![Planets ALCOS: 6th grade #10 Describe components of the universe and their relationships to each other, including stars, planets and their moons, solar systems, and galaxies. Parents or Guardians: On Monday, March 13th, we will begin our study of the planets. I will introduce the solar system on Monday. The teacher role will be to guide students throughout the learning process of planets. Throughout the five week unit studying planets, the students will participate in class discussions, group discussions, partner discussions, research using books and the computer, informational games/activities, as well as individual and group projects. This is all based upon Project Based Learning, or students participating in hands on activities. I will send information weekly to you keeping you updated on our class projects. I will give the due date of each project as well as when each part of each project is due. The parents role will be to make sure students are staying on task.
