactive attachment disorder is not well studied, but through reviewing literature, it is
evident that a larger amount of individuals diagnosed with reactive attachment disorder are children
who have experienced serious forms of neglect or abuse, or have been brought up in institutional
settings, and consequently exhibit signs of reactive attachment disorder (Boris & Zeanah, 2005).
The prevalence of reactive attachment disorder that has been studied in the general population was
found to be prevailing in 1.4%. Being that this is a relatively higher number found within the
general population, it is crucial to understand the additional needs of these children (Pritchett,
Pritchett, Marshall, Davidson, & Minnis, 2013).

As mentioned, developmental delays can occur in individuals that are diagnosed with reactive
attachment disorder, but this should not be the only factor. Children who have an intellectual
disability exhibit emotional and social abilities similar to their cognitive skills, and contrasting from
children with reactive attachment disorder who exhibit a significant decrease in positive affect and
their ability to regulate their emotions. An additional difference between the two diagnoses is that
children with developmental delays who have reached a cognitive age of seven to nine months
should be establishing selective attachments with caregivers in their life regardless of their
chronological age, whereas children with reactive attachment disorder who have a cognitive age of
at least nine months show a deficit in attaining those relationships (APA,

Carboxylic acids (Lactic, propionic, caproic, acetic, picolinic etc.) are chemicals extensively used in
pharmaceutical, food and other allied industries, as they find diverse application as reactants,
solvents and even as catalysts in a few work instances (Talnikar et al., 2014). These acids when
obtained by fermentation of sugars, the presence of fermentation by–products, media impurities &
additives like antifoam agents interfere in purification process (Pursell et al., 2009). During
fermentation acids are produced essentially as mixture and mostly dilute solutions are obtained.
Moreover during hetero–fermentation the broth contains mixture of acids as final product (Abdel–

Reactive Attachment Disorder Of Children
Reactive Attachment Disorder in Children
Introduction to the Diagnosis
According to Bowlby, the founder of attachment theory, a dependable, safe, and caring relationship
with a primary caregiver is vital to an infant's psychological health (Bowlby, 1951). In particular,
children lacking a secure attachment with their primary caregivers are at risk of developing
emotional and behavioral issues (Blakely & Dziadosz, 2015). Unfortunately, the human bonds
normally formed in infancy are fractured in neglected and abused children suffering from RAD (Shi,
2014). As a result, these children become withdrawn, distrustful, and fearful of the world (Shi,
2014).
RAD is located under Trauma and Stressor–Related Disorders in the Diagnostic and ... Show more

Notably, one quarter of children living in the United States will suffer from neglect and/or abuse
during their lifetime (CDC, 2016). As a consequence, the welfare system places at risk children in
foster homes, group homes, and institutions (Department of Health and Human Services (US
Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children Youth and Families, 2015).
According to the Adoption and Foster Care Analysis and Reporting System (AFCARS), in 2014,
over 400,000 children were placed into foster care with over 100,000 were waiting to be adopted
(US Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children Youth and Families,
2015). The majority of children in foster care are White (42%), the second highest are Blacks (24%)
and third are Hispanics (22%) (US Department of Health and Human Services Administration for
Children Youth and Families, 2015). Also, 52% are male and 48% are female (US Department of
Health and Human Services Administration for Children Youth and Families, 2015). Most children,
46%, were placed in a non–relative home and 29% with a relative (US Department of Health and

Reactive Attachment Analysis
Infant's interactions with their caregivers is an important part of the infancy stage. During this stage
the attachments that are developed can determined the child's attachments in the future. Some
children do not form appropriate attachments in their infancy which may cause issues down the
road. One of the clinical problems that failed attachments can cause is Reactive Attachment disorder.
In the book The Boy Who Was Raised As A Dog the author Bruce D. Perry talks about a boy, James,

The Most Important Habits In Life

  • 1. The Most Important Habits In Life I will be talking about effects in life of the 3 habits. Also, the three habit are proactive, begin with the end in mind and First thing First. i will be talking about how we use it in life and how important it is. The 3 most Important Habits One of the most important habits in life is being proactive. For example, you choose if you want to be a proactive person or a reactive person. The book states, "Each day you and I get about 100 chances to choose whether to be proactive or reactive." Proactiveness is blaming problems on oneself instead of another person. You are responsible for making mature decisions that help rather than hurt personal growth. To be proactive is to take charge of your own life as author Sean Covey states, " You are in charge of your own life, nothing else is really possible." It pays to be proactive, but it takes effort and time since it means making things happen for yourself– not waiting. I use proactiveness in my life is by " thinking before answering a problem, like math." Being proactive in your life helps to get through tough times easier since you learn to take ownership of your problems. Personally, I solve my own problems and ask nobody for help if I can handle it. Additionally, proactive people behave well in settings such as work, school, and community. Reason to be proactive because it can help in work life through employees being " accountable and responsible," this further "puts you ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. Informative Speech On Reactive Attachment Disorder Greetings Ladrena! I thoroughly enjoyed your informative post. In your post, you gave a great example of how neurological disorders can be more physically affective, while others might affect one's behavior. As we have learned, many of the neurological disorders can occur within the first few years of a child's life. Reactive attachment disorder (RAD) is another disorder that impacts a child's behavior. According to Broderick & Blewitt (2015), "The disorder is characterized by highly disturbed and inappropriate social relatedness in early childhood (beginning before age 5) which is not due to other mental disorders (e.g., ADHD, ODD, or CD) or to developmental delay (e.g., MR and PDD) (p.162). RAD can form in a child that has experienced neglect ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Reactive Attachment Disorder Research Paper Reactive Attachment Disorder Abigail Pelletier Psychology Dr. Michaud Abstract Having any kind of disorder can be straining on a child and all whom are involved in their environment. Having one that is forced upon, not hereditary, and caused by the people who are supposed to love and care for the children the most, is truly strenuous. Reactive Attachment Disorder can affect a child in every form, but most of all, it damages their soul. It effortlessly harms a child's beautiful core, and easily drains their once vibrant colors. It is considered a rabid fire that engulf the child's perspective on the world around them, and it is extremely hard to alter that perception. RAD strikes every aspect of a child, and the damage cannot ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There is no standard treatment for RAD, and there is no "magic" pill that fixes it. Though, it usually includes a lot of the same elements, which includes psychological counseling, medication, and family or play therapy. Another element is close and physical contact with the child and special education services. It usually involves a team of professionals who specialize in attachment disorders. It is crucial to try to treat RAD as early as possible. The main goal of treatment is to try to provide the child a safe, secure, and loving environment so "that the child can begin and continue to form a relationship with the parent or caregiver, to help the child increase their self–esteem and form positive relationships with the people and world around them" (MFMER, ... • 7. Why Do People Use Reactive People These habits are very important because if you don't use them you may lose something you love. Reactive people are people that do something without thinking about what will happen or consequences. proactive people we're people think before they speak and doing something. Proactive people give opportunities and chances to other people so they do not become reactive. Proactive people are like a different breed because they make better choices and don't make choices that reactive people make. Reactive people don't take responsibility for what they do or did and how they acted. Reactive people think that they will never change they will always stay the same while Proactive people try their best every time and know they can improve. This chapter will help you deal with life if you use it so that you don't have that much trouble with things in the future. This talks about the life habits you can pass on to your child for kids. This just mostly talks about life problems and habits and to acquire through these complications and how to rise above them. For Example Pause what you're thinking and control what you are doing or going to do and control what your doing by using this quote "Just push pause". Taking responsibilities for your life Victims think that the world wants to take them down and don't want to succeed so they go around blaming anyone they can find and think the world owes them everything. They are a kind of breed that don't take responsibly for their actions ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Reactive Attachment Disorder Case Study The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (5th ed.; DSM–5; American Psychiatric Association, 2013) defined Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD) as, "a consistent patterns of emotionally withdrawn behavior towards adult caregivers" (p. 265). There is a variety of criteria for RAD, the first is that the child does not seek comfort when distress and they often do not respond to comfort when distressed. Second, the child lacks social and emotional responsiveness with unexplained episodes of irritability, sadness, or fearfulness even during non–threatening interactions with adult caregivers. The third criteria are that there is a continuing absence from caregivers involving basic emotional needs for comfort, stimulation, and affection (APA, 2013). In addition, RAD could be developed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Attachments and relationships are developed at a young age and any distressed or non–existent attachments can affect the child's developing brain and their future relationships with caregivers and others. Though not true for all, many cases of RAD are attributed to children who grow up in institutions or have been adopted and/or placed in foster homes (APA, 2013). Children who grow up experiencing social neglect and deprivation can experience disinhibited behavior. These children will over–ride their developing brain that helps them differentiate directed attachments because they will seek emotional support at any cost (Minnis et al., 2006). On the other hand, other children may avoid and internalize feelings due the social neglect they experienced. Both varieties of behavior results from unstable and neglectful relationships from caregivers and other prominent figures in the life of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. The Seven Habits Of Highly Effective Teens Being a teenager can be hard. The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens, was written to help teens understand the different ways that they can improve themselves and the way they handle difficult situations. The book talks about common, everyday problems that teenagers might be facing, and how they can overcome them. Habit one says that you should be proactive rather than reactive. A proactive person is someone who takes responsibility for their actions and is able to forgive people. They understand that there are better, more fulfilling things in life than revenge. A reactive person often blames others for their problems, even when they are most likely the ones at fault. They hold grudges and have a hard time things go. Being proactive is important because if you go through life blaming other people for your mistakes, you're not going to get anywhere. By not taking responsibility for yourself, you are allowing your success to get farther away from your grasp. From this chapter, I have learned that in order to be successful, This chapter should have been able to teach you that you need to take responsibility for yourself, and that you can't blame others for your mistakes. You can apply this to my life by being honest with people and by remaining calm in difficult situations. The next habit states that you have to begin with the end in mind. You have to know what you're working towards before you start working. If you don't have a goal in mind, you'll spend your life ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Effects Of Mitochondrial Reactive Oxygen Species ( MPROS ) Mitochondrial reactive oxygen species (mROS) can have two effects on the mitochondria when produced in excess. It can result in the activation of protective pathways in the mitochondria as well as activate the opening of the mitochondrial permeability transition pore (mPTP). The mPTP core is speculated to have come from the ATP synthase dimer and can arrange into a nonselective channel. The opening function of the mPTP is normal within the mitochondria, but long and frequent opening of the pore is predicted to increase aging and the chance of developing degenerative diseases. mROS is further produced when the mPTP opens for long periods of time as well as the release of calcium, NAD+, and glutathione. Excessive release of these metabolites ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This new study further supported the idea that frequent and long openings of the mPTP are associated with the advance of aging. Another example of this circular effect is the opening of the mPTP leads to the release of NAD+ which also leads to longer openings of mPTP. The original opening of the mPTP can be caused by the excessive production of mROS which can either cause further opening of the mPTP due to the release of NAD+ or interestingly enough, induce a protective pathway that protects the mitochondria from the damage of the openings. However, the loss of NAD+ can lead to inflammation and, in even small amounts, inhibit the protection pathways that protect the mitochondria from the pore openings. Aging increases the amount of mROS produced and results in more frequent openings of the mPTP. It is possible that the pore opening event can lead to the exit of mROS into the cytosol of the cell, however it could also lead to more oxidative stress and further opening of the pore. mROS also effects the electron transport chain which forces these complexes to become part of the circular effect causing more oxidative damage and more openings of the pore. The researchers in this study believe that is it possible that aging is not fully responsible for the inhibition of the electron transport chain since it could be just a result of prolonged opening of the mPTP. To support this theory, old rats that were observed to have inhibited electron transport chains were given ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 15. Reactive Arthritis Reactive arthritis is an autoimmune disorder in a group of spondyloarthropathies (SpAs), developing after bacterial infections. In the US, Yersinia, Salmonella, Shigella, or Campylobacter spp. are common for enteric infections with the incidence of 1%–4%, approximately, and equally found in males and females. On the other hand, Chlamydia trachomatis is the most common in genitourinary infections and more commonly found in males than females especially young men at 30s. Yet, the epidemiology of ReA can be indicated only by estimation due to the lack of specific diagnostic criteria and definition of the disease. The incidence and prevalence differ from time to time depend on genetic differences, lifestyles, and environments between populations. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The similarities between the HLA–B27 molecule and the proteins in pathogens; Yersinia, Chlamydia, or Shigella, create a cross–reactivity, which triggering an immune response, and could lead to tolerance and persistence of organisms. 3 Also, the allele of HLA–B27 possesses an unpaired cysteine which could allow the formation of unusual forms of HLA–B27, like homodimers and heterodimers. These unusual forms of HLA–B27 are subsequently recognized by CD4 T cells and bind to peptides stimulating an immune response. 2 Furthermore, another hypothesis about the role of HLA–B27 resulted from the observation to the response of HeLa cells transfected with HLA–B27 to in vitro bacterial invasion, thus HLA–B27 cells oblige bacterial survival differently from control cells. This could explain the different signals of HLA–B27 from other HLA alleles that when HLA– B27 is folding inside the endoplasmic reticulum, it folds significantly slowly. Hence, B27 has a tendency to misfold and lead to stress response. 3 Finally, another interesting theory claims that HLA–B27 has insufficiency of the ability to eliminate infected macrophages normally and some of bacterial adhesion molecules, like Yersinia and salmonella, use HLA–B27 as a ligand to attach to synovium cells. 3 The presence of HLA–B27 can predict a severity and a prolonged of ... • 17. Reactive Attachment Development is an essential and mandatory constituent of human life that operates on multiple levels. It is a precise process, and there are a number of factors that affect its effectiveness. In particular, the development of a child is determinant of the adolescent behaviors, uniqueness and intelligence. Therefore, a considerable degree of weight is placed on the components that lead to the maturity of the child. In the development of a child, one of the key principles is called attachment. Just as safe attachment between the caregiver and the child can result in successful physical, mental and social development, vulnerable attachment can yield damaging consequences for the child in these areas (DeMulder, Denham, Schmidt, & Mitchell, 2000). Reactive attachment disorder is a likely outcome of unsafe attachment that eventually restricts the child's capacity to emotionally and socially connect with other individuals, while destroying the cognitive ability as well (Crosson– Tower, 2013). This paper presents a detailed discussion on the attachment disorder in children and its impact on child development. Reactive Attachment Disorder The term "attachment" refers to the ... While improper attachment between the care provider and the child may put the latter at risk of developing psychosocial problems, not every child with unsafe attachment develops reactive attachment disorder (Kennedy & Kennedy, 2004). A couple of variants of reactive attachment disorder have been discovered. Restrained reactive attachment disorder develops in a child who is aloof and socially and emotionally detached, shows resistance towards love and holds back the emotions. • 19. Reactive Attachment Disorder Reactive Attachment Disorder is a common infancy/early childhood disorder. Reactive attachment disorder is located under the trauma– and stressors–related disorder section of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manuel of Mental Disorders (DSM–5), Fifth Edition. It is normally diagnosed when an infant or child experience expresses a minimal attachment to a figure for nurturance, comfort, support, and protection. Although children diagnosed with reactive attachment disorder have the ability to select their attachment figure, they fail to show behavioral manifestation because they had limited access during the early developmental stage. Some disturbed behaviors include diminished or absence of positive emotions toward caregiver. In addition, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Corbin (2007) describes reactive attachment disorder as a biopsychosocial disturbance of attachment. There is interconnectedness between the brain and body which helps explain the development of relationships. Reactive attachment disorder has been known to be caused by a primary caregiver's lack of affection where, in turn, the infant or child experience neglect or abuse, difficulty coping, inability to function in families, at school or with peers (Taylor, 2002; Wimmer, Vonk, & Bordnick, 2009; Becker–Weidman, 2006 ). In a recent case study, a child diagnosed with reactive attachment disorder had a background of their biological parent being a cocaine and an alcohol addict, therefore, causing the child to exhibit symptoms such as demanding behavior, social isolation, lying, lack of cause and affect reasoning, and non–engaging and unaffectionate with adopted parents. Moreover, in the process of diagnosing/assessing a child with RAD, it is important to note that RAD is a term that has been used interchangeably with attachment disorder by therapist; they are not intended to be understood as synonyms. While having a history of pathogenic care is required before diagnosing a child with RAD, it would not be surprising that the child has had a history of significant injuries and a report of poor mental health (Center for Child & Family Health, 2009). • 21. Reactive Attachment Disorder Reactive Attachment Disorder What are the consequences when children are not given the love, a sense of safety, and care they need? While some of the behaviors of Reactive Attachment Disorder has been noted as far back as the mid–20th century (Fox and Zeanah 32), and was not even introduced as a disorder until 1980 in the 3rd edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (Gleason and Zeanah 207). Children have been exhibiting the symptoms of Reactive Attachment Disorder long before scientist started documenting it. During the early years, not much was known about Reactive Attachment Disorder, although scientist have learned much about this disorder since. Unfortunately, it is a common misconception that only adopted children have this disorder. The thought is that children taken from their parental units by state officials or from orphanages, mostly from overseas, at a young age and placed into new homes caused this problem, but this has since been found to be untrue. Children that do not receive the nurturing love, the feeling of safety, and are abused in many different ways will have this disorder. The life of a child diagnosed with Reactive Attachment Disorder can be extremely difficult due to the characteristic angry outbursts, the habitual telling of untruths, and recurrent stealing which can cause the people around them have a difficult time making a connection with them. • 23. Redemption In The Reactive The Reactive: close, but not yet redemptive According to Theological understandings, redemption refers to how humans can restore their relationship with God after having fallen from sin. It is deliverance from evil. In literature, however, redemption is a theme which acknowledges the human potential to succeed after failure. In light of this definition, therefore, the writer is not convinced that The Reactive by Masande Ntshange is a redemptive novel. Throughout the locations and spaces Lindanathi finds him in, his mindset does not change considerably to the point where it would be suitable to describe the novel as redemptive fiction. It is true that at the end of the novel Lindanathi does exhibit some signs of having the potential to succeed after failure; however, one instance surely cannot be enough ... This is most evidenced in the game him and his play friends play called Last Life. Furthermore, it is evidenced by his well thought out scheme of selling his HIV medication instead of taking as he should in order to manage the virus. Last Life '' is the name [they] have come up with for what happen to [him] during his last year on the planet'' (24); surely someone who ought to have the potential to redeem his–self from failure to success would not spend most of his days entertaining talk about his last day on earth; someone who holds this potential would not spend his days planning his death. • 27. Difference Between Reactive And Reactive Approach The differences between reactive and proactive approaches to security vary greatly. In simple words, a reactive approach is usually referring to a responsive action done after something has happened. Whereas, a proactive approach is taking all the necessary actions in prior, in order to prevent something from happening. An example of proactive approach related to security would be the design of Wah Fu public housing estate located next to Waterfall Bay, Pok Fu Lam in Hong Kong's Southern District. The reason why this old housing estate fits the example of proactive approach is mainly due to the design and architect of the estate. Each block has a big square gap in the middle; this enables neighbors to see across their apartments and report any suspicious activity or person. However, due to the limited supply of land in Hong Kong, buildings with such designs have seized to exist. First, let's talk about security in Hong Kong as of now. The first thing that comes to mind when we talk about security is safety and well–being. Hong Kong Police Force is responsible for the security of Hong Kong, however as manpower is limited, many private institutions, corporations and management buildings have hired security guards and installed CCTV cameras. • 29. Proactive And Reactive Aggression Aggressive behavior in children brought by genetic factors increases or decreases depending on environmental factors, according to the researchers at Université de Montréal. A candidate for PhD in sociology, Stéphane Paquin, led the study on 555 sets of twins to determine the prevalence of proactive and reactive aggression. According to Dr. Leonard Berkowitz, aggression is any form of behavior that is intended to harm someone physically or psychologically. Berkowitz's defines aggression with the clear purpose to cause harm, not accident, to the subject. Aggression can be divided into two – proactive and reactive. Proactive aggression or instrumental aggression is driven by a purpose in mind that goes beyond the intent to harm the subject. It is often calculated in which the person has control over the aggressive action planned to harm another individual. On the other hand, reactive aggression is usually driven by emotion with the goal to harm the subject. It is impulsive and fueled by strong emotions, such as anger or fear. In a given circumstance, the driving purpose of proactive aggression is often associated with a motive. The aggression can be motivated by a desire to change the victim's behavior, desire to dominate another individual, and desire to take revenge. For instance, a bullied person can plot plans to cause purposeful harm or humiliation to their tormentors in an attempt to stop the bullying. Another example can be referred to the act of domination over ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 31. Reactive Supervisors Essay An entire industry, multiple government organizations and billions of dollars spent to govern, monitor, and enforce safety. With all this oversight, why does safety fail? Anyone who deals with safety on a day–to–day basis would love to have this question answered. Many people have lost hair, sleep, patience, and time pondering, "how did this happen?" Most times through the course of research and investigations, the answer is; safety fails when people routinely deviate from standard without repercussion, supervision is inadequate, or when people begin to rush. Latent failure is the term used to identify an error in the safety system that lays dormant for a period. Latent failures by themselves seldom cause an accident but rather ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By not investing the possibilities that they may face nonstandard events in the future, they set themselves and those in their charge up for issues. Supervisors who are able to look ahead at impending issues will be able to react quicker and have better results. Even worse is the tendency for reactive supervisors to become over reactive supervisors. Over reaction may come in many forms but all will share one common trend, they will be detrimental to those they affect. Close– minded supervisors and those that blindly enforce the standard are similar in nature but differ in reason and drive. Close–mindedness is a product of refusing to see another's point of view where as someone blindly enforcing standards may be doing so with all the best intentions but may not be aware of the benefits of pushing for a change to the standard. Of all the supervisors for a safety system, the most burdening is one that only identifies issues and shortcomings but never presents a solution. The impact this style of supervision has on those under it cannot be understated it is morally exhausting. Workers who constantly have to wade through issue after issue with an apparent abandonment from the supervisors that never produce a solution will begin to get sloppy, apathetic, and rush just to be done with ... • 33. What Is Reactive Hypoglycemia? According to the textbook, Understanding Medical Surgical Nursing, 5th ed., by Linda S. Williams and Paula D. Hopper, "reactive hypoglycemia, also called postprandial hypoglycemia, occurs when the blood glucose drops below a normal level following meals, usually below 50 mg/dL. Hypoglycemia is most often a complication of diabetes treatment, but at times, it may occur without the presence of diabetes. It may be a warning sign of impending diabetes" (Williams, Hopper 2015). In other words, it is an abnormally low blood glucose following eating when blood glucose would typically rise. This can be caused by many different reasons, not solely because someone is a diabetic exhibiting complications. Symptoms are very similar to those of regular ... Other causes include previous GI surgery, enzyme deficiencies, and pregnancy, among others" (Williams, Hopper 2015). In the medical research community supporting this condition, it seems as though the cause is largely still up for debate. The NIDDK says "Some researchers suggest that certain people may be more sensitive to the body's normal release of the hormone epinephrine, which causes many of the symptoms of hypoglycemia. Others believe deficiencies in glucagon secretion might lead to reactive hypoglycemia. A few causes of reactive hypoglycemia are certain, but they are uncommon. Gastric– or stomach–surgery can cause reactive hypoglycemia because of the rapid passage of food into the small intestine. Rare enzyme deficiencies diagnosed early in life, such as hereditary fructose intolerance, also may cause reactive hypoglycemia" (NIDDK 2008). Sometimes thought to be a warning sign of impending diabetes, reactive hypoglycemia can be indicative of pre–diabetes, so a follow up with a physician after an episode of reactive hypoglycemia is strongly advised. What is the real definition of success? There are many definitions for many different people successes can mean anything to people. There is a reason success means different things to different people. It can mean a lot of different things because success can be when you achieve something you want when you fulfill your dream. Reactive people are people that do something without thinking about what will happen or the consequences. Proactive people are people that think before they speak and execute something. Proactive people give opportunities to other people which helps out many of people. Proactive people are a different breed because they make better choices but don't make choices that reactive people make. Reactive people don't take responsibility for what they do or did and how they acted. Reactive people think that they will never change, while they think that they will always stay the same while Proactive people try their best the whole time and now they can improve. Mallory initially comes to see Dr. Santos for what she descried as mild depressive symptoms. Patient/Client Mallory is a 25–year–old female. She said before coming that she is dissatisfied with multiple aspects of her life. She thought that she would be married or seriously involved with a romantic partner, but she was not. Although her job paid her bills, she found it boring and somewhat unfulfilling. She described mild depressive symptoms to Dr. Santos prior to her first visit. Symptoms and Diagnosis The patient claimed that she had mild depression before her visit. She said that she felt like her job was unfulfilling and that she was disappointed that she did not have a partner. Once she came and sat down with Dr. Santos, she would talk for about ten minutes and then interrupt herself by apologizing saying that the doctor was 'bored or had better things to do than listen to her'. • 41. Reactive Attachment Disorder Paper Reactive Attachment Disorder is a psychological disorder which effects children and adults in the United States. Reactive Attachment Disorder or "RAD", "is a rare but serious condition in which an infant or young child doesn't establish healthy attachments with parents or caregivers" (Mayo Clinic Staff, 2014). Adolescents suffer from reactive attachment disorder in the United States due to a lack of appropriate parent care which can be cured through seeking the assistance of professionals. RAD occurs, "when children have been unable to consistently connect with a parent or primary caregiver" (Smith, Saisan, Segal, 2016). These causes occur in a child's "early life" (Smith et al., 2016). RAD can occur for a number of reasons. Some of these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the key elements of RAD therapy is incorporating a parenting skills class into the child's counseling. The skills class should accomplish at least three goals. The first goal should be to "educate" the parents about their child's disorder, the second goal should be to educate the parents to "protect" themselves from the child's "pathology", the third goal should be to establish a "bond" with the child through activities rather than therapy (Buenning, n.d.). Reactive attachment disorder manifests before the age of five and affects how a child is able to attach to their guardians, teachers, friends, authority figures, and any other person in their lives. There are two recognized types of reactive attachment disorder. The inhibited type and the disinhibited type (Rhodes, 2016). The inhibited type is "emotionally withdrawn" (Roberds & Davis, 2011). They do not initiate social relations or respond developmentally appropriately. The disinhibited type could also be called "indiscriminate" (Roberds & Davis, 2011). They will look for comfort or interaction from strangers or caregivers indiscriminately. They can also be "described as shallow and attention seeking" (Roberds & Davis, 2011). Some of the symptoms of reactive attachment disorder, or RAD, could stem from other disorders such as post–traumatic stress disorder. "Children with RAD may lack empathy, may intentionally harm themselves or others, and may be hypervigilant. Children with RAD have also been observed to exhibit impulsive and self– endangering behaviors. They may generally struggle with emotional and behavioral regulation. Children diagnosed with RAD may have related issues stemming from abuse and neglect that are not part of RAD that also need professional attention. These include unattended medical conditions, as well as trouble with speech or language" (Roberds & Davis, 2011). Reactive Memory Recent studies indicated that memory T lymphocytes contain distinct populations of central memory (TCM) and effector memory (TEM) cells characterized by distinct homing capacity and effector function. Protective memory is mediated by TEMs that migrate to inflamed peripheral tissues and display immediate effector function, whereas reactive memory is mediated by TCMs that home to T cell areas of secondary lymphoid organs, have little or no effector function, but readily proliferate and differentiate to effector cells in response to antigenic stimulation (Lanzavecchia and Sallusto, 2000). T central memory cells Human TCMs are CD45RO+ memory cells that constitutively express CCR7 and CD62L , two receptors that are also characteristic of naïve T cells, which are required for cell extravasation through high endothelial venules (HEV) and migration to T cell areas of secondary lymphoid organs (Campbell et al., 1998). When compared with naïve T cells, TCMs have higher sensitivity to antigenic stimulation thus providing more effective stimulatory feedback to dendritic cells (DCs) and B cells (Forster et al., 1999). Following TCR triggering, TCMs produce mainly IL–2, but after proliferation they differentiate to effector cells and produce large amounts of IL–4 of IFN–γ (Lanzavecchia and Sallusto, 2000). ... • 51. A Short Note On Blue Light Receptors : The Synthesis Of... Cryptochromes are flavoprotein blue light receptors found throughout the biological Kingdom with many important signaling roles. Recently, it has been shown that cryptochromes catalyse the synthesis of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in the course of flavin reoxidation after blue light exposure. Although ROS are themselves important cellular regulators, it has remained unclear whether biosynthesis of ROS contributes to cryptochrome signaling. Here we show by fluorescence imaging techniques that ROS accumulates in the plant nucleus within minutes after cryptochrome activation by blue light, resulting in the activation of ROS regulated genes. Mutant alleles of cryptochrome that retain the capacity to synthesize ROS are active in redox regulation even though they have lost the ability to regulate photomorphogenesis. We conclude that ROS formation by cryptochrome has a cellular signaling role that is distinct from the known mechanisms of light induced conformational change regulating growth and development. These results suggest novel optogenetic tools to induce ROS through targeted illumination of cryptochrome. Introduction Cryptochromes are blue light sensing receptors that regulate many aspects of plant growth and development, including de–etiolation, photomorphogenesis, the initiation of flowering, stress response, and hormone signaling (ref). They play a particularly large role in nuclear transcript regulation, with almost 10% of plant genes directly or indirectly under ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Reactive attachment disorder is developed in children that may have received extreme negative care and do not form a healthy emotional attachment with primary caregivers such as parents before the age of five. This form of attachment isn't as common as other attachment disorders. It is important for children to develop a sense of security and trust from the beginning of life from primary caregivers. Reactive Attachment Disorder ( Rad ) Essay Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD) was first introduced just over 20 years ago, with the publication of DSM–III (American Psychiatric Association, 1980). In the DSM–IV. The disorder is defined by aberrant social behavior that appears in early childhood and is evident cross contextually(1994). The disorder describes aberrant social behaviors in young children that are believed to derive from being reared in caregiving environments lacking species–typical nurturance and stimulation, such as in instances such as maltreatment or institutional rearing. (First, M., & Tasman, A. 2010) . In cases of RAD two major types of abnormalities have been cited; these include an emotionally withdrawn/inhibited type and an indiscriminately social/disinhibited pattern (First, M., & Tasman, A. 2010).Conditions in in foreign orphanages and institutions such as, multiple caregivers, maltreatment, abuse, neglect, and others contribute to the inability for internationally adopted children to form secure attachments. Jane goes through a multitude of stages and places in life trying to find somewhere she feels safe and morally sound so that she may allow herself in order to experience happiness. It is often through introspection and observation of society that Jane comes into herself and develops the principles and sensibility that she actively searched for to find peace and make sense of the world as a child. At a young Jane observes that beauty and status warrant kindness and in society which translates to a woman being slightly freer to have desires. During fermentation acids are produced essentially as mixture and mostly dilute solutions are obtained. Moreover during hetero–fermentation the broth contains mixture of acids as final product (Abdel– Rahman et al., 2013). 2.2. Outline of the process for preparation of carboxylic acid from biomass The process for preparation of carboxylic acid from biomass includes pre–treatment and hydrolysis of agricultural waste to simple sugars. These sugars are than used as raw material for fermentation using microorganism to produce carboxylic acids. These acids are generated either in form of free ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Reactive Attachment Disorder Of Children Reactive Attachment Disorder in Children Introduction to the Diagnosis According to Bowlby, the founder of attachment theory, a dependable, safe, and caring relationship with a primary caregiver is vital to an infant's psychological health (Bowlby, 1951). In particular, children lacking a secure attachment with their primary caregivers are at risk of developing emotional and behavioral issues (Blakely & Dziadosz, 2015). Unfortunately, the human bonds normally formed in infancy are fractured in neglected and abused children suffering from RAD (Shi, 2014). As a result, these children become withdrawn, distrustful, and fearful of the world (Shi, 2014). RAD is located under Trauma and Stressor–Related Disorders in the Diagnostic and ... As a consequence, the welfare system places at risk children in foster homes, group homes, and institutions (Department of Health and Human Services (US Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children Youth and Families, 2015). According to the Adoption and Foster Care Analysis and Reporting System (AFCARS), in 2014, over 400,000 children were placed into foster care with over 100,000 were waiting to be adopted (US Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children Youth and Families, 2015). The majority of children in foster care are White (42%), the second highest are Blacks (24%) and third are Hispanics (22%) (US Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children Youth and Families, 2015). Also, 52% are male and 48% are female (US Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children Youth and Families, 2015). Most children, 46%, were placed in a non–relative home and 29% with a relative (US Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children Youth and Families, 2015). Additionally, 6% were sheltered in a group home and 8% in an institution (US Department of Health and Human ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 76. Reactive Attachment Analysis Infant's interactions with their caregivers is an important part of the infancy stage. During this stage the attachments that are developed can determined the child's attachments in the future. Some children do not form appropriate attachments in their infancy which may cause issues down the road. One of the clinical problems that failed attachments can cause is Reactive Attachment disorder. In the book The Boy Who Was Raised As A Dog the author Bruce D. Perry talks about a boy, James, whom is diagnosed with this disorder. Reactive attachment disorder is defined, James story was told, and things that can be learned from children that are ill. James story can be used as a teaching tool for those diagnosing or treating patients with reactive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Mom Is Hurting Me. Please Call the Police." Perry was asked by a judge to take a look at James case. James is a six year old boy, adopted at one year of age. The adopted mother Merle had been experiencing a difficult time with James behavior. James had seen more than one provider and had been diagnosed with RAD. After interviewing the boy, Perry and his colleague Stephanie did not believe that the boy was truly suffering from RAD. Perry and Stephanie took a close look at James and his history of running away, attempted suicide and injuries. They also took a closer look at James mother, Merle. They came to discover that James did not suffer from RAD but his adopted mother suffered from Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy. Munchausen syndrome by proxy is a mental illness and a form of child abuse. The caretaker of a child, usually a mother, either makes up fake symptoms or causes real symptoms to make it look like the child is sick (Kaneshiro, 2013).
