6. Why wellness at work
place ?
On average, adults spend at least one third of their
life at work (World Health Organization, 1999).
This makes the workplace an ideal environment to
promote the health and wellbeing of the adult
population as:
•The working population is large and relatively
stable
•People of working age can be reached before
disease develops
•Improving the organization and the working
environment
•Promoting active participation
•Encouraging personal development
Reason # 1
10. Lastly, wellness can’t be a temporary activity, but has to be
a way of life. It needs constant thought and practice such
that it becomes a part of one’s lifestyle. This is why
organizations are innovating in the way they motivate and
reward employees for setting and achieving health goals.
