 Kinetic Energy: the energy of a moving object
 KE=1/2mv2
 m=mass of the object (g, kg)
 V=velocity of the object (m/s)
 Ex: If a truck of mass 250kg is traveling at 5m/s, what
is the kinetic energy of the truck?

 Potential Energy: the energy stored in an object
that has potential to be released
 There are two different kinds:
 Gravitational
 Elastic
 Stored energy depending on the force of
gravity and height of an object

 g=the acceleration of gravity (9.8m/s2)
 h=height of the object
 Ex: What is the gravitational potential energy of an
apple weighing 150 grams in a tree of height 5.79 m?
