Cole And Jesus Transformation Essay
Cole's key ideas is that we are lowly and broken, but that is just who Jesus is calling. God calls those who struggle to follow Him and undergo a
great transformation. Discipleship must start with people who have a severe need for Christ. A transformation which will bring deserved glory to
God's name. God loves to recycle, He uses those who are looked at as worthless and broken by the world. Those who are most aware of their own sin
and depravity are most readily to be used by God. They are humbled by the consciousness of their sin, aware it is not their success, but what God
has given them to further His Glory. One does not have to be "qualified" and educated to be a successful disciple of God. You do not need a Christian
upbringing, Bible college education, or every verse memorized: you need only have a passion for God. All are called to the great commission, a
passion and love for the Lord makes you qualified.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even if it seems like we have little to offer the Lord, in the hands of Jesus we are enough. I can state it no more profoundly than Cole Himself. "We
need to turn to Jesus with what little faith we have and say 'Here is something, not much, not enough, but something' Unless we are in Jesus' hands
we cannot possibly reach the hungry souls of the world" He wants us just as we are, right where we are to turn to Him and give everything we are.
We as Christians do not grasp that the principles of discipleship are lifelong commitments. We fail to understand that discipleship, obeying Christ
constantly, is a never ending journey. There are two key ingredients to becoming, and making effective disciples for Christ. We must be in His word
daily, and bring our sins out of the darkness of secrecy. Discipleship is not something that we do, and finish; it is a climb with God one step at a

Reflection On My Final Reflection
MY FINAL REFLECTION
TASHA PARKER
COLORADO CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY In deal with the Two Natures of Christ's Person, I have found that there are a lot of people past and
present that still have some sort of an issue with the subject of God and Jesus Christ being one in the same. According to McGrath," Irenaeus of Lyons
on the Trinity" that God the Father is, "uncreated, who is uncontained, invisible, one God, creator of the universe." (McGrath, p. 157). And according
to scripture, "I and the Father are one" John 10:30 KJV. And there are many, many more scriptures that I will quote as we go along. Now I understand
the argument of not fully understanding how can God who is completely divine and not of this world, be the Son of God. And Jesus Christ who is the
son of God, that was born of a woman (I left out the virgin because of another argument) conceived by the Holy Ghost. Walked among us, grew up,
ate, lived in this land as we have, yet was without sin, holy, powerful, and God in the flesh. Okay, I can certainly see why the question came about. So,
let me take a swing at the discussion at hand. The Bible is a Prophetic Book, it is filled with divine language, definitions, and mysteries. So, to be able to
understand and answer many of the questions of this book, one must have a spiritual discernment. According to scripture, "Which things also we speak,
not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man
receiveth, not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he
that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged by no man". 1 Corinthians 2:13–15 (KJV). So, then now let me also point out that being
saved,or a believer does not mean the same thing as having a spirit of discernment. No, not at all, for this is a gift that one must receive from God
the father. Again, scripture says, "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no
variableness, neither shadow of turning", James 1:17 KJV. I could go on all day about the scriptures but I will add in this

William Carey Essay
The Mission was initially started to fulfill "The Great Commission" of Matthew 28:19. Approximately 50 years ago a few Church leaders wanted to
end the mission. Since that time the number of missionaries and finance has increased higher than ever. The Missionary is one called by God and sent
by the church "to serve God in a culture, or geographic location most likely different from their own. According to Genesis 12:1–3 God's mission was
known to the Israelites, but they chose not to follow the Abrahamic Covenant. Goyim meaning group of people with distinct political, ethnic, or
territorial identities, as a nation or people, i.e. non–Israeli (Isaiah 11:1; 12:4). Israel was labeled as "am". William Carey was called the father of
Modern Missions for two reasons. One reason was his prolific letters and pamphlets, writing in support of World Mission outreach. The other reason
was Carey's development of a functioning structure for deployment of Missionaries. Around 1970 the Presbyterian Missionaries started Theological
Education by Extension (TEE) this was a precursor to online classes. The initial use of the TEE system was to prepare pastors for rural churches.
Development of leaders was initially accomplished by one–on–one or trainings in small groups. Currently faith groups are using Bible Institutes or ...

presented many theories in understanding leadership. However, making sense of hundreds of books and thousands of studies is a complicated task,
which is why many mistakenly think that leadership is an indefinable phenomenon. Some of us presume complete authority in our own favored ways.
Novel leaders often discard the entire system used by the exiting leaders. In a catastrophic situation, persistence on individual style can be helpful; yet
in a democratic culture, leaders don't own the organization and must consider the right of the followers. Personal style and preference must be avoided

The achievement of the group is 'ceilinged in' by what the people's personal desire and even reduced by what they give. Teams like that do not go
very fast nor very far. People give but don't get much. Groups like that are normally ingrown and lack of sense mission. The groups led by the
Consensus Taker will not make any decision unless everyone in the team come to an agreement. The politics of this kind of operation is subtle. People
may try hard to feel where the wind blows and some influential people are needed to form the under–current. Groups with a leader with charisma and
deep insight may benefit in using this approach. There are other disasters too where the group never come to a decision at all when the differences
in opinion are amplified. Personal Character Growth You may have experienced that the way we are and do things are many times different from
others, and conflicts arose because of these differences. We wished many times that other people are better developed in their character. Yet, we
must know that others look at us in the same way. There remain, for most of us, a wide gap between what we wish we could be and what we are,
possibly for a long long time. It is not possible that we work with all perfect people for we are all under development. It is important for us as leaders
to keep developing our character. As a matter of fact, lack of growth in

Vocational Christian Ministry
Growing up in a home surrounded by devout, God fearing Christians directly shaped and molded my life towards the Lord and the things of Him;
though it took time. Youth group became my domain of influence spiritually and work on a ranch/farm taking care of livestock and multi–acre fields
became my sphere of influence in any way other than spiritual. By the age of 18, graduating High School, I could tell without question my life was
dichotomized; but being an adolescent I did not know it was problematic, nor did I care. After graduating High School I believed my path to be sure.
I was to attend a trade school in Missouri then return home to start my own business and make an income living the way that pleased me. All of these
things occurred in the precise manner I anticipated; that is to a point. Upon entrance into the adult working class I believe the Lord, by His divine
providence, called my life to full–time, vocational ministry. Confusion hit my mind and left me stunted. All my life to that point myfaith had been kept
at almost intentionally separate from the other realms I lived in. Because of this the question that flooded my mind was, "How am I supposed to now
combine these two pieces of myself?" At this moment the trajectory of my life forever changed. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
No question of validity ever rose in my mind. Few things have been so sure in my life. Due to the surety of vocational ministry–which vocation
remained to be seen–I sent an application to the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. Granting acceptance the Lord brought me to, and through, the
Institute with two Bachelors of Arts degrees in ministry. This time is my life excited me and ushered into my life a new focus; a focus of
scholarship. Though I did not take the beginning part of college career as seriously as it should be taken I turned a corner during my time there and

The Lost World Of Genesis 1 Summary
The Lost World of Genesis One Book Review
Within this book review we will discuss many characteristics of the author and the book. Who he is, where his stance on the subject is, his motives,
and techniques that were used to open the readers mind to understand his perspective on Genesis one. The author of the book, John H. Walton was a
professor at Moody bible institute for thirty years before becoming the current professor of Old Testament at Wheaton College. The question that
Walton asks is, in what way should we interpret the story of Genesis? His primary focus throughout the novel is to show how the seven days of
genesis compare to the cosmic temple inauguration explained by Walton as "the cosmos is being it's functions as God's temple, where he has taken up
his residence and from where he runs the cosmos" pg. 161. He ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The structure of his argument contains steps that build off of each other, further proving his point. He explains many other interpretations of the bible
and uses ancient near eastern texts to gain a knowledge of the people from that time and find out exactly what the author meant when he wrote Genesis.
He compares with the book of Genesis to these texts to prove how his interpretation is the most reasonable. Walton includes a great amount of quotes
from many credible sources that include scientific theories, ancient near eastern text and sources from the bible as well to prove his thesis. The most
important examples of this would be the theory of evolution, which can still be an act of God using Walton's "cake model", a Sumerian text of

is a type of religious reaction to all forms of modernity. Within Christianity this phenomenon is mostly characteristic of Protestantism but is also found
in Catholicism. In fact, the term fundamentalism was coined in the United States at the beginning of the 20th century, but it was only toward the end
of that century that the term began to be applied to some... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Opposing their extremist positions, in 1942 the moderates created a World Evangelical Association that the fundamentalists attacked. The
fundamentalists became visible again in the last third of the 20th century, reacting against the liberal trends in major Protestant churches. Catholicism
The fundamentalist movement in the Catholic Church has not been significant. The infallibility of the Bible is not a dogma for Catholics, thus offering
little ground for fundamentalism. Catholicism allows some leeway for developing dogma (John Henry Newman ) as well as for the importance of
tradition and, in contrast to the fundamentalists, it does not consider the Bible to be the only authority. Catholic movements today emphasize the
conservative pontifical documents from the last few centuries and are wary of the more moderate decrees of Vatican II (Monsignor LefГЁbvre's
anti–Vatican II movement in France is a vivid example). These movements did not draw undue attention from the hierarchy , but they did influence
certain informal developers of fundamentalism among some Catholics. Some such influences came from relations with Protestants–such as through
charismatic movements that crossed denominational borders. Main Characteristics of Fundamentalism The array of conservative, orthodox , and other
traditional movements are not

The Four Views Of The Book Of Revelation
The book of Revelation is broken down into 22 chapters. Each is described a different apocalyptic event. This was written during an era where an
apocalyptic genre was written. It was among many other books in its day, written with such catastrophe. This letter was written to be shared around the
major cities in Asia Minor. During this time, there were many Christian persecutions done by the Roman Empire. Thebook of Revelation brought
comfort to those who were living in fear, by knowing that God himself was with them and He was in control of all good and evil. This book has been
read by billions of people and has been interpreted in many different ways, but there are four main views that most people can categorize their
interpretation into. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The start of the preterists ideas has been linked to Jesuit Louis De Alcazar, who also had the interpretation of identifying the Pope as the antichrist
(Four Views of Revelation, 2016). Other preterists believed that their teachings were found in church writings, that were written in the fourth century.
They also believed that the writings of this view date back to pre–A.D. 70, which would mean that John had to of been writing to the church of his day.
The reasoning for believing in this viewpoint is located primarily in the book of Matthew. Chapters 24:34 in Matthew, Jesus states "Truly I say to
you, this generation will not pass away until all things take place." The fall of Jerusalem would fit the time period of Jesus' prediction of fulfilling
the prophecy. Another idea, is that Flavius Josephus, a Jewish scholar and historian, wrote a detailed record of the fall of Jerusalem, which appeared
in a variety of ways matching the symbolism in Revelation (GotQuestions, 2018). Unfortunately, these views have to be questioned in areas that lack
solid evidence. One criticism that has to be dealt with is that Christ described his return in Matthew 24:27 stating, "Lightning that comes from the east
is visible in the west, so will be the coming of the son of man." This verse has been interpreted as the Roman armies advancing on Jerusalem. Raising

Chapter One of Interplay: The Process of Interpersonal Communication is largely an introductory section, acquainting readers with some of the
foundations of communication – our needs, models and characteristics of communication, and the world's newest form of communication: social media.
One of the needs detailed during this chapter was titled "Identity Needs," and this is the particular section to which I wish to respond through this
"Biblical Response" paper. The book claims that communication is the method by which we adopt our identity – through our interactions with others
and how their perceptions impact us; the book explains, "We decide who we are based on how others react to us" (Adler 6). While this chapter seemed

Argument Against The Legalization Of Homosexual Marriage
Rhetorical Precis Austin Reynolds, in his term paper, " k," proves with strong assertations that there is evidence to support the legalization of
homosexual marriage, though many would argue that it will harm the sanctity of marriage and harm the right to freedom of religion. Reynolds
supports his ideas by expounding upon the inequality that LGBT people are given and how gay marriage will bring harm to no man, women, or
child. The author's purpose is to inform the reader on all aspects of gay marriage so they understand the controversial reasoning behind the idea as
well as the arguments against the proposal. Reynolds writes in a formal tone for the American Studies English teachers at Granite Hills High
School. Introduction Imagine you live in a world where you can't ever be married to the person you love. Thats it. No matter what you do you
cannot marry them because of a religious group. Imagine someone tells you that you can't eat a donut because they are on a diet. Now lets come
back to reality and discover that the imagining you just did is a person's everyday life. Realize that they wake up everyday to ignorant people
bestowing their beliefs upon other people and attempting to give them less rights. What other piece of American history does this parallel? This
parallels the Civil Rights movement in the 1950's. Stores and restaurants were refusing service to black people because of the way they came into this

The Story of Joshua and the Battle of Jericho Essay
"When the trumpets sounded, the people shouted...(and)... the wall collapsed" (Joshua 6:20). This is the account of Joshua and the people of Israel
when they entered the Promised Land known as Canaan. As the Lord commanded they entered the land and conquered all the cities there, beginning
with Jericho. The story of Joshua and the Battle of Jericho is a famous one. Everyone who has ever attended Sunday school has heard this famous
Biblical account. What is overlooked in Sunday school is the passage after the walls fall down, "They devoted the city to the LORD and destroyed
with the sword every living thing in it – men and women, young and old, cattle, sheep and donkeys" (Joshua 6:21). This is one of the more difficult
passages in the Bible. It ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
God was willing to give their parents the land 40 years earlier but the people were afraid of the inhabitants of that land and they doubted Yahweh.
Thus, they were doomed to wander the desert for forty years and therefore not enter the Promised Land that their children would inherit in Joshua's
time. Joshua was hand picked by God to lead the people into Canaan. Way back in Numbers chapter 13, God shows that he is special by having
Moses change his name from Hoshea to Joshua which means Yahweh saves. When Moses died the Lord told Joshua to take the people and go into
the land that he had chosen for them. This is Yahweh's call for the obedience of Joshua and his people. What is Joshua's reaction? His reaction is found
in Joshua 1:10–11, "So Joshua ordered the officers of the people: 'Go through the camp and tell the people, Three days from now you will cross the
Jordan here to go in and take possession of the land the LORD you God is given you for your own.'" So Joshua does not question, he does not
doubt, he does not hesitate and he does not falter in the task given to him. He simply goes and does it. This is an example of his great faith in God
which we must assume is based on his time with Moses and his experience in Egypt since Joshua definitely was one of the ones who was present and
would remember the events in Egypt and at the Reed Sea. So the children of Israel go forth into the land of

Cities grew up and out, with such famed architects as Louis Sullivan working on and perfecting skyscrapers (first appearing in Chicago in 1885). The
city grew from a small compact one that people could walk through to get around to a huge metropolis that required commuting by electric trolleys.
Electricity, indoor plumbing, and telephones made city life more alluring. Department stores like Macy's (in New York) and Marshall Field's (in
Chicago) provided urban working–class jobs and also attracted urban middle–class shoppers. Theodore Dreiser's Sister Carrie told of a woman's ...

4. Analyze the changes in American religious life in the late nineteenth century, including the expansion of Catholicism, Orthodoxy, and Judaism, and
the growing Protestant division between liberals and fundamentalists over Darwinism and biblical criticism
In 1859, Charles Darwin published his On the Origin of Species, which set forth the new doctrine of evolution and attracted the ire and fury of

contended that the Bible was merely a collection of moral stories or guidelines, but not sacred scripture inspired by God. Colonel Robert G. Ingersoll
was one who denounced creationism, as he had been widely persuaded by the theory of evolution. Others blended creationism and evolution to invent
their own interpretations.

Near–Death Experiences Research Draft "I looked up and I saw this light; it wasn't a normal light, it was different. It was luminescent. And it grew. I
kept looking at it like, 'What is that?' Then it grew large and I went into it" (Sunfellow, David). Neardeath experiences and the knowledge of near death
experiences have become more common in today's society. Countless books have recently been written on them such as Heaven is for Real, Near Death
Experiences of Suicide Survivors, Proof of Heaven, and 90 minutes in Heaven, but not everyone believes in these experiences. Some atheists, scientists
and doctors have all tried to debunk the theory, but are they nonbelievers or disbelievers? A non–believer is one who does not have faith or believe, a
dis–believer refuses to believe. Many people have stated that they have had near death experiences and of course with that comes the naysayers.
The point is to look beyond scientific belief and to look at the proof we have from doctors records or for some, their own experiences. There are still
many skeptics about NDEs but with countless records and so much proof, there draws a thin line between real and make believe. In order to prove that
these experiences are true to the non–believers we need to not only gather records but also scientific proof of these phenomenons. First, Religion is a
strong opponent with near–death experiences. The Bible, Koran and the Tibetan

review will focus on four major components, first being the editor's information. The editor's information will cover education, any positions they hold
today, and whatever scholarship information that is currently available. The second thing that will be reviewed will be a concise summary of the
major theme of the book followed by the third, an honest and courteous evaluation of the book. The fourth thing that will be added is a bibliography at
the end of the paper for reference of the book.
One of the first editors on the book's list is Benjamin Blackwell, PhD. He currently holds a position at the Houston Baptist University where he is in the

Some of Imogene's favorite memories were at this house, playing outside with Barb without a care in the world.
The Cothren's were a very God based family. George and Chapel raised their girls in a Godly household and expected much discipline out of their

Young Earth Realism Vs. Old Earth Creationism
This book has taught me far beyond what I expected, perhaps while reading this book I learned much more about the Genesis 1 account than I ever
learned in my entire life. Miller and Soden might argue that my lack of study in this area is a result of being a group thinker rather than an individual
thinker (30). Looking at both the Young Earthcreationism (YEC) and the Old earth creationism (OEC) views for the first time, I realized that during
my time at Moody Bible Institute I am really seeking to be challenged in my beliefs with by no means making it some kind of test for orthodoxy.
Even though both the YEC and OEC views have strong arguments the aim of this essay is to demonstrate what I took away from this book which was
written by two advocate of the OEC belief.

religious beliefs. More specifically their belief on creation since they have the most similarities with the one in Genesis 1. Miller and Soden said that
sometimes our observation of the world may require us to reconsider our understanding of the text because we have not adequately understood the text
in its original context. I agree with this statement more than ever before; my mind is blown by this book. Genesis 1:2 talks about the earth being
formless, void. Darkness and deep. Similarly, the Egyptian belied for creation is that the earth was watery, unilluminated, with darkness and
imperceptibility. Additionally, the separation from the light to darkness occurs in both account. The conundrum of having light created before the sun

Eternal Security: Can a Christian Lose His Salvation? Essay
Some view their Christian liberty as a license to sin. As Bible–believing Christians, we know this is absolutely not the case! Indeed, we are saved by
grace, and not through our good works. But what happens when a Christian falls from the path, into his old ways? A Calvinist would say that a true
believer cannot lose his salvation, while an Arminian would say that one can lose his salvation (Dunham 41). The purpose of this paper is to look at
the issue of eternal security, and to determine whether "once saved, always saved" does hold true, or whether a Christian can lose his salvation.

him. His life was saved by the intercession of Christ... (Horne 100)."
Salvation is not earned by our own merit; it is a gift given to desperate sinners. According to Calvinistic theology, it is not whether or not one continues
doing good works that determines salvation; the strength of the Father is that which guarantees this condition of safety (Strombeck 1).
This point has been a hotbed of controversy for many years, since it seems to say that one can accept Christ's gift of salvation, but then going on
living a life of deliberate and willful sin and debauchery. This is not at all what eternal security is about! "Belief in Jesus Christ entails denying oneself
both gratification of sinful appetites and any pleasure, though not evil in itself, that steals affection for Christ. One who believes in Jesus Christ picks
up one's own cross, an instrument of death to sin, and follows after Him (Schreiner 135)."

Billy Graham Accomplishments
Dr. Billy Graham told William McKay during an interview that "My only concern is that my image on screen would eclipse the image of Jesus. I
am at an age where I know that I will be standing before my Savior soon, and I don't want anything to disappoint him." (McKay, p. 1) Billy Graham's
goal through life was for others to see Jesus through him and in him so that when he saw his Savior, He would be proud of him. Billy Graham is
remembered as a great evangelist because his early life helped prepare him for adulthood while his evangelical career led him to many
accomplishments and life lessons that he used to lead others to Christ.

He was the oldest of four children so he would have to get up at 4 A.M. to milk the cows, feed the chickens, goats and cats and often smelled like

evangelist, came through and Billy heard him preach and accepted Christ at the age of 16 and he was never the same. He started preaching to the

Gilded Age Essay
"In 1873 Mark Twain and Charles Warner wrote the novel, The Gilded Age: A Tale of of Today. The term the Gilded Age was later used for the era
in American history that began in 1870 and lasted until 1900. This was a fitting description for this era because America appeared to be a great and
amazing country, however many critics pointed out that the country has lots of poverty, corruption, crime, and great separations of wealth between the
rich and the poor. The Gilded Age was rapidly growing in industry because of all of the inventions that were created. The cities grew in size which
brought a high demand of housing. As a result of more housing skyscrapers, created by Andrew Carnegie, and mansions were built. At this time

Reforms began to organize to help the urban poor and formed organizations, such as The Social Gospel Movement, the Salvation Army, the YMCA,
the settlement house, and women's clubs. The Social Gospel Movement worked to better the conditions in cities applying the biblical ideas of charity
and justice. The movement inspired many churches to build gyms, provide social programs and child care, and help the poor. The Salvation Army and
the YMCA also combined faith and an interest in reform. The Salvation Army offered practical aid and religious counseling to the urban poor. The
YMCA helped industrial workers and the urban poor by organizing Bible studies, citizenship training, and group activities. They also provided
low–cost boarding houses for young men. Dwight L. Moody, the president of the Chicago YMCA, felt the way to help the urban poor was redeeming
their souls and character, and not providing them service, like the Social Gospel and Social Darwinism proposed how to help the poor. The settlement

Author Bart D. Ehrman on Scriptures
What does it mean to question the authenticity and originality of a religious scripture? Is it a life changing question? Yes, it absolutely can be a life
changing curiosity leading to a long journey of research. As it was the case for Bart D. Ehrman. Ehram a less devout episcopal Christian who
converted to evangelical Christianity, in an essence, re–embraced the religion at a young age and started studying Christianity. His education started off
at Moody Bible Institute and the Wheaton College and later received his PhD in New Testament studies. During his studies, Ehram developed a
particular interest about infallibility and inerrancy of the Christian scripture. In a quest of finding answers for his questions about Scripture he wrote a
book Misquoting Jesus: The Story Behind Who Changed the Bible and Why. The main thesis of the book reads "The book is about ancient
manuscripts of the New Testament and the differences found in them, about scribes who copied scripture and sometimes changed it. This may not
seem to be very promising as a key to one's own autobiography, but there it is. One has little control over such things" . The book is a very readable,
accurate condensation of many of the most important facts about the nature and history of textual criticism. A critical review of the book demonstrates
that Ehram almost absolutely proves the thesis statement of the book.
Ehram has written the book in a plain language for an audience with no prior knowledge of the history

Liberal Arts For The Christian Mind Leland Ryken
There is probably no other time in our lives more formational than the college experience. So much depends on these few early years in our live as
we grow socially, mentally, and (for some of us) spiritually. Therefore, the college decision may be the most important one we ever make in our lives.
People often view a liberal arts college as a place for people who don't know what they want to do with their lives. They come out knowing a little bit
of everything, just enough to get you a job in what interests you once you graduate. However, this is not the case. A liberal arts education prepares
us for more than just a vocation but rather all of life. In the book Liberal Arts for the Christian Mind Leland Ryken says that "A liberal education
prepares people to do well in all that they may be called to do in life" (L. Ryken 19). Yet as Christians we must factor our calling to a life service into
this equation. Ryken also says "Loving and serving God should be the foundation for everything else that you do at college." The Christian liberal arts
is the most effective education system to prepare for a life of service to Jesus Christ and the church. So what's so special about the liberal arts?
People tend to view it as a jack of all trades, master of none type of education. It's commonly believed that those who attend liberal arts colleges are
people with no direction in life, people who only applied because that was the logical next step after high school. I can identify

my acceptance email was filled with mixed emotions. I had planned to go to the school's campus in Chicago, IL. The email revealed that there was no
room for me there, but I was accepted to the secondary campus in Spokane, WA. I was disappointed and wondered if this meant I should not go at all.

What does the future hold? What will happen at the end of the age? Will the church be raptured up into Heaven or will the church remain on Earth?
Are the Jews still God's chosen people? Has the church replaced Israel? These and other questions have been asked since Jesus left Earth and ascended
into Heaven. Since that day Christians have been looking and longing with eager anticipation for the return of Christ. The study of the return of Christ,
or last things, is known as Eschatology, and within Eschatology there are several schools of thought concerning the Church and Israel. These schools of
thought are known as Covenant and Dispensational Theology. Two similar schools of thought within Dispensational theology are known as Classical

Boice writes, "In the OT there is the creation of an ekklesia, an assembly of those who are called out of a normal relationship to the world in order
to be a special people of God." The church is not "Plan B" in God's plan of salvation but rather was hinted at in the OT through the calling out of
Abraham and Israel but was not fully realized until the NT. Blaising argues this point when he writes, "The church is seen less and less as a
parenthesis in the divine program. Instead it is seen as vitally linked to and comprehended in the plan of God revealed in the Old Testament." The sharp
line which is drawn between the Church and Israel is dulled within PD as this view attempts to harmonize the two Testaments into one unifying work of
God throughout all of history.
TD views the church as in a parenthetical relationship with God and His plan for Israel. TD taught that the offer to the kingdom of Israel was genuine,
but it was also conditional and contingent on the nations response, when Israel choose to reject the Messiah, the offer of Jesus Christ was offered to the
Gentiles and the kingdom did not immediately appear but was postponed. TD argue that had the Israelites accepted the Messiah the Kingdom would
have begun immediately, however, since Israel rejected Jesus the offer went to the Gentiles. Therefore, since

Introduction to Christian Leadership Leadership scholars have presented many theories in understanding leadership. However, making sense of
hundreds of books and thousands of studies is a complicated task, which is why many mistakenly think that leadership is an indefinable phenomenon.
Some of us presume complete authority in our own favored ways. Novel leaders often discard the entire system used by the exiting leaders. In a
catastrophic situation, persistence on individual style can be helpful; yet in a democratic culture, leaders don't own the organization and must consider
the right of the followers. Personal style and preference must be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When the people sinned against God and went astray, God called the prophets to rebuke His people, when they repented and needed reconciliation
and mediation, the prophets shut up and the priests were called forward to make peace between God and people. After they became a nation, when
the Israelite nation had to be organized to fulfill a mission like building a city or the temple, to organize an army and fight against the enemy, the
Kings were called forward and the prophets and priests were removed from the spot lights.
Styles of Organizational Leadership All three functions are affected by our personality. We must note also that the role of an organizational leader is
just as spiritual as that of the prophet or priest. The relatively more detailed discussion of style and personal character in the organizational function
should not undermine the importance of the other two. We have chosen to focus on the organizational leader's function this time only because it is a
more commonly or broadly needed skill.
Different situations call for different approaches There are many ways leaders approach their task of organization or management, all derived from their
personality and character. Each of these styles has its advantages and disadvantages. The Tyrannical Dictator likes a strict structure of authority with

This, along with the other factors mentioned above will have an impact on the strategy to planting a church among the poor of this city.
FACTORS OF STRATEGY AND METHOD Before the work begins, a strategy must be put in place and methods must be decided. This section will
outline and describe how the church plant will begin and unfold. The beginning stages and the factors most important to it will be described in this
section as well. The plan will serve as a guideline to the work that will be done to see that the church is carefully given over to national leadership so
that it may continue reproducing itself in the region and throughout the world.
The Prayer Factor The first factor that will be implemented in the church plant in Barreiras is prayer. AsJesus demonstrated in his earthly ministry,
prayer is a vital part of a successful communion with God. In Matthew 14 Jesus had just finished performing the miracle of feeding 5,000 men plus
women and children. In verse 23 he "went up into a mountain apart to pray." Jesus also spent special time in prayer before his suffering and death.
"And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed..." (Matthew 26:39). In The Book of Church Growth: History, Theology, and Principles,
Thom S. Rainer confirms the importance of prayer in the life of the local church. He stated, "There is simply no more important principle on Church
Growth than prayer."[4] Reflecting on

The book starts him off at a young age of 16. He had a very pessimistic attitude about his life, how he worked all year long without a break, but this
young man did not know what the Lord was holding for him in the future. God used Dwight in multiple ways. Dwight in the end, though very ill, still

The Man Jeremiah and his Mission: The Prophet Jeremiah, son of Hilkiah, was of the priesthood race, and a native of Anathoth, a village in the tribe
of Benjamin, within a few miles of Jerusalem, which had been appointed for the use of the priests, the descendants of Aaron. He was called to the
prophetic office when very young; probably when he was fourteen years of age, and in the thirteenth of the reign of Josiah, 629 BC. He continued to
prophesy till after the destruction of Jerusalem by the Chaldeans, and about two years afterwards till he died in Egypt. The name Jeremiah translated

Jeremiah's Ministry: The ministry of Jeremiah really belonged to the last 18 years of Josiah's reign. Judah's probation was then going on, her salvation
still possible; though each year Judah's guilt became heavier, her condemnation became more certain. However, to the eye of man, her punishment
seemed more remote than ever. Jehoiakim was the willing vassal of Egypt, the supreme power. No wonder that, being an irreligious man, he scorned
all of Jeremiah's predictions of utter and early ruin. It is no wonder that he destroyed Jeremiah's scroll, as merely the record of the outpourings of
mere fanaticism. It was his last chance, his last offer of mercy: and as he threw the torn fragments of the scroll onto the fire, he symbolically threw
there his royal house, his doomed city, the Temple, and all the people of the land. It was in this fourth year of Jehoiakim that Jeremiah boldly foretold
the greatness of Nebuchadnezzar's empire, and the wide limits over which it would extend. This prophecy Jer. 25 placed his life in danger, so that "the
Lord hid" him and Baruch. When Jeremiah appears again, Nebuchadnezzar was advancing upon Jerusalem to execute the prophecy contained in. In
addition, with the death of Jehoiakim, the first period of Judah's history was brought to a close. Though Jeremiah remained with Zedekiah, and tried to
influence him for good, yet Jeremiah's mission was over. Jeremiah himself testifies that the people of

Many marketplace leaders express a desire to have greater impact for God in the workplace, but their view and understanding of Kingdom ministry
hinders them. The common belief that sacred is separate from secular is pervasive among marketplace believers. This view is detrimental to the
advancement of the Kingdom. Contrary to this belief, Scripture represents a holistic approach, which views work as worship with all believers as
one–of–a kind ministers of God's grace in the context in which He places them. A deficient understanding of the importance of a God–given calling to
serve the Kingdom in a marketplace vocation weakens a believer's perspective and witness as he or she seeks to engage with unsaved humanity. Also,
many Spirit–filled marketplace ministers lack hope and faith that the gifts of the Spirit will operate through them in workplace contexts. The present
state of corruption, greed, and moral failure among leaders in corporate America bears witness to the need for the Church to more effectively engage
in the marketplace. Informed and relevant equipping and empowering of workplace believers by knowledgeable church leaders can help direct God's
followers toward this goal. Greater and more industrious works of service are possible through increased communication and collaboration between

Religious Revival of the 1950s
After Americans endured two decades of continuous depression, war and crisis through the 1930's and 40's, they sought a return to normalcy and
longed to focus on the more private details of existence. Instead of national objectives, the public concentrated on family, home, and career, while
becoming increasingly absorbed in religion.
As the 1950's saw America in a state of national exhaustion, religion–in–general experienced a surge in popularity. Many critical views were silenced or
ignored as people became more accepting of a wide variety of beliefs. While the revival was unexpected and unstructured, several events fueled the
movement.
World War II left the country weary and drained. During the four seemingly–endless years of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Catherine Wood Marshall also wrote a book offering realistic insight and moral inspiration. Women were contributing more directly to public life in the
1950's, and when her husband, minister Peter Marshall, died, she gathered his journals and sermons to publish A Man Called Peter.
Not only were women writing religious books, but Post–war America saw women entering the ministry. Women had made up the majority of members
in church congregations for centuries, but few denominations had recognized them as leaders before the 50's. Conservative churches limited leadership
to Bible studies and social programs, but many major denominations joined the Quakers and Pentecostals in ordaining them as ministers.
With an endless reserve of new students and a thriving economy to fall back on, theological schools flourished. Seminaries and other Bible–based
schools saw record enrollment. New faculty was added and new areas of study were introduced into the curriculum. Most of these schools became part
of the evangelical enterprise, with traveling ministers or radio broadcasts, like those of the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. These schools sought to
guide the church leaders of the future while also creating a positive public image for evangelism and religious education.
With these new advancements in the Protestant and Catholic churches, also came the growth of other religions. A network called the "Beat

Cole And Jesus Transformation Essay

  • 1. Cole And Jesus Transformation Essay Cole's key ideas is that we are lowly and broken, but that is just who Jesus is calling. God calls those who struggle to follow Him and undergo a great transformation. Discipleship must start with people who have a severe need for Christ. A transformation which will bring deserved glory to God's name. God loves to recycle, He uses those who are looked at as worthless and broken by the world. Those who are most aware of their own sin and depravity are most readily to be used by God. They are humbled by the consciousness of their sin, aware it is not their success, but what God has given them to further His Glory. One does not have to be "qualified" and educated to be a successful disciple of God. You do not need a Christian upbringing, Bible college education, or every verse memorized: you need only have a passion for God. All are called to the great commission, a passion and love for the Lord makes you qualified.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even if it seems like we have little to offer the Lord, in the hands of Jesus we are enough. I can state it no more profoundly than Cole Himself. "We need to turn to Jesus with what little faith we have and say 'Here is something, not much, not enough, but something' Unless we are in Jesus' hands we cannot possibly reach the hungry souls of the world" He wants us just as we are, right where we are to turn to Him and give everything we are. We as Christians do not grasp that the principles of discipleship are lifelong commitments. We fail to understand that discipleship, obeying Christ constantly, is a never ending journey. There are two key ingredients to becoming, and making effective disciples for Christ. We must be in His word daily, and bring our sins out of the darkness of secrecy. Discipleship is not something that we do, and finish; it is a climb with God one step at a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Reflection On My Final Reflection MY FINAL REFLECTION TASHA PARKER COLORADO CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY In deal with the Two Natures of Christ's Person, I have found that there are a lot of people past and present that still have some sort of an issue with the subject of God and Jesus Christ being one in the same. According to McGrath," Irenaeus of Lyons on the Trinity" that God the Father is, "uncreated, who is uncontained, invisible, one God, creator of the universe." (McGrath, p. 157). And according to scripture, "I and the Father are one" John 10:30 KJV. And there are many, many more scriptures that I will quote as we go along. Now I understand the argument of not fully understanding how can God who is completely divine and not of this world, be the Son of God. And Jesus Christ who is the son of God, that was born of a woman (I left out the virgin because of another argument) conceived by the Holy Ghost. Walked among us, grew up, ate, lived in this land as we have, yet was without sin, holy, powerful, and God in the flesh. Okay, I can certainly see why the question came about. So, let me take a swing at the discussion at hand. The Bible is a Prophetic Book, it is filled with divine language, definitions, and mysteries. So, to be able to understand and answer many of the questions of this book, one must have a spiritual discernment. According to scripture, "Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth, not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged by no man". 1 Corinthians 2:13–15 (KJV). So, then now let me also point out that being saved,or a believer does not mean the same thing as having a spirit of discernment. No, not at all, for this is a gift that one must receive from God the father. Again, scripture says, "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning", James 1:17 KJV. I could go on all day about the scriptures but I will add in this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. William Carey Essay The Mission was initially started to fulfill "The Great Commission" of Matthew 28:19. Approximately 50 years ago a few Church leaders wanted to end the mission. Since that time the number of missionaries and finance has increased higher than ever. The Missionary is one called by God and sent by the church "to serve God in a culture, or geographic location most likely different from their own. According to Genesis 12:1–3 God's mission was known to the Israelites, but they chose not to follow the Abrahamic Covenant. Goyim meaning group of people with distinct political, ethnic, or territorial identities, as a nation or people, i.e. non–Israeli (Isaiah 11:1; 12:4). Israel was labeled as "am". William Carey was called the father of Modern Missions for two reasons. One reason was his prolific letters and pamphlets, writing in support of World Mission outreach. The other reason was Carey's development of a functioning structure for deployment of Missionaries. Around 1970 the Presbyterian Missionaries started Theological Education by Extension (TEE) this was a precursor to online classes. The initial use of the TEE system was to prepare pastors for rural churches. Development of leaders was initially accomplished by one–on–one or trainings in small groups. Currently faith groups are using Bible Institutes or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 4. Christian Leadership Christian Leadership Author's Name Title of the Course Instructor's Name Date Introduction to Christian Leadership Leadership scholars have presented many theories in understanding leadership. However, making sense of hundreds of books and thousands of studies is a complicated task, which is why many mistakenly think that leadership is an indefinable phenomenon. Some of us presume complete authority in our own favored ways. Novel leaders often discard the entire system used by the exiting leaders. In a catastrophic situation, persistence on individual style can be helpful; yet in a democratic culture, leaders don't own the organization and must consider the right of the followers. Personal style and preference must be avoided in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The achievement of the group is 'ceilinged in' by what the people's personal desire and even reduced by what they give. Teams like that do not go very fast nor very far. People give but don't get much. Groups like that are normally ingrown and lack of sense mission. The groups led by the Consensus Taker will not make any decision unless everyone in the team come to an agreement. The politics of this kind of operation is subtle. People may try hard to feel where the wind blows and some influential people are needed to form the under–current. Groups with a leader with charisma and deep insight may benefit in using this approach. There are other disasters too where the group never come to a decision at all when the differences in opinion are amplified. Personal Character Growth You may have experienced that the way we are and do things are many times different from others, and conflicts arose because of these differences. We wished many times that other people are better developed in their character. Yet, we must know that others look at us in the same way. There remain, for most of us, a wide gap between what we wish we could be and what we are, possibly for a long long time. It is not possible that we work with all perfect people for we are all under development. It is important for us as leaders to keep developing our character. As a matter of fact, lack of growth in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Vocational Christian Ministry Growing up in a home surrounded by devout, God fearing Christians directly shaped and molded my life towards the Lord and the things of Him; though it took time. Youth group became my domain of influence spiritually and work on a ranch/farm taking care of livestock and multi–acre fields became my sphere of influence in any way other than spiritual. By the age of 18, graduating High School, I could tell without question my life was dichotomized; but being an adolescent I did not know it was problematic, nor did I care. After graduating High School I believed my path to be sure. I was to attend a trade school in Missouri then return home to start my own business and make an income living the way that pleased me. All of these things occurred in the precise manner I anticipated; that is to a point. Upon entrance into the adult working class I believe the Lord, by His divine providence, called my life to full–time, vocational ministry. Confusion hit my mind and left me stunted. All my life to that point myfaith had been kept at almost intentionally separate from the other realms I lived in. Because of this the question that flooded my mind was, "How am I supposed to now combine these two pieces of myself?" At this moment the trajectory of my life forever changed. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... No question of validity ever rose in my mind. Few things have been so sure in my life. Due to the surety of vocational ministry–which vocation remained to be seen–I sent an application to the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. Granting acceptance the Lord brought me to, and through, the Institute with two Bachelors of Arts degrees in ministry. This time is my life excited me and ushered into my life a new focus; a focus of scholarship. Who he is, where his stance on the subject is, his motives, and techniques that were used to open the readers mind to understand his perspective on Genesis one. The author of the book, John H. Walton was a professor at Moody bible institute for thirty years before becoming the current professor of Old Testament at Wheaton College. The question that Walton asks is, in what way should we interpret the story of Genesis? His primary focus throughout the novel is to show how the seven days of genesis compare to the cosmic temple inauguration explained by Walton as "the cosmos is being it's functions as God's temple, where he has taken up his residence and from where he runs the cosmos" pg. 161. He explains many other interpretations of the bible and uses ancient near eastern texts to gain a knowledge of the people from that time and find out exactly what the author meant when he wrote Genesis. He compares with the book of Genesis to these texts to prove how his interpretation is the most reasonable. Walton includes a great amount of quotes from many credible sources that include scientific theories, ancient near eastern text and sources from the bible as well to prove his thesis. The most important examples of this would be the theory of evolution, which can still be an act of God using Walton's "cake model", a Sumerian text of Gudea's construction of a temple shows the temple serving a cosmic function, and examples from the bible which include the use of "day" by God when regarding to light, this gives the term a functional sense instead of the materialistic meaning of ... A Paper Submitted to Dr. Homer Massey In Partial Fulfillment Of the Requirements for the Course History of Christianity II CHHI 525 By, Johnny walker INERRANCY OF THE SCRIPTURES Outline Fundamentalism is a type of religious reaction to all forms of modernity. Within Christianity this phenomenon is mostly characteristic of Protestantism but is also found in Catholicism. In fact, the term fundamentalism was coined in the United States at the beginning of the 20th century, but it was only toward the end of that century that the term began to be applied to some... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Opposing their extremist positions, in 1942 the moderates created a World Evangelical Association that the fundamentalists attacked. The fundamentalists became visible again in the last third of the 20th century, reacting against the liberal trends in major Protestant churches. Catholicism The fundamentalist movement in the Catholic Church has not been significant. The infallibility of the Bible is not a dogma for Catholics, thus offering little ground for fundamentalism. Catholicism allows some leeway for developing dogma (John Henry Newman ) as well as for the importance of tradition and, in contrast to the fundamentalists, it does not consider the Bible to be the only authority. Catholic movements today emphasize the conservative pontifical documents from the last few centuries and are wary of the more moderate decrees of Vatican II (Monsignor LefГЁbvre's anti–Vatican II movement in France is a vivid example). These movements did not draw undue attention from the hierarchy , but they did influence certain informal developers of fundamentalism among some Catholics. Some such influences came from relations with Protestants–such as through charismatic movements that crossed denominational borders. Main Characteristics of Fundamentalism The array of conservative, orthodox , and other traditional movements are not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. The Four Views Of The Book Of Revelation The book of Revelation is broken down into 22 chapters. Each is described a different apocalyptic event. This was written during an era where an apocalyptic genre was written. It was among many other books in its day, written with such catastrophe. This letter was written to be shared around the major cities in Asia Minor. During this time, there were many Christian persecutions done by the Roman Empire. Thebook of Revelation brought comfort to those who were living in fear, by knowing that God himself was with them and He was in control of all good and evil. This book has been read by billions of people and has been interpreted in many different ways, but there are four main views that most people can categorize their interpretation into. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The start of the preterists ideas has been linked to Jesuit Louis De Alcazar, who also had the interpretation of identifying the Pope as the antichrist (Four Views of Revelation, 2016). Chapters 24:34 in Matthew, Jesus states "Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all things take place." The fall of Jerusalem would fit the time period of Jesus' prediction of fulfilling the prophecy. Another idea, is that Flavius Josephus, a Jewish scholar and historian, wrote a detailed record of the fall of Jerusalem, which appeared in a variety of ways matching the symbolism in Revelation (GotQuestions, 2018). Unfortunately, these views have to be questioned in areas that lack solid evidence. One criticism that has to be dealt with is that Christ described his return in Matthew 24:27 stating, "Lightning that comes from the east is visible in the west, so will be the coming of the son of man." This verse has been interpreted as the Roman armies advancing on Jerusalem. Raising the question, how can the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Interplay: The Process Of Interpersonal Communication Chapter One of Interplay: The Process of Interpersonal Communication is largely an introductory section, acquainting readers with some of the foundations of communication – our needs, models and characteristics of communication, and the world's newest form of communication: social media. One of the needs detailed during this chapter was titled "Identity Needs," and this is the particular section to which I wish to respond through this "Biblical Response" paper. The book claims that communication is the method by which we adopt our identity – through our interactions with others and how their perceptions impact us; the book explains, "We decide who we are based on how others react to us" (Adler 6). • 10. Argument Against The Legalization Of Homosexual Marriage Rhetorical Precis Austin Reynolds, in his term paper, " k," proves with strong assertations that there is evidence to support the legalization of homosexual marriage, though many would argue that it will harm the sanctity of marriage and harm the right to freedom of religion. Reynolds supports his ideas by expounding upon the inequality that LGBT people are given and how gay marriage will bring harm to no man, women, or child. The author's purpose is to inform the reader on all aspects of gay marriage so they understand the controversial reasoning behind the idea as well as the arguments against the proposal. Reynolds writes in a formal tone for the American Studies English teachers at Granite Hills High School. Introduction Imagine you live in a world where you can't ever be married to the person you love. Thats it. No matter what you do you cannot marry them because of a religious group. Imagine someone tells you that you can't eat a donut because they are on a diet. Now lets come back to reality and discover that the imagining you just did is a person's everyday life. Realize that they wake up everyday to ignorant people bestowing their beliefs upon other people and attempting to give them less rights. What other piece of American history does this parallel? This is the account of Joshua and the people of Israel when they entered the Promised Land known as Canaan. As the Lord commanded they entered the land and conquered all the cities there, beginning with Jericho. The story of Joshua and the Battle of Jericho is a famous one. Everyone who has ever attended Sunday school has heard this famous Biblical account. What is overlooked in Sunday school is the passage after the walls fall down, "They devoted the city to the LORD and destroyed with the sword every living thing in it – men and women, young and old, cattle, sheep and donkeys" (Joshua 6:21). This is one of the more difficult passages in the Bible. It ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... God was willing to give their parents the land 40 years earlier but the people were afraid of the inhabitants of that land and they doubted Yahweh. Thus, they were doomed to wander the desert for forty years and therefore not enter the Promised Land that their children would inherit in Joshua's time. Joshua was hand picked by God to lead the people into Canaan. Way back in Numbers chapter 13, God shows that he is special by having Moses change his name from Hoshea to Joshua which means Yahweh saves. When Moses died the Lord told Joshua to take the people and go into the land that he had chosen for them. This is Yahweh's call for the obedience of Joshua and his people. What is Joshua's reaction? His reaction is found in Joshua 1:10–11, "So Joshua ordered the officers of the people: 'Go through the camp and tell the people, Three days from now you will cross the Jordan here to go in and take possession of the land the LORD you God is given you for your own.'" So Joshua does not question, he does not doubt, he does not hesitate and he does not falter in the task given to him. He simply goes and does it. This is an example of his great faith in God which we must assume is based on his time with Moses and his experience in Egypt since Joshua definitely was one of the ones who was present and would remember the events in Egypt and at the Reed Sea. Describe the rise of the American industrial city, and place it in the context of worldwide trends of urbanization and mass migration (the European diaspora) Cities grew up and out, with such famed architects as Louis Sullivan working on and perfecting skyscrapers (first appearing in Chicago in 1885). The city grew from a small compact one that people could walk through to get around to a huge metropolis that required commuting by electric trolleys. Electricity, indoor plumbing, and telephones made city life more alluring. Near Death Experiences Research Draft Sienna Carugan October 30, 2014 CPC Research Peer Edit Near–Death Experiences Research Draft "I looked up and I saw this light; it wasn't a normal light, it was different. It was luminescent. And it grew. I kept looking at it like, 'What is that?' Then it grew large and I went into it" (Sunfellow, David). Neardeath experiences and the knowledge of near death experiences have become more common in today's society. Countless books have recently been written on them such as Heaven is for Real, Near Death Experiences of Suicide Survivors, Proof of Heaven, and 90 minutes in Heaven, but not everyone believes in these experiences. Some atheists, scientists and doctors have all tried to debunk the theory, but are they nonbelievers or disbelievers? A non–believer is one who does not have faith or believe, a dis–believer refuses to believe. Many people have stated that they have had near death experiences and of course with that comes the naysayers. The point is to look beyond scientific belief and to look at the proof we have from doctors records or for some, their own experiences. There are still many skeptics about NDEs but with countless records and so much proof, there draws a thin line between real and make believe. In order to prove that these experiences are true to the non–believers we need to not only gather records but also scientific proof of these phenomenons. First, Religion is a strong opponent with near–death experiences. The Bible, Koran and the Tibetan ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 20. Eternal Security: Can a Christian Lose His Salvation? Essay Some view their Christian liberty as a license to sin. As Bible–believing Christians, we know this is absolutely not the case! Indeed, we are saved by grace, and not through our good works. But what happens when a Christian falls from the path, into his old ways? A Calvinist would say that a true believer cannot lose his salvation, while an Arminian would say that one can lose his salvation (Dunham 41). The purpose of this paper is to look at the issue of eternal security, and to determine whether "once saved, always saved" does hold true, or whether a Christian can lose his salvation. Eternal Security The definition of eternal security, or perseverance of the saints, is defined in the Moody Handbook of Theology as "The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He, the one who had confessed Christ at Caesarea Philippi, was the very one who forsook Him in the darkest hour of His life. He made his contribution to the total forsakenness of the Man of Sorrows. Truly, it was not Peter's faith, love, and faithfulness that preserved him. His life was saved by the intercession of Christ... (Horne 100)." Salvation is not earned by our own merit; it is a gift given to desperate sinners. According to Calvinistic theology, it is not whether or not one continues doing good works that determines salvation; the strength of the Father is that which guarantees this condition of safety (Strombeck 1). This point has been a hotbed of controversy for many years, since it seems to say that one can accept Christ's gift of salvation, but then going on living a life of deliberate and willful sin and debauchery. This is not at all what eternal security is about! "Belief in Jesus Christ entails denying oneself both gratification of sinful appetites and any pleasure, though not evil in itself, that steals affection for Christ. One who believes in Jesus Christ picks up one's own cross, an instrument of death to sin, and follows after Him (Schreiner 135)." Ehram a less devout episcopal Christian who converted to evangelical Christianity, in an essence, re–embraced the religion at a young age and started studying Christianity. His education started off at Moody Bible Institute and the Wheaton College and later received his PhD in New Testament studies. In a quest of finding answers for his questions about Scripture he wrote a book Misquoting Jesus: The Story Behind Who Changed the Bible and Why. The main thesis of the book reads "The book is about ancient manuscripts of the New Testament and the differences found in them, about scribes who copied scripture and sometimes changed it. This may not seem to be very promising as a key to one's own autobiography, but there it is. One has little control over such things" . The book is a very readable, accurate condensation of many of the most important facts about the nature and history of textual criticism. • 28. Liberal Arts For The Christian Mind Leland Ryken There is probably no other time in our lives more formational than the college experience. So much depends on these few early years in our live as we grow socially, mentally, and (for some of us) spiritually. Therefore, the college decision may be the most important one we ever make in our lives. People often view a liberal arts college as a place for people who don't know what they want to do with their lives. They come out knowing a little bit of everything, just enough to get you a job in what interests you once you graduate. However, this is not the case. A liberal arts education prepares us for more than just a vocation but rather all of life. In the book Liberal Arts for the Christian Mind Leland Ryken says that "A liberal education prepares people to do well in all that they may be called to do in life" (L. Ryken 19). Yet as Christians we must factor our calling to a life service into this equation. Ryken also says "Loving and serving God should be the foundation for everything else that you do at college." The Christian liberal arts is the most effective education system to prepare for a life of service to Jesus Christ and the church. So what's so special about the liberal arts? People tend to view it as a jack of all trades, master of none type of education. It's commonly believed that those who attend liberal arts colleges are people with no direction in life, people who only applied because that was the logical next step after high school. After they became a nation, when the Israelite nation had to be organized to fulfill a mission like building a city or the temple, to organize an army and fight against the enemy, the Kings were called forward and the prophets and priests were removed from the spot lights. Styles of Organizational Leadership All three functions are affected by our personality. We must note also that the role of an organizational leader is just as spiritual as that of the prophet or priest. The relatively more detailed discussion of style and personal character in the organizational function should not undermine the importance of the other two. We have chosen to focus on the organizational leader's function this time only because it is a more commonly or broadly needed skill. Different situations call for different approaches There are many ways leaders approach their task of organization or management, all derived from their personality and character. Each of these styles has its advantages and disadvantages. The Tyrannical Dictator likes a strict structure of authority with himself on

  • 37. The Prayer Factor The first factor that will be implemented in the church plant in Barreiras is prayer. AsJesus demonstrated in his earthly ministry, prayer is a vital part of a successful communion with God. In Matthew 14 Jesus had just finished performing the miracle of feeding 5,000 men plus women and children. In verse 23 he "went up into a mountain apart to pray." Jesus also spent special time in prayer before his suffering and death. "And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed..." (Matthew 26:39). In The Book of Church Growth: History, Theology, and Principles, Thom S. Rainer confirms the importance of prayer in the life of the local church. He stated, "There is simply no more important principle on Church Growth than prayer."[4] Reflecting on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 40. Major Prophets Research Paper on Jeremiah Major Prophets Research Paper on Jeremiah The Man Jeremiah and his Mission: The Prophet Jeremiah, son of Hilkiah, was of the priesthood race, and a native of Anathoth, a village in the tribe of Benjamin, within a few miles of Jerusalem, which had been appointed for the use of the priests, the descendants of Aaron. He was called to the prophetic office when very young; probably when he was fourteen years of age, and in the thirteenth of the reign of Josiah, 629 BC. He continued to prophesy till after the destruction of Jerusalem by the Chaldeans, and about two years afterwards till he died in Egypt. The name Jeremiah translated from the Hebrew word yirmeyahu, means Jehovah throws. In addition, throughout the times of Jeremiah, Jehovah ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Jeremiah's Ministry: The ministry of Jeremiah really belonged to the last 18 years of Josiah's reign. Judah's probation was then going on, her salvation still possible; though each year Judah's guilt became heavier, her condemnation became more certain. However, to the eye of man, her punishment seemed more remote than ever. Jehoiakim was the willing vassal of Egypt, the supreme power. No wonder that, being an irreligious man, he scorned all of Jeremiah's predictions of utter and early ruin. It is no wonder that he destroyed Jeremiah's scroll, as merely the record of the outpourings of mere fanaticism. It was his last chance, his last offer of mercy: and as he threw the torn fragments of the scroll onto the fire, he symbolically threw there his royal house, his doomed city, the Temple, and all the people of the land. It was in this fourth year of Jehoiakim that Jeremiah boldly foretold the greatness of Nebuchadnezzar's empire, and the wide limits over which it would extend. This prophecy Jer. 25 placed his life in danger, so that "the Lord hid" him and Baruch. When Jeremiah appears again, Nebuchadnezzar was advancing upon Jerusalem to execute the prophecy contained in. In addition, with the death of Jehoiakim, the first period of Judah's history was brought to a close. Though Jeremiah remained with Zedekiah, and tried to influence him for good, yet Jeremiah's mission was over. Jeremiah himself testifies that the people of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Context: Followers of Jesus Christ who possess a divine calling, talents, and gifts to work and serve God through specific voluntary or paid vocations in the workplace face daily opportunities to impact the Kingdom of God. When believers walk by faith and obedience in the revelation that God's divine presence and purpose is with them daily in their work lives, God empowers them to lead change that can transform lives, businesses, and even nations. Believers clearly see this truth in the lives of Abraham, Joseph, Daniel, and Nehemiah. The Great... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many marketplace leaders express a desire to have greater impact for God in the workplace, but their view and understanding of Kingdom ministry hinders them. The common belief that sacred is separate from secular is pervasive among marketplace believers. This view is detrimental to the advancement of the Kingdom. Contrary to this belief, Scripture represents a holistic approach, which views work as worship with all believers as one–of–a kind ministers of God's grace in the context in which He places them. A deficient understanding of the importance of a God–given calling to serve the Kingdom in a marketplace vocation weakens a believer's perspective and witness as he or she seeks to engage with unsaved humanity. Also, many Spirit–filled marketplace ministers lack hope and faith that the gifts of the Spirit will operate through them in workplace contexts. The present state of corruption, greed, and moral failure among leaders in corporate America bears witness to the need for the Church to more effectively engage in the marketplace. Informed and relevant equipping and empowering of workplace believers by knowledgeable church leaders can help direct God's followers toward this goal. Greater and more industrious works of service are possible through increased communication and collaboration between church and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Religious Revival of the 1950s After Americans endured two decades of continuous depression, war and crisis through the 1930's and 40's, they sought a return to normalcy and longed to focus on the more private details of existence. Instead of national objectives, the public concentrated on family, home, and career, while becoming increasingly absorbed in religion. As the 1950's saw America in a state of national exhaustion, religion–in–general experienced a surge in popularity. Many critical views were silenced or ignored as people became more accepting of a wide variety of beliefs. While the revival was unexpected and unstructured, several events fueled the movement. World War II left the country weary and drained. During the four seemingly–endless years of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Catherine Wood Marshall also wrote a book offering realistic insight and moral inspiration. Women were contributing more directly to public life in the 1950's, and when her husband, minister Peter Marshall, died, she gathered his journals and sermons to publish A Man Called Peter. Not only were women writing religious books, but Post–war America saw women entering the ministry. Women had made up the majority of members in church congregations for centuries, but few denominations had recognized them as leaders before the 50's. Conservative churches limited leadership to Bible studies and social programs, but many major denominations joined the Quakers and Pentecostals in ordaining them as ministers. With an endless reserve of new students and a thriving economy to fall back on, theological schools flourished. Seminaries and other Bible–based schools saw record enrollment. New faculty was added and new areas of study were introduced into the curriculum. Most of these schools became part of the evangelical enterprise, with traveling ministers or radio broadcasts, like those of the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. These schools sought to guide the church leaders of the future while also creating a positive public image for evangelism and religious education. With these new advancements in the Protestant and Catholic churches, also came the growth of other religions. A network called the "Beat ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
