2. Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas (IFNTUOG) is the higher
educational establishment of oil and gas profile of the Ministry of Science and Education of Ukraine.
The University has the IV th (i.e. the highest) level of accreditation. It trains specialists for the oil and
gas industry and for other branches of national economy, Officers for the Armed Forces of Ukraine,
Candidates and Doctors of Science. IFNTUOG provides postgraduate training and retraining,
including national and international certification of oil and gas industry personnel, carries out
research, innovation, publishing activities and contributes a lot to the international cooperation of
Ukraine.
The University has about 11.000 students. Nearly 800 faculty members, 100 of which Doctors of
Science, professors, more than 480 PhD holders, associate professors bring their rich professional
experiencetothestudents.
At present over 700 students have international background and they form an integral part of the
community on campus. Most of them are from Vietnam, Belarus, Bulgaria, the Republic of
Equatorial Guinea, India, Israel, Jordan, Iraq, Iran, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Moldova, Mongolia,
Pakistan, Russia, Syria,Turkmenistan, Sudan, Cameroon, Cote d' Ivoire, the Democratic Republic of
Congo, Ecuador, Georgia, Chad, Egypt, Poland, Nigeria, the Gabonese Republic, the Republic of
Ghana, China, Uzbekistan, Angola, the Republic of Guinea, Canada, France, Azerbaijan and other.
The number of international study programmes taught in English at IFNTUOG is constantly
growing.
