1. Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs
This is Maslow's Hierarchy of needs. In the triangle are different
levels of needs.
Physiological- The basic needs that the body or a person needs in
order to survive
Safety- The physiological and psychological needs that a person
needs to make themselves feel safe and support them in the real
world.
Love/Belonging- After physiological and safety needs are fulfilled,
the third level of human needs is interpersonal and involves feeling
belonged to something whether it be friends, family or a spouse.
Esteem- Having a certain level of self-esteem, self- confidence and self
belief.
Self Actualization-This level of need refers to what a person's full
potential is and the realization of that potential. Maslow describes
this level as the desire to accomplish everything that a person can.
Maslow stated that only 2% of the population reach this point and it
is extremely for people to reach this point. The reason that the level of
needs is rare is because people are unlikely to achieve the needs
underneath self- actualization in order to get to that point. However the
2. unlikeliness to reach self-actualization is mainly due the media
promoting other things such as money, success, cars and houses.
Celebrities ideologies are represented and promoted through the media
whether it be through the interviews, newspaper articles and blog
entries. The media representation gives the general public an idea about
where the artist is in their career and what choices they are making. Our
chosen music video is based on 'Look What I've Done'- Maverick Sabre.
Maverick Sabre started off just releasing music and now he has been
signed up by a major record label.
Maverick Sabre started out in an Irish MC group however he moved to
London in order to develop his career further. Maverick Sabre had his
first break through when he appeared on Professor Green's single
'Jungle' in 2011. After researching into the indie/soul genres and some
of Maverick Sabre lyrics we discovered that he focused on personal
feelings, personal experiences and building a personal connection with
his audience.
After looking at an interview with Maverick Sabre, I have compared it to
Maverick Sabre is mainly focused on level 3 of the Hierarchy of Needs
and trying to build a personal connection with his fans and audiences.
Maslow's Hierarchy Of Needs and put Maverick Sabre's needs onto the
hierarchy of needs.
