1. Ambition
• As soon as Shelley, Katie and I got matched up we
automatically bounced off each other not only for ideas about
the plot, but ideas about
locations, characters, editing, camera movements and shots.
Our ambition was high from the start. I would say this was
portrayed in our work. Our film had many shots that other
members of my media class didn’t incorporate in their work.
We only broke barriers on our blogs. Shelley and Katie
managed to rewrite the codes on blogger so that they have
drop down menu’s. I managed to do this as well, but I later
changed my site of origin form blogger to wix.
• Drop down menu
2. Skills and experience
• I am thankful I was paired with Shelley and Katie
as they each bought skills I didn’t have into the
group. Katie had great director skills and knew
what she wanted to achieve and by when. She
also was gifted at editing the footage we
captured on final cut pro. Shelley also bought in a
number of skills. Shelley is very talented digitally.
Like me, she takes graphic design and has a
reputation for being the best artist in my sixth
form. This is why Shelley and I wanted to focus on
the ancillary tasks between us; because of our
experience and talents.
3. Permission
• Early on in the project, I E-mailed TFL and
Southern rail for permission to film in and around
their travel facilities. They later responded and
told Shelley, Katie and I that we could free of
charge, we just needed to tell authorities around
the facilities what we were doing and that we had
already gained permission. This process was easy
and proved to be effective as we were stopped
while filming at a train station by a guard. We told
him what TFL had told us and later said it was fine
to carry on filming.
4. Eqipment
• At school we have had a newly regenerated
media department, with all new industry
standard hardware and software. We were aloud
to use whatever we needed for filming and
editing. This proved to be vital for the quality of
our work as there is no way we could have found
or funded these facilities ourselves. We used a
range of hi-tec equipment including: Boom
microphones, tripods, Cannon 550D DSLR
camera’s, apple Ipod touch, Macbook’s and
mac’s, Adobe CS5 collection, Final cut pro, sony
vagas and more.
5. Teachers and feedback
• Shelley, Katie and I picked the knowledge form
pour teachers constantly throughout the
project, not only this but we constantly asked
them for ways to improve our products. We also
asked and gained a lot of information from other
sixth formers, peers, class mates, neighbours and
family son that we could recognise their opinion
and later change our products for the better. To
me the feedback we receive was invaluable and
developed our products to a higher standard then
I anticipated.
