2. WEB-BASED TUTORIAL-OVERVIEW, GOALS, AND OBJECTIVES II
Web-tutorials have various degrees of platforms. Many based on educational needs and
instructional designs. This Web-Based Tutorial “Managers in Re-training” will guide exsisting
managers and upcoming managers in becoming professionals. The tutorial will train managers
how to be more aware of the needs of the company and its employees through instructional
design and a web based platform. The tutorial will be intended to re-train management at Fairvue
Club, including the instructional goals and the performance objectives designed specifically for
the Fairvue team.
OVERVIEW
I have designed a presentation for the tutorial. The presentation will consist of a title
slide, and introduction, and will also have various media components such as graphics, colorful
texts, animation, and web links including a video clip from you tube. The presentation will help
me apply all the components needed in order to re-train managers. The tutorial will give step-by-
step instructions on how to complete certain tasks as well as engage the employees in a face-to-
face live demonstration. The presentation will allow me to apply the basic needs and still plug in
all the components necessary to create a successful tutorial.
The application of learning principles will be applied using various theories for adult
education. Before one can create a web-tutorial, one must know how the users will think and
react as well as how they will apply what they have learned. An evaluation of how managers at
Fairvue manage, will be included in the beginning as well.
INSTRUCTIONAL GOAL
3. Running Head: WEB BASED TUTORIAL SUMMARY
III
The goal of the web-tutorial will be to properly train management and up-coming
management on how to correctly perform their employee goals and create success within the
work place. Therefore the tutorial will also include engaging activities, step-by-step instructions
as stated earlier, and evaluations that can be applied personally through the staff. This will be
identified through the applied video.
The principles of usability and utility must be applied in order to successfully create an
user-centered design. The tutorial must be effective and sufficient for all those who will be using
the training. The individual on the other side of the computer screen must be able to easily
navigate and work through the tutorial. Other principles also include various components such as
contrast, repetition, and proximity. These principles will help align a successful web- tutorial.
PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
When an employee has finished the tutorial, he or she will have learned how to verbally
communicate within the workplace, complete successful workplace goals, and work together as a
team. The tutorial may also teach them how to create a more successful workplace outside their
personal jobs.
