4.  The Department of Technical and Vocational Education
(TVE) is the oldest department of the Islamic
University of Technology (IUT) with an annual intake
of 60 students fully funded by the OIC.
 Since the very beginning of IUT as Islamic Center for
Technical and Vocational Training and Research
(ICTVTR) in 1981,
 It has started Masters program in 1986 and already
celebrated 30 years of its commencement in 2016.

5.  At its inception, the department was known as
Instructor Training and General Studies (ITS) and
afterwards from the academic year 2010-11 it has been
renamed as TVE.
 The TVE department offers a diverse range of academic
and professional development programs and training,
which include Certificates (will be resumed from
academic year 2017-18), Diploma, Bachelors, Post
Graduate Diploma and Masters in the field of Technical
Education

11.  The TVE department organizes industrial/ institutional
engagement programs, seminars, workshops, and
conferences to give opportunity to the students to be
familiar with recent development of knowledge and
practices in teaching-learning, curriculum development,
ICTs and pedagogical innovations. In addition to the
professional courses, it offers general courses in Languages,
Islamiat, Islamic history, Science and Culture to all fresh
entrants of the university. The course curricula are under
constant scrutiny and review and continuously updated to
meet the current needs and requirements of the OIC
countries as well as to comply with the international
standard.
