GENERAL INFORMATION Barcelona, located at the Mediterranean sea in the very north of the Spanish coast, is one of the sixth-most populous urban area in the European Union after Paris, London, the Ruhr, Madrid and Milan. Barcelona is one of the world's leading tourist, economic, trade fair/exhibitions and cultural-sports centres, and its influence in commerce, education, entertainment, media, fashion, science, and the arts all contribute to its status as one of the world's major global cities
  2. 2. Barcelona has a Mediterranean climate with mild, humid winters and warm, dry summers. December, January and February are the coldest months. Large fluctuations in temperature are rare, particularly in the summer months.
  3. 3. The currency in Barcelona is the Euro. It is distributed in both notes and coins. Notes can be found in 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500-euro denominations and coins start with the 1-cent piece and end with the 2 euro piece
  4. 4. LANGUAGE Barcelona's officials languages are Spanish and Catalan

TOURIST ATTRACTIONS *Montserrant: A beautiful monastery stands at the center of the mountain range where visitors can attend masses that include wonderful live church quires of young men who live at the monastery. *La sagrada familia: La Sagrada familia is a masterpiece in the center of the city of Barcelona. From the outside, visitors are astonished by the sheer height and intricacy of the design of the church and although it is not completed yet, the progress that has been made is incredibly impressive Beaches
  6. 6. *Barcelona beach: Named the #1 Beach City in the world by National Geographic, Barcelona's beaches are world-renowned. Although locals prefer that you do not stroll through the city in beachwear, the beaches themselves have a very open and relaxed atmosphere. *Tibidabo Amusement Park : Located on the Tibidabo hill overlooking the entire city of Barcelona, this is an amusement park focused on kids with priceless views
