Tagline or Slogan
The tag line or slogan is there to catch the audience and trigger
more interest into what happens in the film. The tagline on this
poster reads ‘once you see him, nothing can save you’, suggesting
that the is some sort of supernatural character that threatens not
only the other characters in the film but also the audience reading
the poster.
3. Poster Conventions
Main Image
The central image of this poster offers all the tropes that I would expect
of the horror genre: a blood splattered wall, the suggestion of a
grotesque face, the hint of violent death, worst of all the suggestion of a
young girl is somehow responsible for these sinister events. Both the title
and the central image are integrated in that they both appear to be made
up of dripping blood. The whole the effect is very monochrome with the
only hints of colour being the golden hair of the girl who is dressed in
night clothes, all the more shocking as such apparent innocence holds her
hand to the wall to smear the blood.

Actor(s)
Most posters will show key actors that feature in the film
because this can make many people want to go and see
the film. Unfortunately, the actors are not shown on this
poster.

Cast and Crew
Next, there is the cast and crew. The Cast and
Crew are almost always placed at the bottom of
the poster this is called the billing block. The
billing block is a legal requirement. Showing all
the cast and crew is also important for the
audience to see because a lot of people may
decide whether to see a film or not based on the
director of the film.
7. Poster Conventions
Release Date
Finally, the release date is very important as it allows the
audience to anticipate the film and become exited to go and
see it in cinema. This poster does not have the release date
on it but where it reads ‘coming soon’ is where most release
dates are placed on posters.

The film title is shown in a black font with a dripping effect as I previously mentioned.
