1. Why not CLIL?
TASK 4
K – W – L
When we are going to teach a topic it is really important to know what my students are
supposed to bring into the lesson, what I want to teach to them and what it is supposed to be
learnt at the end of the unit.
With the following chart you are asked to think about it.
K
What do my students know
about the topic before I
started the unit?
W
What do I want my student
to learn along this unit?
L
What have my students
learnt at the end of this
unit?
My students have to know
what is electricity, but just
because they use it with all
their electrical appliances.
They know that they have
charge their phone battery
and this is not for free, we
have to pay for the
electricity at home.
I want my students to learn
what is an electron and what
happens when electrons
move. I want my students to
analyse an electric circuit
with all the elements that
are involved. And finally,
sources of energy,
renewables and no
renewables, and how
electricity is produced and
look into why is so expensive
.
My students have learnt
what is an electron,
renewables and no
renewables sources of
energy. And also they have
been aware of the charge of
electricity and the real
problems with energy bills.
