When it comes to education, it is generally agreed that money matters. What is not as apparent are questions like: In what ways does money matter?
How does money impact the achievement and opportunities of the students? Are there predictable affects of increasing or decreasing spending in a

Next, I observed the standards, differentiated instruction, and the phonemic and phonics lessons in the class. The essential questions and standards are
listed in the front of the classroom but are never referred to. I think that differentiation is a big part of this class, especially because of the number of
students with individualized education plans. During lessons, the entire class will meet around the rug for instructions and introductions. After the class
is given instructions, most students will work independently and there will be one or two groups that work with Ms. Dunlap or her teacher's aide for

$490–million dollar plan In California there is frequent debate over the performance of public schools throughout the state. It is known that many of
the state's public schools are poorly funded and lay in disrepair. It is also accompanied by bad test scores and underperforming students which is not
necessarily the schools fault. Article one discusses a possible solution with an ambitious $490–million plan to place half of Los Angeles students into
charter schools within the next eight years. Charter schools are publicly financed, independently run and are exempt from some of the rules that govern
other traditional campuses. Details of the plan have yet to be released but the major contributors include the locally based Eli and Edyth Broad
Foundation along with the Keck and Walton Family Foundations and other charter advocates. The proposed plan would create 260 new charter schools

As part of a suburban, middle–class community, I as well as hundreds of other students who are also part of this community receive a proper
education. Consequently, I have never had the experience of living in the city and attending a school that is on the other side of the spectrum: one that
takes advantage of the word "tenure" and deprives students my age and younger of a decent education either because of low funding, subsequent budget
cuts, or a legislation that just does not care. However, thanks to the 2010 Davis Guggenheim documentary, Waiting for Superman, it is no secret that
