Fire Island wind farm in Anchorage, Alaska produces 30% of its nameplate rating in its first year of operation. Most expensive wholesale electicity in Alaska considering the fuel is free! Because of its unreliable output, no fossil fueled generation is replaced by the wind farm. Hydroelectric generation is backed off when the wind is blowing. No fuel savings and no reduction in CO2 at a wholesale cost of 9.7 cents per KWH. FAIL
