Traditional Orthodontics
Traditional orthodontic braces are the best choice when choosing braces because they are more reliable. According to Philbin & Reinheimer
Orthodontics, "When it comes to metal braces, nothing is more reliable than traditional metal braces. Braces have been worn for generations and
they are proven to work" ("Traditional Braces Benefits" Par. 2). This suggests that braces are the best choice because they are reliable and are proven
to work. Braces are reliable because they are cemented onto the teeth, thus making the braces non removable. Since braces are cemented on, there is no
temptation to take them off, this forces them to work continuously. As a result, a healthy smile is left behind due to reliable traditional metal braces.
Dr. Vu suggests... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since technology has developed braces to become more customizable, braces are also more reliable. Braces can be customized to fit certain needs the
patient may have such as bracket size, elastic colors, and can be customized to fit any size mouth. Having customized braces creates reliability,
ensuring the patient that traditional braces will leave astounding results no matter how problematic the initial set of teeth appear. Traditional braces are
the best choice when choosing braces because they are reliable and customizable, ensuring a healthy smile. Dr. Patel states that "With braces we have
control over every single movement your teeth make.... Braces are easy to adjust, provide proven results, and let us truly direct your teeth where they
need to go without compromise" (Panama City Smiles par. 6). According to this evidence, orthodontists have control over traditional braces. This
means that if there is anything that does not go as planned, orthodontists have complete control to go in and shift the teeth in the correct direction. This
allows for reliable and effective results since braces can be adjusted by orthodontists to guide braces to a healthy

Dental Crowns Or Bonding
Is Dental Crowns, Veneers, Or Bonding Right For You?
If you need dental restoration, you may find it difficult to figure out what type of procedure will work best for you. There are several advantages and
disadvantages to each kind of procedure, and by knowing what they are, you can make an informed decision on your own.
Bonding
The bonding process involves applying a resin onto the damaged tooth surface. The resin is made with a very durable substance, and will bond directly
to the tooth after exposing it to a bonding light.
While bonding is very cheap, the procedure it will not last as long as a crown or veneer. Many people like bonding because it can be done in only one
visit, and it requires very little preparation. The procedure still

Key Facts And Issues Of Glenn Rozycki
Key Facts and Issues Glenn Rozycki is a 25 year old resident of Scarborough, Ontario who left school at York University after one year because he
felt that he would be happier running his own car detailing business. Glenn wants to start up a new company, Custom Car Care, cleaning and detailing
cars. Glenn began this venture as a part time job but he wants to turn it into his full time job. To ensure that his business will be successful, especially in
comparison to other similar businesses in his area, Glenn must make sure his business idea is realistic, sustainable, and profitable. To ensure that
Glenn can build a respectable reputation as a car detailing business, Glenn must be able to grab a segment of the market in his area where a few
competitors already exist. Glenn can penetrate the market by employing different marketing and promotional strategies to ensure that he'll see success
and profits with his limited resources. Glenn's main objective for his business strategy is to provide cleaning and maintenance to both the interior and
exterior of vehicles to preserve their condition by using quality name brand products and precise, hand–done work. Glenn has already identified the
different segments of car owners: owners of older cars that are in poor condition, but served the purpose of transportation; owners of newer, mid–priced
cars; and owners of expensive cars costing more than $35,000. Glenn faced some competition in his area. There are

Essay on Got Teeth? Dental Implants
For the past two and a half years I have been working as a Periodontal Assistant accommodating two doctors. Combined, both doctors have over thirty
years experience within the field of Periodontics. The field of Periodontics focuses predominately on the prevention, treatment, and maintenance of
periodontal disease. Treatment of periodontal disease, commonly is managed by; the removal of excessive tissue, bone and tissue grafts, and
extraction of problem teeth. However, at our practice, we not only manage periodontal disease, but replace missing teeth with dental implants. Dental
implants are an alternative to other restoratives like bridges and dentures. On an ideal day, we place about five to ten implants; and the overall... Show

The healing time for the implant is crucial because the implant "fuses with the jawbone through a process called osseointegration" (Dental Implants).
The surface of the implant itself is vital in the osseointegration process. As a result, several "trial and error" tests have been conducted over the past
several decades in determining the most ideal surface. According to a studies review by; Gupta, Dhanraj, and Sivagami, a "sandblasted and acid
etched" surface produces the best results when integrating. Sandblasting is a method that produces a "rough" texture on the implant's surface; while
acid etching "leads to micro–texturizing and cleaning" (Gupta, Dhanraj, and Sivagami). Now that we know how implants achieve durability and
stability, let's compare to materials mainly used in bridges. Bridges are commonly comprised of the following; porcelain fused to metal, gold alloys,
or base metal alloys. Porcelain fused to metal is often most people's choice when it comes to bridges because, its a financially conservative cosmetic
material. According to an ADA table titled; Indirect Restorative Dental Materials; a porcelain fused to metal bridge is extremely visually unappealing
due to the visible metal portion close to the gum–line. Additionally porcelain fused to metal bridges are more capable of fracturing and wearing down
opposing teeth over time. Unlike bridges, implants are not only "built to

Dental Crowns and Bridges in Lexington, KY
Dental crowns and bridges are some of the most time–tested, reliable dental restorations we offer. Common problems, such as a tooth damaged by
decay or injury, or a lost tooth, can be fixed using a crown or fixed bridge. We also offer inlays and onlays, dental restorations that can take care of
small problems that don't yet require a crown, but that are too large for a filling.

5 Different Types of Dental Cements
There are five different types of cement in the dental field each is versatile in their properties, uses, and mixing techniques. Many were traditionally
used for routine cementation through the nineteen ninety's and since have been replaced by newer makeup and mixing techniques. The selection of
cement for a specific procedure requires knowledge of the chemical and physical properties of each particular cement for the specific restorative
process to be performed. This first cement I'm going to discuss is Glass Ionomer Cement. Glass ionomer cement is one of the most versatile types of
cement in the dental field. This is a hybrid type of silicate and polycarboxylate cements. This adheres to the enamel, dentin, and metallic materials. They

It was originally polyacrylic acid and has changed over to polyalkenoate cement. This had been used for permanent cement for cast restorations,
stainless steel crowns, and orthodontic bands. This maintains its versatility as a nonirritating base under composite and amalgam restorations and
intermediate restoration. The chemical makeup for polycarboxylate cement comes in a liquid made up of polyacrylic acid, itaconic acid, maleic
acid, tartaric acid and water, while the powder is made up of zinc oxide, magnesium oxide, aluminum oxide, and different reinforcing fillers. When
mixed accordingly, it is similar to zinc phosphate cement in terms of solubility and tensile strength. The pH increases rapidly as the material sets, and
24 hours later, it causes it to become similar to zinc phosphate, but is less irritating to the pulp. It is supplied in a squeeze bottle or calibrated
syringe–type liquid dispenser, which can be mixed on a nonabsorbent paper pad or a cool, dry glass slab.. The fifth and final I'm going to discuss is
Zinc Phosphate Cement. This cement is one of the oldest types of dental cements in use and is classified as Type I (fine grain) and Type II (medium
grain). Type I is used in permanent cementations such as bridges, crowns, onlays, and inlays. Type II is recommended for the use of insulation of the
base for deep cavity preparations. Zinc phosphate comes in a liquid made up of 50% zinc phosphoric

explores the advantages and disadvantages of the iTero Intraoral Scanner and its significant relationship to dental clinics. Several studies will
demonstrate the work that still needs to be done to prove that elastomeric impressions are not as accurate and precise as the STLs and its DIs. This
paper examines several reviews on how beneficial it can be to implement the scanner to dental clinics in order to create more opportunities for patient
satisfaction and clinical success (Olson, 2015). However, with the difficult learning curve, it will show how dentists are still apprehensive to purchase
these machines. Keywords: Standard Tessellation Language, Digital Images ENTERING THE DIGITAL AGE: DIGITAL IMPRESSIONS 3

The Tokyo Railway Station Building
The Tokyo railway station building is located in Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan in the Marunouchi business district. The station which acts as Tokyo's main
intercity terminal is served by the Tokyo Metro network, Japan Railways' regional commuter lines as well as the Shinkansen high speed railway lines.
The Tokyo Station also has a reputation of being the busiest station in the country, judging by the number of trains it serves per day; approximately
three thousand trains in one day. Furthermore, the train station has a hotel and gallery within its premises. In terms of architecture and historical
culture, the station actually has a long history that dates back more than a hundred years, thereby making it one of the one of the few major examples
of buildings designed in classical style remaining in Tokyo, and Japan as a whole.
Chronicle information of the building Even though the Tokyo Station was constructed in 1914, its actual plan is connected to thehistory of Japan's rail
in the 1880s (Ito n.p). It is therefore viewed by the Japanese as being significant in the advancement of rail technology and as a symbolic structure
within Japan. By 1885, several railway tracks were already passing through Tokyo, thereby necessitating the need for a central terminal to be built in
the region between Ueno and Shinbashi. The station which was to accommodate Tokyo's entire network was simply referred to as the "central
terminal" (Ito n.p). The project for the Tokyo Station was first offered

Chapter 4 : Roanoke 's Christian Church
Chapter 4: Roanoke's Christian Church (Disciples of Christ): "Not the Only Christians, But Christians Only"
In downtown Roanoke, on Church Avenue, an old church building still stands, having been erected over one hundred years earlier. For the same
period of time, it has been occupied by a congregation, whose denominational origins lead back to a rural part of Kentucky in what was called the
Restoration Movement, initiated by reformers who yearned for a primitive, apostolic form of Christianity, with "no creed but Christ." Although
"backcountry" in the denomination's heritage, this particular congregation began in a boomtown. While striving to become a "first century" church,

David Edwin Harrell, Jr.'s "The Agrarian Myth and the Disciples of Christ in the Nineteenth Century" as well as "The Sectional Origins of theChurches
of Christ" magnificently provide readers with a thoroughly researched historical context relevant to Southern religious history in particular. In the
former article, Harrell discusses, "At the heart of the myth of the garden," or the agrarian myth, "was the conviction that rural life was superior to
urban life." For many in the Christian Church, Harrell demonstrates that they sought to initiate the "millennial hope" via the garden myth ideology, but
in time, "The most fervent millennialists in the movement by the end of the century were the supporters of the new industrial order. Many still
believed that the American farmer was a specially prepared instrument of God, but it was perfectly obvious that he was neither gaining in influence
nor improving his status in society." Harrell, elsewhere, delved further into this urban versus rural idea, and how it, along with class and geographical
contentions, affected the schism that divided the Disciples of Christ (Christian Church) into two major factions, one conservative, leading to the
"Church of Christ," and the other liberal, retaining the Disciples of Christ name. As helpful as Harrell's article on sectionalism is, he also explained
how Virginia was a bit of an anomaly in the South, where liberals "won virtually all of the churches," when

How A Career And Passion
Focus: How a career and passion in dentistry shape who Dr. Henkel is today.
Interviewed by email to Dr. Henkel (mentor for my internship)
Interview Questions:
1. Who are the most influential people in your life? Tough question to answer as there have been so many. The obvious of course would be my
mother, wife, and daughter. But educationally, two people really come to mind. One was my microbiology professor, a very small in stature woman
from the Philippines, who gave her entire lecture series, start to finish, over an entire semester, without ever looking at a note. Not once. She would
have been my mentor for my master's degree had I not change course to dental school. The other is a clinical instructor at the univ.of Detroit dental
school, dr. Benjamin Leone. One of the toughest instructors we had in dental school. Getting an a from him was next to impossible. But he taught us
more, made us do our work to the highest standard, than most others. 2. What is your inspiration for doing your job? Couple of things. From a
personal perspective, dentistry allows for a great lifestyle, giving adequate free time to pursue whatever it is you enjoy. From a professional
perspective, helping people, relieving their discomfort, seeing the change in self esteem when we complete a smile rehabilitation, makes it all
worthwhile
3. Why did you choose the field of dentistry? What was your vision? Interestingly, it almost chose me. I was pursuing a pre–medical

Crown Lengthening Research Paper
What is Crown Lengthening
Crown lengthening is a common oral surgery performed by a periodontist. The procedure involves the removal of gum tissue, bone, or both to expose
more of the patient's teeth. Reasons for Crown Lengthening
Crown lengthening may be done to restore damaged teeth, insert a dental crown, or for cosmetic reasons. Teeth that are severely damaged due to tooth
decay, trauma or periodontal disease may need to undergo crown lengthening if the tooth is broken under the gum or there is not enough tooth surface
to properly restore the tooth.
Dental crowns are used to cover, protect, and strengthen damaged teeth. If the crown does not fit properly it can irritate the gums and cause chronic
inflammation. Crown lengthening creates ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Afterward an appointment will be scheduled. If your tooth requires a crown a temporary one will be put in place before the surgery. This allows the
periodontist to see how much tissue will need to be removed before the permanent crown is put in place.
Crown lengthening is a common procedure and can be performed in our office under general anesthesia or sedation. The length of the surgery
depends on how many teeth are involved and if soft tissue and/or bone has to be removed. The periodontist will make small cuts in the gums to
expose the roots of the tooth. Then the necessary amount of gum and/or bone will be removed. Once the periodontist is satisfied, the area will be
rinsed with a saltwater solution and the gums will be stitched in place. If you had a temporary crown it will be put back in place once the surgery is
done.
You should not eat anything until the anesthesia has worn off to prevent damage to your mouth, cheek or tongue. There may be some slight pain or
discomfort after the procedure. Over the counter medication or prescription pain medication may be provided to alleviate the pain. You should follow a

Amalgam Research Paper
I am writing my paper on amalgam history in dentistry. Amalgam was developed in England and France it consisted of silver, tin, copper, zinc, and
mercury. It was not openly embraced by organized dentistry in America until the 1840s. The Crawcour brothers brought amalgam into the United States
in 1833. Half of the people with dental restorations in upstate New York consisted ofamalgam in 1844. The American Society of Dental Surgeons
made all of the members to sign a pledge that restricted them from using mercury fillings, because at the time it was considered to be malpractice. That
created the first dental amalgam war, but it ended in 1856 with cancelation of the association.
In 1859 the American Dental Association (ADA) was founded and took the place of the American Society of Dental Surgeons. The ADA strongly
defended amalgam from the allegations of being too risky from the health standpoint. In 1930 the ratio of the mercury to the remaining metallic mixture
was sixty six to thirty three. Conventional amalgams (gamma–2) has thirty–two percent silver and fourteen percent tin due to the low copper content
they are most susceptible to corrosion. Non–gamma–2 amalgams have been developed but are found to release high levels of mercury vapor compared

The ADA began to cite this as proof that amalgam fillings are stable and safe. Hal Huggins, DDS, an American dentist suffering from MS met

and mercury from the amalgam can trigger illness such as Hodgkin's disease and sickle cell anemia. Dr. Pinto sent Huggins many studies on amalgam
research; Huggins learned about the amalgam health issue and then became a noted speaker and writer on the hazards of

Essay on Dental Amalgam
Dental Amalgam Amalgam dental restorations which are also known as silver fillings are the number one choice for restoring teeth. These silver
fillings have been used for over a hundred years to fill in cavities where there has been tooth decay. The question many have is "what is dental
amalgam?" Dental amalgam is a mixture of materials containing powdered alloy, metals and mercury. There have been some concerns, however about
the safety of this mercury containing filling material. "Amalgam is in the same safety class as gold and composite fillings" (FDA) and does not pose
the safety concerns as once thought. Compared to other dental materials, such as composite and glass ionomer, amalgam is the "most studied and
tested." (NCAHF) Many ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order to have enough retention for the crown to stay in place, a build– up is done on the tooth before the crown is made. Also, when using an
amalgam alloy for a filling, not as much natural tooth structure has to be removed in order to place the filling. Whereas, when using a composite
filling, also known as tooth colored or a white filling, the retention of the filling requires removal of more tooth structure in order to have the filling
stay in place. Also, there is a concern by some dentists about the longevity of composite fillings. Replacing fillings can get quite expensive for the
patients and is not a very cost–effective choice. Most insurance companies will not cover the costs of having tooth colored fillings placed, but they
will pay for amalgams, which is another good reason for using amalgam. When a filling lasts longer and does not need to be replaced as often, it is
much more cost–effective for the patient. There are other facts to take into consideration. Patients who have "poor oral hygiene" are great candidates
for amalgam fillings. (CDC). Amalgam tends to arrest decay and this is extremely helpful for a patient who has poor oral hygiene and is cavity
prone. Silver fillings are more affordable (ADA) than composite, insurance companies will recognize them and they are safe. There has been quite a
controversy on whether dental amalgam is safe for the patients as well as the practitioners who

All-Ceramic Restorations in Dental Work
Superior aesthetics and biocompatibility of dental ceramics has driven the increasing use of all–ceramic restorations over the past decade (1). However,
the brittleness and low fracture strength of ceramics can initiate crack propagation causing fracture of the restoration. Clinical studies have
demonstrated that all–ceramic dental restorations have an increased resistance to fracture in service when adhesively cemented to the prepared tooth
structure with resin–based composite cements (2). It is thought that the cement interacts and penetrates ceramic surface defects, preventing crack
propagation. However, strengthening is dependent on sufficient resin cement polymerisation via free radical photo–polymerisation in response to blue
light (450–500nm). Adequate polymerisation (DC) depends on appropriate light transmission (LT) to the resin cement, which is affected by the opacity
and the thickness of the ceramic and the resin cement layer. Consequently, this will influence the mechanical properties of the resin cement together
with the strength and longevity of the restoration (3, 4, 5). The aim of this current study is to analyse LT through ceramics of different shade and
thicknesses; measure and map DC; and correlate the results to the degree of reinforcement achieved.
Specimen preparation

The Main Causes Of The Meiji Restoration In Japan
The main causes of the Meiji Restoration
Meiji Restoration was a significant historical event not only in Japanese history but also in world history. A study (Hunt, Lynn, Thomas, & Barbara,
2009) concluded that the word "Meiji" means "enlightened rule" and the goal was to combine "modern advances" with "eastern" values. This event
restored practical imperial rule to Japan under Emperor Meiji in 1868 ("Meiji Restoration", 2017). As a result, it led to the tremendous changes in
political and social structure of Japan, and spanned both the Late Tokugawa period and the beginning of the Meiji period ("Meiji Restoration", 2017).
The main causes of Meiji Restoration can be analyzed from the following different aspects.
1) Ecological crisis
Japan was divided into 240 han which were governed by its own daimyo. After 1720, although some places prospered and others declined which
depended on local circumstances, a whole Japan began to experience ecological crisis. To be specific, the number of Japanese population doubled
from 15 million to 30 million. In general, the increase in population put pressure on the environment and made it easier for people to suffer from
natural disasters such as famines and typhoons. These led to ecological crisis which helped destabilize Tokugawa rule and brought about further reform.
2) Foreign relation crisis and political crisis
In the world history, European countries became stronger due to two events in the 1630s. Firstly, some European countries

Dental Crown: Questions And Answers
Three Questions About Getting A Dental Crown
Do you have a dental problem that requires a crown? If so, you may have questions about what is involved with getting a crown. Here are the answers
to three common questions.
What Is The Procedure To Get A Dental Crown?
The process starts with visiting your dentist to have your teeth examined. If you have a tooth with significant decay, a crown may be required to repair
it. This is necessary when having a root canal, but can also be necessary for a deep cavity that weakens the structure of the tooth. Your dentist can
determine which procedure is necessary by taking an x–ray of the tooth. Any preliminary procedures will need to be done before a crown can be
installed.

Advantages Of Digital Dentistry
Digital Dentistry
Over the years, the field of dentistry has seen significant technological growth. One of these advancements is digital dentistry.
Digital dentistry refers to dental technology that incorporates digital components as opposed to mechanical or electrical components alone. These could
include (but are not limited to):
Computer–aided design/computer aided manufacturing and intraoral imaging
Computer–aided implant dentistry
Digital radiography both intraoral and extraoral
Lasers
Caries diagnosis
Electrical and surgical handpieces
Occlusion and TMJ analysis and diagnosis
Photography both extraoral and intraoral
Digital patient education
Shade matching
Advantages of Digital Dentistry
The goal of digital dentistry is to ensure that dentistry services provided to patients are faster, better and more comfortable. However, specifically
speaking, there are three major advantages of digital dentistry:
1.It improves the efficiency of dental services both in terms of cost and time.
2.It improves accuracy as compared to traditional methods.
3.It improves the level of patient outcome.
Adoption and Hurdles
While there is no doubt that digital dentistry has a lot to offer and is expected to continue to change the face of dentistry in the years to come, the
biggest limitation to its rapid adoption is cost. Adopting the new technology, acquiring training in its use and implementation and offering the services
to patients can require significant

While there were theories surrounding the human system of emotions as was aforementioned, these concepts were still known to be speculative, and
the inner workings of the human body as a whole remained enigmatic for centuries. Therefore the notion that any one person could harbor the ability to
sway the passions that were supposedly dictated by humours, which were believed to be stagnant and involuntary, was mysterious and menacing.

A figurehead of the abject criticism of restoration era theatre was Jeremy Collier, a non–juror bishop who famously wrote A Short View of the

Young people particularly, should not entertain themselves with a Lewd Picture; especially when 'tis drawn by a Masterly Hand. For such a Liberty

In this distressed excerpt, Collier explains that if a young audience member were to see the lascivious acts such as those portrayed on stage that it
would stir up the 'passions' inside him that would compel him to act similarly or mirror such behavior, and that these desires could not be satisfied
without committing a malfeasance. Collier's fears bear similarity to the pneumonic idea presented earlier, that the actor was able to manipulate their own
thoughts and feelings and transfer them to the spectator, and ultimately "[alter] their moral natures." talk about this more Throughout his pamphlet

Evolution Of Cad And Cam Technology Systems Essay
The high request for ceramic restorations in the posterior and anterior areas has focused on the evolution of CAD and CAM technology systems. In
the early 1980s Pioneered by Mörmann, the first CAD/CAM system called Cerec System started the era of CAD/CAM in dentistry. (Mörmann,
2006) The CAD/CAM technology was powered by the improvement of computing power and specific recovery systems and milling machines.
Therefore, to avoid traditionally digital systems offer the opportunity and analogue impressions giving patient support and effective workflow. The
CAD/CAM systems are used in dental applications usually contain three components: 1. There is a digital scanner that changes the geometry into
digital information that can be prepared by the computer. 2. Software that processes information and, depending on the application, produces an
information set for the product to be created. 3. A production technology that converts the data set into the favourite product. (Shenoy and Prabhu,
2015) Computer Aided Design To produce 2D or 3D graphical pictures of the objects CAD is the best computer applications to use. CAD is more
used to design the products in a varied range of industries, where the software performs controls for defining the best structure and size for a diversity

Broken Crown Myth
What to do with a broken crown tooth?
The importance of the teeth is nothing new to be described as these plays an inevitable role in our life. All of us understand the need and the advantage
of having healthy teeth throughout our life. The dentures and the implants are the excellent examples to teach us the usefulness of the original teeth.
There are several complications that are related with the oral and dental health that tend us to seek the services from a dentist. The broken crown is one
of these complications that require intervention from the dentists. The crowns are usually found to be intact for lifetime but in some cases, these may
become broken or get chipped due to different reasons. In these conditions, we need to see the dentist for an appropriate cure.
What is a crown tooth?
The simplest definition of the dental crown is that; "It is a sort of dental restoration that surrounds the cap of the tooth to make a cap like ... Show more

As discussed earlier the degree of damage of the crown is responsible for the severity of the symptoms; for example, the broken crown in hard
traumatic injury may develop sharp pain while the chronic decay may be characterized by the hot and cold sensations.
Is there anything I can do to fix it?
This is the biggest mistake that anyone can make after having the broken crown. The dental crowns are typical implants sort of object that cannot be
fitted without expert dental intervention. The ideas about rubbing some material on the broken crown or filling it with some material may not only
deteriorate the situation but also create further complications.
Should I replace?
It is strongly advised to replace the dental crown to prevent the chances of further damage to the tooth. The chipped or the cracked tooth may easily
get damaged in case of chewing something or due to the effect of the beverages or the other hard things. It is better to replace the same as early as
possible.

3 Questions About Dental Crowns
Did a recent trip to the dentist end in discovering that you need a crown? If so, this will leave you with many questions about getting a dental crown.
Here are three common questions about dental crowns that you may have.
Why Do You Need a Crown?
There are many situations where a dental crown is needed to provide strength and stability to a tooth. A dental crown can also help reshape a tooth
that is an odd shape or just worn down. If you are having a dental implant installed, a crown is used on the fake tooth to make it stronger.
For instance, you could have a tooth that needs a root canal. The procedure will leave the tooth weak and a crown is necessary to give it additional
strength and prevent the tooth ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Your dentist will pick the right type of crown for your specific needs. They are key to knowing which crown is best based on the pros and cons of each
material.
Stainless steel is recommended for when a temporary crown is needed for permanent teeth. The purpose is to give the tooth protection until you can
receive the permanent crown. It is also common to use a stainless steel crown on a baby tooth since the tooth will eventually fall out.
Metal crowns use nickel or a gold alloy for the material and are ideal when the goal is to save your natural tooth. Metal will be quite durable with it
able to withstand the pressure caused by chewing. A metal crown is often used on molars since the color of the material is quite noticeable, which
works great since those teeth are used for chewing most often.
Resin can be used when you are looking to save some money, but be aware that resin crowns wear down quickly. The material is also more susceptible
to chipping than the other materials. However, the color of a resin crown will blend in with your natural teeth. This makes resin ideal for front teeth that
need a crown, even though the material may need replacement sooner rather than later.

Patient demand for optimal esthetics (1) has altered the practice of dentistry and major advances in ceramics have allowed dentistry to satisfactorily

In the 700BC, bone, ivory, pebble, animal or human teeth were the first documented materials used for partial denture construction. (3) They were

To improve the wear resistance and other mechanical properties of PMMA, cross–linked agents were incorporated in the chemical structure. (5) The
three different types of artificial teeth currently available are acrylic, porcelain, and composite resin. Each of these artificial teeth has its advantages and
disadvantages. The cross–linked high strength PMMA artificial teeth were more resistant to wear as compared to the conventional PMMA artificial
teeth. (6) Studies comparing the wear resistance of Nanocomposite artificial teeth and four layered cross–linked acrylic PMMA artificial teeth show
that Nanocomposite is more resistant to wear as compared to the cross–linked PMMA artificial teeth, but the difference is negligible in comparison to
the cost of these teeth.

Dental Hygienist Experience Essay
It would be early on Saturday morning in which I roll out of bed to prepare for my internship at Dr. Henkel's place, Horsham Dental Elements. Dr.
Henkel acquired the dental center in 1990 after moving the suburbs in Horsham. Many patients would come to this dental clinic, sitting in the waiting
lounge as they wait for their name to be announced. Each patient would be directed to the assigned room from the dental specialist (Dr. Henkel
Interview).
During the procedures for dental hygiene the dental hygienist would often comment on the patient and their overall health of their teeth. "Gums look
much less swollen. I barely see any plaque?" Other times they remark, "Are you flossing more regularly?" Once the polishing and cleaning was
complete the dental hygienist would then mention "Wait here, he will be here in just a moment."
Who was coming? It was the inspector, Dr. Henkel. The man was as round as a globe. He would dress in his usual green collared shirt, as he waddled
down the hallway with his thudding gait. Immediately, once entering the room, he would greet his patients with his warm welcoming smile. In
addition, he would sit in his swivel chair, cover his mouth with his surgical mask and then put his dental glasses to carefully examine the x–ray screens.

Essay On Bipa Exposure
We set out to determine the extent of dental material–related BPA exposure comparing the urinary BPA concentrations before and after dental treatment
among patients receiving BisGMA–based composites and sealants. Our findings suggest that there is a transient – lasting up to 14 days to 6 months –
increase in BPA concentrations following treatment [35, 38], whether negative health effects can result from this exposure is yet to be determined.
Dental composite restorations and dental sealants have revolutionized the field of esthetic and preventive dentistry. Many of these products use

(2005) and Kang et al. (2011) observed sustained increases of BPA levels at 14 days and one month respectively, while Maserejian et al. (2016) and
Moreira et al. (2017) reported that BPA levels were back to baseline by 14 days and one month respectively. Martin et al. (2005), Kang et al. (2011) and
Moreira et al. (2017) had small sample sizes of 19, 22, 20 respectively, compared with Maserejian et al. (2016) who used a sample size of 91 patients.
The different results could be due to the difference in the composition of dental material, the sample sizes, the amount of material applied, differences
in application/polymerization of the materials, laboratory methodologies or limits of detection.
Martin et al. (2005) and Kang et al. (2011) studies were conducted 6–12 years ago when environmental exposures to BPA from other sources were high
and when the assays for measuring BPA were not as robust/accurate. Maserejian et al. (2016) was the only study that followed participants for over one
month. This study found minimal differences from baseline and 6 months, suggesting that BPA exposure from dental treatment results in a transient
increase in urinary BPA concentrations.
Two studies, Maserejian et al. (2016) and Kingman et al. (2012), reported no association between the number of pre–existing resin based restorations
and concentrations of BPA in urine. This suggests that BPA concentrations are not due to release of BPA from degradation BisGMA

Safety of Amalgam Fillings
What are amalgam fillings? Most people recognize dental amalgams as silver fillings. Dental amalgam is a mixture of mercury, silver, tin and copper.
Mercury, which makes up about 50 percent of the compound, is used to bind the metals together and to provide a strong, hard, durable filling. After
years of research, mercury has been found to be the only element that will bind these metals together in such a way that can be easily manipulated into
a tooth cavity. Is mercury in dental amalgam safe? The amount of mercury released in the mouth under the pressure of chewing and grinding is
extremely small and no cause for alarm. In fact, it is less than what patients are exposed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They can withstand the forces of chewing.
They are less costly than the alternatives.
Amalgam fillings can be completed in one dental visit.
They are less sensitive to moisture during the filling process than composite resin.
Disadvantages
Amalgam doesn't match the color of your teeth.
Amalgam fillings can corrode or tarnish over time. This can cause discoloration where the filling meets the tooth.
A traditional (non–bonded) amalgam filling does not bond (hold together) with your tooth.
The cavity preparation (the "pocket" in your tooth) developed by your dentist requires undercuts or ledges to keep the filling in place. Your dentist
may have to remove more of the tooth to create a secure pocket.
Some people may be allergic to mercury or be concerned about its effects. Research shows that the amount of mercury exposure from fillings is similar
to what people get from other sources in the environment.

Interpreting Disorders: Understanding Dental Veneers
Understanding Dental Veneers
Have you ever looked in the mirror and wished you could enhance the color, shape, size, or length of your teeth to achieve your perfect smile? With
veneers, you actually can!
So, what exactly are veneers, what problems do they fix, what is the process for applying them and what advantages are associated with this solution?
Read on to find out.
What are Veneers?
Dental veneers are very thin, customized shells that cover the front surfaces of teeth. Most are created from porcelain or resin composite materials.
There are benefits of both options:
Resin Composite – These are thinner and can be applied without having to remove as much enamel.
Porcelain – These are often more popular because they resist stains and more closely mimic the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Worn, Broken, or Misshapen Teeth– Instead of extracting worn, broken, or misshapen teeth to insert a dental implant, you can use veneers to cover
these teeth and create a new smile.
Misaligned Teeth– Veneers can improve teeth alignment and also eliminate gaps between teeth.
Applying Dental Veneers
There are typically three dental visits involved when you're considering veneers:
Planning – When you are considering veneers, you should go to the dentist to determine if you're a good candidate and, if so, to plan your treatment.
During this visit, your dentist may take x–rays and make impressions of your teeth to facilitate a discussion about what changes can be made with
veneers.
Preparing – To prepare your teeth for veneers, your dentist will shave approximately ВЅ millimeter of enamel from your teeth's surfaces. After doing
so, he or she will make an impression of each tooth to send to a dental laboratory to get your veneers

The Most Convincing Approach Of Japan And China

The Most Convincing Approach For many years Western nations in Europe and North America had wanted to expand their trade with Japan and China;
however, the people of the two Asian countries believed that the Westerners were barbarians with useless goods and religious beliefs that would
challenge their traditions. Up until the 1800s, Japan and China had successfully restricted the influence of Western nations within their countries. Their
ability to remain isolated from Westerners, however, quickly faded throughout the 1800s when the modernized Western nations grew more powerful
and demanding. Due to trying to stay isolated from Western ideas and religious beliefs, Japan and China fell ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Feng Guifen's first good idea in his plan was to learn how to build better ships and guns from the Westerners, or barbarians as he liked to call them.
He realized that China was turning into a weak country from being isolated from Western ideas. In the beginning of his article, Feng said that the
Chinese were "inferior to the barbarians" (Feng 357). By this time, China had already been humiliatingly defeated by the British in the Opium War,
which showed that China lacked a strong military and advanced technology ("Plotting East Asia's Future" 352). To remedy this, he proposed hiring
Westerners to teach intelligent Chinese how to build strong ships and effective guns (Feng 357). Without having the military force or advanced
weaponry and ships, China would be crushed again and again like it was in the Opium War and the later Sino–Japanese War, which is known as
another humiliating Chinese defeat (Tignor 659). To have a powerful nation at that time, a strong military with weapons was needed. Feng knew that in
order to gain the needed military strength, the Chinese were going to have to learn from Westerners on how to build better ships and guns.
Two other authors also proposed reforming the military. For example, Ii Naosuke, one of the Japanese writers, had the similar idea of learning from
foreigners. In his case, he wanted to employ Dutchmen as masters and mariners and put Japanese on board to study their guns, ships, and how they

You Fly off your bike and hit your front teeth on the ground chipping both of your beautiful front teeth. How are you going to fix this? I have a
solution. Dental bonding is a type of cosmetic dentistry that permanently attaches dental materials to the teeth by using adhesives and a special
curing light. Dentists use tooth colored composite to restore chips or cracks. Also to fill cavities, close gaps between your teeth and repair worn
down edges of your teeth. Dentists are the ones who do the direct composite bonding which means that the procedure is usually done in one dental
visit. Dental bonding does not require any impressions or temporaries. First the dentist will place a plastic coating on the front of the teeth. Then
they will place a bonding agent, colors it according to the color of your teeth, and shapes it. Then a light called the curing light is shined through the
plastic that causes it to harden and makes the surface look shiny and polished. Then a thin layer of etch is placed on your teeth to make little fine
holes in the enamel of your teeth. This is so the resin can stick to your teeth very well. Then many coats of composite resin are placed on your teeth

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Dental Veneers
Dental veneers are thin custom–made shells designed to cover the front surface of the teeth, improving your appearance and enhancing your smile by

Veneers are generally used to fix teeth that are discoloured, have gaps, are chipped and broken, are misaligned, irregularly shaped, or have merely
been worn down. These tooth imperfections can arise from a variety of different reasons, such as: beverage intake (alcohol and caffeine are known
causes of staining) and unhealthy lifestyles (smoking, drug addictions and poor oral hygiene are the main causes of tooth imperfection).

Traditional Orthodontics

  • 1. Traditional Orthodontics Traditional orthodontic braces are the best choice when choosing braces because they are more reliable. According to Philbin & Reinheimer Orthodontics, "When it comes to metal braces, nothing is more reliable than traditional metal braces. Braces have been worn for generations and they are proven to work" ("Traditional Braces Benefits" Par. 2). This suggests that braces are the best choice because they are reliable and are proven to work. Braces are reliable because they are cemented onto the teeth, thus making the braces non removable. Since braces are cemented on, there is no temptation to take them off, this forces them to work continuously. As a result, a healthy smile is left behind due to reliable traditional metal braces. Dr. Vu suggests... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Since technology has developed braces to become more customizable, braces are also more reliable. Braces can be customized to fit certain needs the patient may have such as bracket size, elastic colors, and can be customized to fit any size mouth. Having customized braces creates reliability, ensuring the patient that traditional braces will leave astounding results no matter how problematic the initial set of teeth appear. Traditional braces are the best choice when choosing braces because they are reliable and customizable, ensuring a healthy smile. Dr. Patel states that "With braces we have control over every single movement your teeth make.... Braces are easy to adjust, provide proven results, and let us truly direct your teeth where they need to go without compromise" (Panama City Smiles par. 6). According to this evidence, orthodontists have control over traditional braces. This means that if there is anything that does not go as planned, orthodontists have complete control to go in and shift the teeth in the correct direction. This allows for reliable and effective results since braces can be adjusted by orthodontists to guide braces to a healthy ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Dental Crowns Or Bonding Is Dental Crowns, Veneers, Or Bonding Right For You? If you need dental restoration, you may find it difficult to figure out what type of procedure will work best for you. There are several advantages and disadvantages to each kind of procedure, and by knowing what they are, you can make an informed decision on your own. Bonding The bonding process involves applying a resin onto the damaged tooth surface. The resin is made with a very durable substance, and will bond directly to the tooth after exposing it to a bonding light. While bonding is very cheap, the procedure it will not last as long as a crown or veneer. Many people like bonding because it can be done in only one visit, and it requires very little preparation. The procedure still ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Key Facts And Issues Of Glenn Rozycki Key Facts and Issues Glenn Rozycki is a 25 year old resident of Scarborough, Ontario who left school at York University after one year because he felt that he would be happier running his own car detailing business. Glenn wants to start up a new company, Custom Car Care, cleaning and detailing cars. Glenn began this venture as a part time job but he wants to turn it into his full time job. To ensure that his business will be successful, especially in comparison to other similar businesses in his area, Glenn must make sure his business idea is realistic, sustainable, and profitable. To ensure that Glenn can build a respectable reputation as a car detailing business, Glenn must be able to grab a segment of the market in his area where a few competitors already exist. Glenn can penetrate the market by employing different marketing and promotional strategies to ensure that he'll see success and profits with his limited resources. Glenn's main objective for his business strategy is to provide cleaning and maintenance to both the interior and exterior of vehicles to preserve their condition by using quality name brand products and precise, hand–done work. Glenn has already identified the different segments of car owners: owners of older cars that are in poor condition, but served the purpose of transportation; owners of newer, mid–priced cars; and owners of expensive cars costing more than $35,000. Glenn faced some competition in his area. There are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Essay on Got Teeth? Dental Implants For the past two and a half years I have been working as a Periodontal Assistant accommodating two doctors. Combined, both doctors have over thirty years experience within the field of Periodontics. The field of Periodontics focuses predominately on the prevention, treatment, and maintenance of periodontal disease. Treatment of periodontal disease, commonly is managed by; the removal of excessive tissue, bone and tissue grafts, and extraction of problem teeth. However, at our practice, we not only manage periodontal disease, but replace missing teeth with dental implants. Dental implants are an alternative to other restoratives like bridges and dentures. On an ideal day, we place about five to ten implants; and the overall... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The healing time for the implant is crucial because the implant "fuses with the jawbone through a process called osseointegration" (Dental Implants). The surface of the implant itself is vital in the osseointegration process. As a result, several "trial and error" tests have been conducted over the past several decades in determining the most ideal surface. According to a studies review by; Gupta, Dhanraj, and Sivagami, a "sandblasted and acid etched" surface produces the best results when integrating. Sandblasting is a method that produces a "rough" texture on the implant's surface; while acid etching "leads to micro–texturizing and cleaning" (Gupta, Dhanraj, and Sivagami). Now that we know how implants achieve durability and stability, let's compare to materials mainly used in bridges. Bridges are commonly comprised of the following; porcelain fused to metal, gold alloys, or base metal alloys. Porcelain fused to metal is often most people's choice when it comes to bridges because, its a financially conservative cosmetic material. According to an ADA table titled; Indirect Restorative Dental Materials; a porcelain fused to metal bridge is extremely visually unappealing due to the visible metal portion close to the gum–line. Additionally porcelain fused to metal bridges are more capable of fracturing and wearing down opposing teeth over time. Unlike bridges, implants are not only "built to ... • 8. 5 Different Types of Dental Cements There are five different types of cement in the dental field each is versatile in their properties, uses, and mixing techniques. Many were traditionally used for routine cementation through the nineteen ninety's and since have been replaced by newer makeup and mixing techniques. The selection of cement for a specific procedure requires knowledge of the chemical and physical properties of each particular cement for the specific restorative process to be performed. This first cement I'm going to discuss is Glass Ionomer Cement. Glass ionomer cement is one of the most versatile types of cement in the dental field. It was originally polyacrylic acid and has changed over to polyalkenoate cement. This had been used for permanent cement for cast restorations, stainless steel crowns, and orthodontic bands. This maintains its versatility as a nonirritating base under composite and amalgam restorations and intermediate restoration. The chemical makeup for polycarboxylate cement comes in a liquid made up of polyacrylic acid, itaconic acid, maleic acid, tartaric acid and water, while the powder is made up of zinc oxide, magnesium oxide, aluminum oxide, and different reinforcing fillers. When mixed accordingly, it is similar to zinc phosphate cement in terms of solubility and tensile strength. The pH increases rapidly as the material sets, and 24 hours later, it causes it to become similar to zinc phosphate, but is less irritating to the pulp. It is supplied in a squeeze bottle or calibrated syringe–type liquid dispenser, which can be mixed on a nonabsorbent paper pad or a cool, dry glass slab.. The fifth and final I'm going to discuss is Zinc Phosphate Cement. This cement is one of the oldest types of dental cements in use and is classified as Type I (fine grain) and Type II (medium grain). Type I is used in permanent cementations such as bridges, crowns, onlays, and inlays. Type II is recommended for the use of insulation of the base for deep cavity preparations. Several studies will demonstrate the work that still needs to be done to prove that elastomeric impressions are not as accurate and precise as the STLs and its DIs. This paper examines several reviews on how beneficial it can be to implement the scanner to dental clinics in order to create more opportunities for patient satisfaction and clinical success (Olson, 2015). However, with the difficult learning curve, it will show how dentists are still apprehensive to purchase these machines. • 10. The Tokyo Railway Station Building The Tokyo railway station building is located in Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan in the Marunouchi business district. The station which acts as Tokyo's main intercity terminal is served by the Tokyo Metro network, Japan Railways' regional commuter lines as well as the Shinkansen high speed railway lines. The Tokyo Station also has a reputation of being the busiest station in the country, judging by the number of trains it serves per day; approximately three thousand trains in one day. Furthermore, the train station has a hotel and gallery within its premises. In terms of architecture and historical culture, the station actually has a long history that dates back more than a hundred years, thereby making it one of the one of the few major examples of buildings designed in classical style remaining in Tokyo, and Japan as a whole. Chronicle information of the building Even though the Tokyo Station was constructed in 1914, its actual plan is connected to thehistory of Japan's rail in the 1880s (Ito n.p). It is therefore viewed by the Japanese as being significant in the advancement of rail technology and as a symbolic structure within Japan. By 1885, several railway tracks were already passing through Tokyo, thereby necessitating the need for a central terminal to be built in the region between Ueno and Shinbashi. The station which was to accommodate Tokyo's entire network was simply referred to as the "central terminal" (Ito n.p). The project for the Tokyo Station was first offered ... Chapter 4 : Roanoke 's Christian Church Chapter 4: Roanoke's Christian Church (Disciples of Christ): "Not the Only Christians, But Christians Only" In downtown Roanoke, on Church Avenue, an old church building still stands, having been erected over one hundred years earlier. For the same period of time, it has been occupied by a congregation, whose denominational origins lead back to a rural part of Kentucky in what was called the Restoration Movement, initiated by reformers who yearned for a primitive, apostolic form of Christianity, with "no creed but Christ." Although "backcountry" in the denomination's heritage, this particular congregation began in a boomtown. While striving to become a "first century" church, reminiscent of the apostles' ministries and the church life from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... David Edwin Harrell, Jr.'s "The Agrarian Myth and the Disciples of Christ in the Nineteenth Century" as well as "The Sectional Origins of theChurches of Christ" magnificently provide readers with a thoroughly researched historical context relevant to Southern religious history in particular. In the former article, Harrell discusses, "At the heart of the myth of the garden," or the agrarian myth, "was the conviction that rural life was superior to urban life." For many in the Christian Church, Harrell demonstrates that they sought to initiate the "millennial hope" via the garden myth ideology, but in time, "The most fervent millennialists in the movement by the end of the century were the supporters of the new industrial order. Many still believed that the American farmer was a specially prepared instrument of God, but it was perfectly obvious that he was neither gaining in influence nor improving his status in society." Harrell, elsewhere, delved further into this urban versus rural idea, and how it, along with class and geographical contentions, affected the schism that divided the Disciples of Christ (Christian Church) into two major factions, one conservative, leading to the "Church of Christ," and the other liberal, retaining the Disciples of Christ name. As helpful as Harrell's article on sectionalism is, he also explained how Virginia was a bit of an anomaly in the South, where liberals "won virtually all of the churches," when ... Who are the most influential people in your life? Tough question to answer as there have been so many. The obvious of course would be my mother, wife, and daughter. But educationally, two people really come to mind. One was my microbiology professor, a very small in stature woman from the Philippines, who gave her entire lecture series, start to finish, over an entire semester, without ever looking at a note. Not once. She would have been my mentor for my master's degree had I not change course to dental school. The other is a clinical instructor at the univ.of Detroit dental school, dr. Benjamin Leone. One of the toughest instructors we had in dental school. Getting an a from him was next to impossible. But he taught us more, made us do our work to the highest standard, than most others. 2. What is your inspiration for doing your job? Couple of things. From a personal perspective, dentistry allows for a great lifestyle, giving adequate free time to pursue whatever it is you enjoy. From a professional perspective, helping people, relieving their discomfort, seeing the change in self esteem when we complete a smile rehabilitation, makes it all worthwhile 3. It was not openly embraced by organized dentistry in America until the 1840s. The Crawcour brothers brought amalgam into the United States in 1833. Half of the people with dental restorations in upstate New York consisted ofamalgam in 1844. The American Society of Dental Surgeons made all of the members to sign a pledge that restricted them from using mercury fillings, because at the time it was considered to be malpractice. That created the first dental amalgam war, but it ended in 1856 with cancelation of the association. In 1859 the American Dental Association (ADA) was founded and took the place of the American Society of Dental Surgeons. The ADA strongly defended amalgam from the allegations of being too risky from the health standpoint. In 1930 the ratio of the mercury to the remaining metallic mixture was sixty six to thirty three. Conventional amalgams (gamma–2) has thirty–two percent silver and fourteen percent tin due to the low copper content they are most susceptible to corrosion. • 15. Essay on Dental Amalgam Dental Amalgam Amalgam dental restorations which are also known as silver fillings are the number one choice for restoring teeth. These silver fillings have been used for over a hundred years to fill in cavities where there has been tooth decay. The question many have is "what is dental amalgam?" Dental amalgam is a mixture of materials containing powdered alloy, metals and mercury. There have been some concerns, however about the safety of this mercury containing filling material. "Amalgam is in the same safety class as gold and composite fillings" (FDA) and does not pose the safety concerns as once thought. Compared to other dental materials, such as composite and glass ionomer, amalgam is the "most studied and tested." (NCAHF) Many ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In order to have enough retention for the crown to stay in place, a build– up is done on the tooth before the crown is made. Also, when using an amalgam alloy for a filling, not as much natural tooth structure has to be removed in order to place the filling. Whereas, when using a composite filling, also known as tooth colored or a white filling, the retention of the filling requires removal of more tooth structure in order to have the filling stay in place. Also, there is a concern by some dentists about the longevity of composite fillings. Replacing fillings can get quite expensive for the patients and is not a very cost–effective choice. Most insurance companies will not cover the costs of having tooth colored fillings placed, but they will pay for amalgams, which is another good reason for using amalgam. When a filling lasts longer and does not need to be replaced as often, it is much more cost–effective for the patient. There are other facts to take into consideration. Patients who have "poor oral hygiene" are great candidates for amalgam fillings. (CDC). Amalgam tends to arrest decay and this is extremely helpful for a patient who has poor oral hygiene and is cavity prone. Silver fillings are more affordable (ADA) than composite, insurance companies will recognize them and they are safe. There has been quite a controversy on whether dental amalgam is safe for the patients as well as the practitioners who ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 16. All-Ceramic Restorations in Dental Work Superior aesthetics and biocompatibility of dental ceramics has driven the increasing use of all–ceramic restorations over the past decade (1). However, the brittleness and low fracture strength of ceramics can initiate crack propagation causing fracture of the restoration. Clinical studies have demonstrated that all–ceramic dental restorations have an increased resistance to fracture in service when adhesively cemented to the prepared tooth structure with resin–based composite cements (2). It is thought that the cement interacts and penetrates ceramic surface defects, preventing crack propagation. However, strengthening is dependent on sufficient resin cement polymerisation via free radical photo–polymerisation in response to blue light (450–500nm). Adequate polymerisation (DC) depends on appropriate light transmission (LT) to the resin cement, which is affected by the opacity and the thickness of the ceramic and the resin cement layer. Consequently, this will influence the mechanical properties of the resin cement together with the strength and longevity of the restoration (3, 4, 5). The aim of this current study is to analyse LT through ceramics of different shade and thicknesses; measure and map DC; and correlate the results to the degree of reinforcement achieved. Specimen preparation Twenty ceramics discs (4 ceramic shades (A1, A2, A3, A3.5)) were prepared by mixing 0.73g of Base Dentine VM7 powder (Vita, Bad SГ¤ckingen, Germany) powder with 0.29mL of Modelling Liquid ... • 17. The Main Causes Of The Meiji Restoration In Japan The main causes of the Meiji Restoration Meiji Restoration was a significant historical event not only in Japanese history but also in world history. A study (Hunt, Lynn, Thomas, & Barbara, 2009) concluded that the word "Meiji" means "enlightened rule" and the goal was to combine "modern advances" with "eastern" values. This event restored practical imperial rule to Japan under Emperor Meiji in 1868 ("Meiji Restoration", 2017). As a result, it led to the tremendous changes in political and social structure of Japan, and spanned both the Late Tokugawa period and the beginning of the Meiji period ("Meiji Restoration", 2017). The main causes of Meiji Restoration can be analyzed from the following different aspects. 1) Ecological crisis Japan was divided into 240 han which were governed by its own daimyo. After 1720, although some places prospered and others declined which depended on local circumstances, a whole Japan began to experience ecological crisis. To be specific, the number of Japanese population doubled from 15 million to 30 million. In general, the increase in population put pressure on the environment and made it easier for people to suffer from natural disasters such as famines and typhoons. These led to ecological crisis which helped destabilize Tokugawa rule and brought about further reform. 2) Foreign relation crisis and political crisis In the world history, European countries became stronger due to two events in the 1630s. A metal crown is often used on molars since the color of the material is quite noticeable, which works great since those teeth are used for chewing most often. Resin can be used when you are looking to save some money, but be aware that resin crowns wear down quickly. The material is also more susceptible to chipping than the other materials. Most people recognize dental amalgams as silver fillings. Dental amalgam is a mixture of mercury, silver, tin and copper. Mercury, which makes up about 50 percent of the compound, is used to bind the metals together and to provide a strong, hard, durable filling. After years of research, mercury has been found to be the only element that will bind these metals together in such a way that can be easily manipulated into a tooth cavity. Is mercury in dental amalgam safe? The amount of mercury released in the mouth under the pressure of chewing and grinding is extremely small and no cause for alarm. In fact, it is less than what patients are exposed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They can withstand the forces of chewing. They are less costly than the alternatives. Amalgam fillings can be completed in one dental visit. They are less sensitive to moisture during the filling process than composite resin. Disadvantages Amalgam doesn't match the color of your teeth. Your dentist may have to remove more of the tooth to create a secure pocket. Some people may be allergic to mercury or be concerned about its effects. Research shows that the amount of mercury exposure from fillings is similar to what people get from other sources in the environment. REFERANCES: By Dr. Jonathan B. The Most Convincing Approach Of Japan And China Tyler Olsen Dr. Kishida HIST 110–02 21 October 2015 The Most Convincing Approach For many years Western nations in Europe and North America had wanted to expand their trade with Japan and China; however, the people of the two Asian countries believed that the Westerners were barbarians with useless goods and religious beliefs that would challenge their traditions. Up until the 1800s, Japan and China had successfully restricted the influence of Western nations within their countries. Their ability to remain isolated from Westerners, however, quickly faded throughout the 1800s when the modernized Western nations grew more powerful and demanding. In the beginning of his article, Feng said that the Chinese were "inferior to the barbarians" (Feng 357). By this time, China had already been humiliatingly defeated by the British in the Opium War, which showed that China lacked a strong military and advanced technology ("Plotting East Asia's Future" 352). To remedy this, he proposed hiring Westerners to teach intelligent Chinese how to build strong ships and effective guns (Feng 357). Without having the military force or advanced weaponry and ships, China would be crushed again and again like it was in the Opium War and the later Sino–Japanese War, which is known as another humiliating Chinese defeat (Tignor 659). To have a powerful nation at that time, a strong military with weapons was needed. Feng knew that in order to gain the needed military strength, the Chinese were going to have to learn from Westerners on how to build better ships and guns. Two other authors also proposed reforming the military. For example, Ii Naosuke, one of the Japanese writers, had the similar idea of learning from foreigners. In his case, he wanted to employ Dutchmen as masters and mariners and put Japanese on board to study their guns, ships, and how they navigate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I think to myself, I need to call and make an appointment to get my teeth whitened with my dentist. Teeth whitening is an example of Cosmetic Dentistry. Dental bonding is a type of cosmetic dentistry that permanently attaches dental materials to the teeth by using adhesives and a special curing light. Dentists use tooth colored composite to restore chips or cracks. Also to fill cavities, close gaps between your teeth and repair worn down edges of your teeth. Dentists are the ones who do the direct composite bonding which means that the procedure is usually done in one dental visit. Dental bonding does not require any impressions or temporaries. First the dentist will place a plastic coating on the front of the teeth. Then they will place a bonding agent, colors it according to the color of your teeth, and shapes it. Then a light called the curing light is shined through the plastic that causes it to harden and makes the surface look shiny and polished. Then a thin layer of etch is placed on your teeth to make little fine holes in the enamel of your teeth. This is so the resin can stick to your teeth very well. Then many coats of composite resin are placed on your teeth ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Dental Veneers Dental veneers are thin custom–made shells designed to cover the front surface of the teeth, improving your appearance and enhancing your smile by altering the colour, shape, size and length of your teeth. Dental veneers can be made from porcelain or resin composite material. Although porcelain veneers are stain resistant and makes the teeth appear brighter, resin veneers are thinner and require less removal of the natural tooth surface before placement Veneers are generally used to fix teeth that are discoloured, have gaps, are chipped and broken, are misaligned, irregularly shaped, or have merely been worn down. • 46. Safety Of Amalgam ( Silver Fillings ) Name: Jafar Al salem NO:M 011442002 Safety of Amalgam Fillings What is Dental Amalgam (Silver Fillings)? Most people recognize dental amalgams as silver fillings. Dental amalgam is a mixture of mercury, silver, tin and copper. Mercury, which makes up about 50 percent of the compound, is used to bind the metals together and to provide a strong, hard, durable filling. After years of research, mercury has been found to be the only element that will bind these metals together in such a way that can be easily manipulated into a tooth cavity. Is mercury in dental amalgam safe? Mercury in dental amalgam is not poisonous. When mercury is combined with other materials in dental amalgam, its chemical nature changes, so it is essentially harmless. The amount of mercury released in the mouth under the pressure of chewing and grinding is extremely small and no cause for alarm. In fact, the amount is less than what patients are exposed to in food, air and water. Ongoing scientific studies conducted over the past 100 years continue to prove that amalgam is not harmful. Claims of diseases caused by mercury in amalgam are anecdotal, as are claims of miraculous cures achieved by removing amalgam. These claims have not been proven scientifically. Why do dentists use dental amalgam? Dental amalgam has withstood the test of time, which is why it is the material of choice. It has a 150–year proven track record and is still one of the safest, most durable and least expensive ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
