21. Conclusion
More kids need to find out that learning is actually a
very exciting and fun process that relates to their
lives.
As Larry Page, CEO and Founder of Google said;
students want to do cool things that matter.
Our program hopes to fill a need to make a
difference for local businesses but more importantly
it will demonstrate to students that they can take
ownership of the future.
The world has become one big community. Change
is accelerating. Our children need to know this and
be ready to lead it.

Thank You for taking time out to learn about our work on the Student Innovation Center for high school kids. This work was done to meet the objectives for our NYU Poly Capstone Project and for our dear professor Joe Nadan.
American public schools are in a crisis that is being caused by a beuracratic top down process. Describe .NCLB and school budgets Michael Porter and Jan Rivkin did survey of almost 10000 Harvard grads on the competitive K-12 Education is clearly falling behind This is not an acceptable outcome
Tony Wagner is a well known Harvard ProfessorGrad in education studies has written two books and numerous articles and performed years of research on k-12 ed and business Has come up with 7 survival skills for the 21 c Tony Wagner recently accepted a position as the first Innovation Education Fellow at the Technology & Entrepreneurship Center at Harvard. Prior to this, he was the founder and co-director of the Change Leadership Group at the Harvard Graduate School of Education for more than a decade. Tony consults widely to schools, districts, and foundations around the country and internationally. His previous work experience includes twelve years as a high school teacher, K-8 principal, university professor in teacher education, and founding executive director of Educators for Social Responsibility. Tony is also a frequent speaker at national and international conferences and a widely published author. His work includes numerous articles and five books. Tony’s latest, Creating Innovators: The Making of Young People Who Will Change The World, has just been published by Simon & Schuster. Tony’s other titles include: Change Leadership: A Practical Guide to Transforming Our Schools, Making the Grade: Reinventing America’s Schools, and How Schools Change: Lessons from Three Communities Revisited. He has also recently collaborated with noted filmmaker Robert Compton to create a 60 minute documentary, “The Finnish Phenomenon: Inside The World’s Most Surprising School System.” .
In Tony Wagners recent book, Creating Innovators argues… practicing innovation on challenging projects students will develop all of the 21C skills at varying degrees… Widely known that companies need innovators to maintain competitive edge and that innovation is becoming more valuable as a skillset
Tech – moving faster than local businesses can keep up with Globalization is creating aggressive competition Recession created cash crisis Shift in consumer habits difficult to follow
Rent a space in town and Create a website that interconnects all the stakeholders. The Location of the student center is important to participants interaction and website is the tool to interconnect the teams , stakeholders and the planet.

This is called the Business Model Canvas developed by Alex Osterwalder Allows you to quickly place key stakeholder and activities in a graphical The Business Model Canvas is a strategic management template for developing new or documenting existing business models. It is a visual chart with elements describing a firm's value proposition, infrastructure, customers, and finances.[1] It assists firms in aligning their activities by illustrating potential trade-offs.
A scoring rubric is an attempt to communicate expectations of quality around a task. used to delineate consistent criteria for grading. Because the criteria are public, a scoring rubric allows teachers and students alike to evaluate criteria, which can be complex and subjective. A scoring rubric can also provide a basis for self-evaluation, reflection, and peer review. It is aimed at accurate and fair assessment, fostering understanding, and indicating a way to proceed with subsequent learning/teaching. This integration of performance and feedback is called ongoing assessment or formative assessment
This is a prototype of our assesment form. This is important because it helps the program measure both individual success and overall success
