2. Bologna is an Italian town of 391 620 inhabitants, it is in Emila-
Romagna.
It is the 7° most populated municipality in Italy.
Home to the oldest University in the world.

3. Known for its towers and long arcades, it has a well-
preserved historic center, one of the largest in Italy.

4. Piazza Maggiore is the main square in Bologna, it is surrounded by the
most important buildings of the medieval city.

5. • It is home to prestigious cultural, economic and political institutions
and of the most advanced exhibition centers in Europe. In 2000 it was
"European Capital of Culture", while since 2006 it has been UNESCO
"City of Music"

6. Bologna has a Mediterranean climate with temperatures up to 24
degrees in summer and 9°C in winter.

7. The 2 most important parks are the historic park of Monte Sole and the
Parco Tozzoni.

8. • The most famous shops are Galleria 49 and Salumeria Simoni.
