It was done during internship with Perbadanan Putrajaya as A Mini Project (asssigned to all intern, just different topic).
For me, this is the topic I'd select.
Determination of antibacterial activity of various broad spectrum antibiotics...
Water Quality Incidents in Putrajaya Lake and Wetland (2010 - Apr. 2015)
1.
2. Introduction
Putrajaya lake and wetland are planned for recreation, fishing,
water sports and water transport.
Incidents : Occasionally happens
Upon observation, any event of pollution or drastic deterioration
of the lake/wetland condition is informed by field sampling
team.

Total Incidents/year
Generally, the trend for the incidents occur each year increases from 2010 to 2014,
while for 2015, the trend inclined as the record about incidents in 2015 are only
prepared until April. The highest number of incidents occur is in 2014 followed by
2015, 2011, 2013, 2012, and 2010.

12. How development project causes many incidents?
Improper management of sewage especially from the mobile toilets for
the project workers could also leak into ground and finally into wetland
and lake. Sewage contains high nitrogen and ammonia. These nutrients
would be high in the water and promote algae bloom. Besides, sewage
also contains high E. coli, this make the Putrajaya Lake have very high E.
coli. Management and maintenance for the water need to be done
regularly and but costly.
Development project produces chemical and biological wastes
which could directly affect the water quality of lake and wetland
whether through drains or also washed away by rain into the soil
and finally into the wetland and lake. For example, cements and
dye.
13. What about water sports, residences, and restaurants?
Some water sports in Putrajaya Lake and wetland use engine including
Varsity Boat Race Programme. the engine containing oil would leak into
the water especially during the racing. Oil is a kind of pollutant that
would affect the transparency of water and also prevent oxygen from
entering water habitat. In effect, dissolved oxygen would decrease,
more aquatic organisms die, and water become turbid.
As there are more human activities in residences and restaurants,
there are more biological and chemical pollutants even from daily
activities like washing cars and painting. Improper management of
waste from Pasar Tani and Pasar Malam would also flow into lake
and wetland through the drain. Besides, pollutants might come
from improper maintenance of sewerage system of restaurants
and resorts.
