Time to Change Wales delivered by 3 leading Welsh Charities: Mind Cymru, Gofal & Hafal and aims to end the discrimination and stigma faced by people with mental health problems. ABMU HB is working with T2CW to develop an Action Plan that helps to raise awareness in the workplace.
Many employees who are experiencing the effects of stress will still be going to work a phenomenon known as presenteeism which is linked to reduced productivity and reduced staff performance
Boorman (2009): ‘self induced pressure’ to return before fully fit. Variation in occ groups: 71% of Q nurses aged 21-30 report presenteeism compared with 45% of same age group in corporate services. – presenteeism due to MH symptoms costs the Uk on average 15 billion which is 1.5 times the cost of people off on sick leave with mental health problems.
