Chain of Fools was released in late 67' and was recorded in Atlantics' New York Recording studio. It was
produced by Jerry Wexler, and engineered by Tom Dowd. Signature elements to the song include Joe Souths
signature guitar playing, the Muscle Shoals Rhythm section and Aretha Franklins powerful vocal
performance. Drums: My drum rerecord feature a mono overhead, a kick out, snare bottom, a close room and

much softer performance, and a lot of frequency content above 10 kHz (possibly due to the Rode mic used, as
well as the modern stock preamp on my home interface). So an eq was used to match the vintage vocal sound
on the recording. Whilst the song was released in both mono and stereo, the stereo version features a use of
LCR panning which includes bass & keys panned to the left, and drums and lead guitar panned to the right.

Reflection Paper I went to Starbucks for my Field Trip and prior to this trip, I made a list of things that I
would like to particularly observe relating to American culture/values. Some ideas included interactions
between American people, gender differences as well as employees attitude. I wanted to examine the ways in
which Americans behave around people or their behavior towards other people. Before the field trip, I had a
few thoughts/assumptions/beliefs about Americans such as I thought Americans were more hostile and
reserved, they usually keep to themselves. However, my assumptions changed after the field trip which will be

Some even started up conversations with the stranger next to them like "How has your day been?" or "the
line's so long!". This suggest goodness of humanity in American values. The politeness, courtesy and
friendliness of people showed me American's authentic/genuine spirit. It made them look more likable and
accommodating. Furthermore, I observed the interactions between male and female and how it relates to
gender differences. I noticed that majority of men were a gentlemen and have manner. For example, a few
men would let women go ahead of them in line when they both arrived simultaneously, being complete
strangers. This showed me equality in society such as how men treat women with care and as well as goodness
of humanity. This could also be form of norm in society in American values as a gentlemen –– courtesy and
politeness. It is our expected perception of masculinity –– what society deems as appropriate behavior for a
"man". The attitudes of the employees particularly put a smile on my face. They were hardworking, took

representation. Many of the topics in my 1950's journals discussed the treatment of women in media during
the fifties. I assumed as another decade passed, women would be portrayed more respectfully and accurately
in many forms of entertainment. I assumed incorrectly. In a majority of what we analyzed, women were still
treated like crap. Haskell Wexler's film, Medium Cool, follows a news cameraman named John Cassellis. This
character makes women look like they are just there for men to walk on and completely disrespect. Not only

to end well. The media, however, said the attack caused a lot of deaths, but it was a means to an end (Two

Have you ever been so tired during the day you need a wake up call? I have and Starbucks gives me an extra
boost of energy to complete my day. Many consumers buy the product thinking it will help you get energy,
find their true love, that it will help your day get better or that it's all natural. It does this by using pathos,
logos and perceived value.
Starbucks uses pathos to get you to buy their product. A recent ad created in 2015 shows two hands holding
two different Starbucks cups. One is clearly a male by the look of his hand and he is drinking Starbucks out of
a beer mug, the other is clearly a girl by her petite hands holding a small coffee cup. It doesn't clearly state that
she found him and they find true love, but the ad says "Here's to the best part of your day." It's saying that
when you drink Starbucks you will have the best day and find love. Another ad that was created in 2014,
shows that there is a tall and a short cup next to each other. They are supposed to represent a female, the short
one, and a male, the tall one. It says at the top of the ad "meet me at Starbucks." This ad is saying that you will
find your true love at Starbucks and making you feel that if you aren't dating anyone you should go there and

I can see that the truth is a mirage. To put it simply, there is a real truth between hundreds of layers of
manufactured truth. The truth I may know at a moment in time will be altered if a second point of view is
added to my truth; the truth is therefore an illusion. What one person may regard as the truth is different from
what another may believe and that is because we absorb specific moments of time based on what we think is
important and that is how memories and truths are created or dare I say, manufactured. In relation to the short
story "In a Grove" by Akutagawa, you can clearly observe this phenomena, as I choose to call it, occur. The
bandit, wife, samurai and witnesses have all chosen to absorb specific moments of this event. The question I
place forward is, is this deliberate or unintentional? Or is this an effect of cognitive biases? There is truth in
the midst of the confessions of the parties, somewhere between the journey to Wakasa, meeting the bandit and

On Tuesday, January 2, 2018, we arrived for our prearranged scheduled meeting at 9: 40 AM, for our planned
10:00 AM, UNUM Field Visit with Ms. Veronica Alvarez at the Starbucks coffee shop, located at 11979
Garvey Ave. El Monte, CA 91732. The Field Representative continue to wait for Ms. Alvarez that she was late
for her 10 o'clock appointment, when she arrived at 10:30 AM, as she exited from a four–door white Kia
compact vehicle. Ms. Alvarez who was recognized from our previous meeting with her on December 19,
2017, when she had refused to provide her statements since she was legally represented was observed driving
the said vehicle. Miss Alvarez was seen exiting the driver side of the car as she walked in a normal gait
towards our direction where we waited for Ms. Alvarez inside the Starbucks coffee shop. We noted that the
vehicle appeared to be a newer vehicle which had a paper rear license plate.
Before Ms. Alvarez met with us at the coffee shop, we noted that she did not ambulate with any walking
devices or walking canes. She did not appear to be in any pain or any discomfort as she had both of her hands
to her side while she swayed back and forth with both of her hands to her side as she walked briskly across the

In the book Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli Stargirl, the main character is a quirky teenage girl. In the middle of the
book, Stargirl started to change into a more popular girl. Stargirl stated to wear regular jeans, sandals, and t–
shirts when she only used to wear dresses. Three reasons why Stargirl should not have changed are you should
not let anyone peer pressure you to be something new, also, you should not let other people speak for you.
Lastly, you do not need other people's approval of yourself. The reason why Stargirl did change was that she

Tom Cruise is one of Hollywood's most recognizable celebrity worldwide and thus a perfect subject to break
down three psychological concepts seen throughout the media. Motivational bias, where people sees what he
wants to see, (1) is the first topic we will cover about Tom Cruise. During the filming of the movie "Mummy"
which was originally scripted as a horror & thriller movie, the leading star Mr. Cruise decided to take over and
change the script to more of an action movie because he personally thought the movie would be not only
better but more successful. Another concept that goes hand in hand with motivational bias is our next topic
about Self–fulfilling prophecy, a prediction that becomes true (2). The Mummy, unfortunately was a box
office flop. Tom Cruise predicted that if he made all these changes to the script and increased the movies

Raymond Carver Narrator
Anyone who has read Raymond Carvers "Cathedral" knows that the narrator is not looking forward or
welcoming his guest into his home. Also, he is not being very sympathetic of what this man's condition that he
lives with is, being blind. The Narrator must learn to be more sympathetic in his life, and should learn from
this experience, with this older bling man. Raymond Carver uses his narrator non–sympathetic ways
effectively throughout the story, developing of the narrator from the beginning to the end, and how the
narrator would not be as effective if he showed sympathy throughout the short story. The narrator fails to show
sympathy throughout the story to show that the man not judge him for what he is, to show the "Its really
something" moment, and to show the problems of the couple underneath what is happening. First, Carver uses
his non–sympathetic narrator effectively throughout the short story, by showing that the blind man can see
more than him sometimes. The narrator says from the beginning that he does not like how this blind man is
coming to visit him and his wife. He knows that that the blind man and his wife have had known each other
longer than the two of them have known each other. Instead of welcoming his wife's old friend, he categorizes
her friend with her past. Showing the narrator is jealous and pity, which then makes you wonder if Robert, the

agree with the fact the Starbucks cared primarily about making money and building more stores. Also, despite

Summary OfThe Yellow Pill Short Story
Sanity is in the mind of the beholder; one man's reality may not be the reality of everyone. This becomes a
sticking point when two men meet in either a psychiatrist's office or in the depth of space in the short story
"The Yellow Pill." Since both men cannot be in reality, the story takes place in a comfortable office based on
evidence from the story. Throughout the story, Mr. Elton talks with Gerald Bocek in his office about the
details of Jerry's crime. It is at the end of each conversation they have in the office that proves them to be on
Earth. Mr. Elton tells the police officers to take Gerald out of his office and back to the mental ward. For
example, after their first conversation Mr. Elton says, "All right, take him away. Bring him back the same time
tomorrow." The two officers pushed him firmly toward the door. The officers taking Gerald out of his office
every time they talk shows that they are on Earth and not in space. Gerald would die immediately if he was
taken outside of a spaceship, because of the lack of atmospheric pressure and oxygen. Gerald also comes back
into Mr. Elton's office each day which means he couldn't have died in space, which would be caused from
leaving a spaceship every time Mr. Elton and him talk. In the story Mr. Elton is discussing the problems about
Gerald Bocek with Helena, but before they had started talking Gerald had told Mr. Elton to take a pill and that
nothing bad would happen. During Mr. Elton's conversation with Helena he says, "I took one three years ago
when they first became available. You'd be surprised how little you actually see of what you look at, especially
of people. You look at symbols instead. I had to cancel my appointments for a week." Mr. Elton is proving that
the pills blurred his sense of reality. This shows that the pills cause hallucination and the reality Gerald is
living in is a messed up reality, furthering the argument for why they are on Earth. Towards the end of the
story after Mr. Elton has taken the yellow pill and Gerald ejected himself from what they considered the
airlock. When Gerald had ejected himself it is described as, "Jerry's chest quickly expanded, then collapsed as
a mixture of phlegm and blood dribbled from his

There he was, standing in the middle of a blazing fire. This was no ordinary fire, it was a deadly. The alarms
