4. MYTHS HAVE
GOTTEN A BAD WRAP
• TRUTHS, MYTHS & LIES.
Inflated truths or over dressed lies.
• EVERY MYTH MUST BE BUSTED.
Debunk, debunk…debunk.
• DELUSION OF GRANDEUR

5. MYTHOLOGY
“…rooted in the Greek word ‘mythologia’ which means legendary lore or the narration of mythical legends, tales, fables, proverbs,
taboos, superstition, stories which are believed to be true and has its origin in the far distant past-history of a people.”
6. THE PANTHEON OF OLYMPUS
Greek epics mainly revolved around the twelve deities who were said to live in Mount Olympus, giving them the name Olympians.
These twelve gods and goddesses oversaw every aspect of human life and gave meaning to the world that people saw around them.
10. HELIOCENTRIC
The solar system is said to be heliocentric, with the Sun in the center around which the planets
revolve and the word ‘heliocentric’ signifies that the planets turn around Helios, the Greek Sun
God. In same way, Roman version of the Greek Gods like Mars- God of War, Venus-Goddess of
love, etc. and other astral bodies have been named after planets like Mars, Jupiter, Venus etc.

by the Greeks, with Scorpius, Orion, Leo, and Capricorn being prominent examples.
CONSTELLATION
12. This tradition of choosing names with significance to Greek civilization can
be seen in other branches of science as well. Martin Klaproth, the famous
German chemist, upon his discovery of a fresh metallic element, called it
‘Titanium’, which can be linked to the Greek mythological Titans.
TITANIUM.
13. MYTH OF HIPPOCRATIC OATH
The symbol of the field of medicine is a staff intertwined by a snake, the
symbol of the God of medicine, Asclepius.
Hippocrates, considered as on the most famous physician in the history
of medicine, is also known as the father of modern medicine.
Doctors and physicians must take the Hippocratic oath, a medical
standard for doctors, before practicing and this tradition has been given
to the society by the Greeks.
16. Myths, were the theories that primitive
people devised to explain the world.
In his classic work, The Golden Bough, Frazer traced 3 stages of similarities
among various cultures, whose development he saw as organic and natural.
Primitive magic, Religion and Science.
Myth was all-encompassing in the first stage, archaic but still powerful in the
second stage and unnecessary in the scientific stage.
James Frazer
E.B Tylor
Myth is not just a product of human imagination but a direct expression of reality.
“man cannot live without myths”.
man is a being that cannot bear to live with certain questions unanswered that is
why he sits down to formulate myths to make those questions answerable.
J.C Anyanwau
Tolkien was influenced by Germanic heroic legend, especially its Norse and Old
English forms. During his education at King Edward's School in Birmingham, he
read and translated from the Old Norse in his free time. One of his first Norse
purchases was the Völsunga saga.

28. Rodney puts together a biting criticism of Europe’s interaction with Africa
starting in the 15th century and how trade and slave trade essentially killed
inter-Africa trade, forcing African civilizations to only trade with European
and other western economies.
This also changed the economies of African civilizations to suit what the
traders wanted, whether human beings, cotton, or minerals.
When European powers grew as a result of the profits from trade, they then
carved Africa into its current state and entered the continent to force more
and more production of things that would increase profit for the western
markets. Banks, industries, and nations prospered by the use of underpaid,
sometimes forced African labor.

heroes, sing our music, learn our customs & experience our heritage
All because…we never stop telling our myth.
Wake Up.
Never stop telling our stories.
