2. Stakeholder and problem statement
Description of the stakeholder
Joseph is a 53 years old businessman with 30+ years of experience on de IT industry who have
been running his own business for over 20 years.
Problem statement
Joseph needs a way to be able to hire advanced students considering their time
needs because he thoughts it is a win-win situation for both, students and his company.
3. Prototyped ideas
1. Try to include students in projects of their interest
One of the biggest concern of students is which area they like more in a certain profession. Knowing this is
important for their career development. If they are included in projects they can choose they can then try and
see if what they though they liked is what they really want or if they have to keep trying with others areas. On
one hand, this idea will benefit interns as they can decide weather or not they are in the right path of their
career or if they have to change. On the other, as students choose the project, it's supposed that they will be
motivated and have a good or great performance bringing better results to the client/project.
2. Offer shuttles campus-office-campus or campus-office-home so
students can save time
It is known that students have less free time as they advance at university. That makes studying-working-living a really
difficult equation to handle. By offering shuttles to/from campus, home and/or office will help saving a lot of "dead time"
needed to go from one place to another allowing interns to perform better at work and university as they have more
time and it also allows more time to share with friends and family.

! Ideas? Questions
Δ What could be improved
• Interns are motivated and therefore more
productive.
• Weekly reviews helps to quickly identify if they
like what they are doing and gives them the
chance to change.
• The intern must submit his preferences when
applying to the job so the company can predict
if any area will be saturated.
• How to handle if many interns want the same
position?
• How much responsibility must/can an intern
have?
• What happens if the internship ends before the
project? (Very likely to occur)
• A weekly meeting between interns can be
arranged so they can exchange experiences.

company knows when the interns will be
arriving.
• Interns don't lose time waiting and using public
transport.

pool some interns. Company/university will give
him some extra money for that.
• Who pays the shuttle? University or company?
• Are they bought, rented or specifically hired?
• Inters have to pay to use it?
• None.
