2. Five ways to lose valuable marks
• Sloppy spelling, grammar and punctuation
• Videos/photos not correctly sized
• No clear sense of what is happening, when,
how, why and who is involved e.g. your site is
one long muddled ramble…
• Your photos/videos/audio/Thinglink, etc are
NOT embedded
• Your links don’t work
3. WORKFLOW
• DURING the event, you will simply upload as
you go – the emphasis is rough, ready and
LIVE reporting
• AFTER the event, EDIT your site to make it
look as good as possible…don’t skimp on this
– set aside time to sit down as a team
5. Copy editing
• Check for ALL spelling, grammar and
punctuation errors
• Check correct spelling of people’s names,
names of places
6. Copy editing
• Do you need to add in some explanatory text?
• Have you clearly reflected what is happening,
when, where, who is involved, why is it
happening?
• Do your photos and videos need captions?
12. What went wrong with this video? Is it
possible to fix it after the event?
13. Multimedia editing
• You should have a lot of multimedia at the end
– how will you showcase the BEST pieces on
the site in the most prominent positions?
14. Repackaging multimedia
• Are there too many photos or videos?
• How will you choose between them?
• How big should they be on the website?
• Which one should be the most prominent?
16. Repackaging/updating content
• Repackage any content as you see fit, e.g.
does a series of photos go well with a piece of
audio?
• You may consider different ways of presenting
the information you have gathered, for
example would a statistic be a good graphic?
17. Assign tasks in your team
• Copy editing
• Multimedia editing
• Repackaging/updating content
MAKE TIME TO DO ALL THIS PROPERLY TO INCREASE
YOUR CHANCES OF A GOOD MARK….
