MaAamkie The Ripper is a new grime artist that made him self well known thanks to his youtube
chanell where he was posting his grime singles, u-ntill a music produce who owns Boy Better Known
records, saw one of his grime videos and signed MaAamkie up for Boy Better Known Records.
MaAamkie is only 17 years old and originally from Pretoria,South Africa. MaAamkie’s reall name is
Mamkeli Matomela. We were interested in asking MaAmkie some questions since he is our exclusive
guest.
Q: So, Mamkeli tell us why did you made your own youtube chanell?
A: Ermmm, well i was always interested in grime music since I’ve heared it for the first time and so i
thought why not make my own chanell and try to do my own grime songs, but i didnt intend to go “
Large” and get well know but i guess it was the best thing in my life that has happened to me.
Q: So, are you releasing any album or making any music videos?
A: Well, for past two weeks I’ve been in studio recording some songs for my new album called “
Faith “ which will be coming out in February 2012, also I’ve been working with Skepta and Wiley in
video making, the song is going to be called “ The Begining “ and it should be on TV in January 2012.
Q: MaAamkie, since you’ve made it “Large” what do you think about the lifestyle now and before
you was famous?
A: “Haha” well, its quite different to be honest, now i can afford nearly anythin i want and back then
i just used dream about owining a car or having nice clothes.
