resources, human
capital, land. Those
inputs are entering to
the company to be
transformed by the
system.
As a result, we get an
output which could be
a product or a service
that the company offers
to the client.

The 3 Main Factors
A wide variety of needs
and influences that can
affect the organization,
which cannot be directly
controled.

limits, they are
difficult to identify.
Influences can be
political, economic,
ecological, societal,
etc.

to the changes, or
benefits, that customers
accomplish as a result of
using a particular
product or service.

Characteristics of an Open System
This process is known as throughput or transformation process. A
business organization may convert inputs like materials, energy,
information into goods and services through the transformation
process.
The pattern of activities , inflow of inputs, transformation, it is the
repetition of cycle of activities.
Characteristics of an Open System
Exports some outputs to the environment. Organizations export goods
and services. The way in which they export outputs determines their
viability and existence.
Takes energy , various types of inputs , from the environment.
Without these inputs, no open system can survive. So, in order to
survive, open systems must stop the entropic process.
Characteristics of an Open System
Organizations, move towards with well differentiation and
specialization of roles and functions to create specialized
departments to have better control over the environment.
Equifinality means that the same or similar results can be achieved by
using a variety of different processes
