Evaluation Task 1 - In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?<br />-409575197485001<br />This first frame shows the production logo that I created using Adobe after Effects. It is not a traditional thriller film logo as it does not have the creepy effect that builds up a bit of tension. <br />-4095752921000This first shot shows the credits before the movie coming in. It says Produced by Luke Moy being myself. It is a bit unusual to most thriller openings as it has the rain background. This makes my thriller opening look like a crime movie. Although there is something about this first frame that is different from most thriller films. The yellow writing is not a typical colour that you associate with thriller movies as it does not have that creepy effect that red does but I thought that the two colours worked together well. As you can see from the image that the first credit starts off in the top right hand corner. <br />-40957520510500<br />The third frame shows the start of the thriller opening. It is my scenery shot to inform the audience where the opening is actually taking place. My location was South Norwood Lakes which has a lot of forestry which is quite common in thriller films. The fact that the tree are dying and all brown add to the creepy effect. <br />-409575-381000The fourth frame shows a long shot of the protagonist coming into the shot. The character is listening to his headphones without a care in the world and this makes him look vulnerable. There is not really any special effects used accept to just cut the footage. From this shot I went into a mid shot. This is common of thriller films to introduce the antagonist in the opening and normally they end up being the victims of some sort of crime. <br />-41021011557000The fourth frame shows the protagonist walking to the other end of the park. The difference in this shot is that I go it form a different angle. I decided to use a long shot to start off with and the nearer he gets to the camera the more it became a close up. This again is common of thriller openings. The antagonist walking through the park. Again he looks vulnerable and nervous. <br />-64770027114500<br />The fifth frame again shows the protagonist from behind. I decided to show him walking away as he looks vulnerable and like he is not expecting anything. It looked effective the fact the further he walked away the smaller he got. From this image you see it is a long shot. <br />-6000757683500In the sixth frame it shows the protagonist looking at his phone. He receives a message from an unknown caller saying watch your back your next. The character looks very scared when he receives the message and shakes his head looking around to see if anyone is watching him. This is a typical convention of a thriller opening because the antagonist identity is kept a secret which keeps the audience guessing for the rest of the movie. This is similar to the scene in seven when the inspector receives an unknown call from the killer. <br />-64770024384000<br />The seventh frame shows the character starting to run away knowing that someone is following. It starts of as a mid-shot until he runs past the character and then it goes into a long shot. It shows how long how worried the character is when he starts running off. This is conventional of a thriller film as the character starts running off when being chased by an unidentified character. <br />-64770021082000<br />The eight frame shows the antagonist hiding in the bush watching the protagonist. I decided to use a point of view shot to show the audience what the protagonist see’s and put them in the shoes of him. This engages the audience and makes them feel involved but also wondering who he is. This is another convention of thriller movies because the protagonist is kept a secret much like the thriller film jaws where the shark is kept secret at the start. <br />-64770041338500<br />In the ninth Frame it shows the protagonist turning around once he has realised the antagonist is about to get him. I tried to get that image of where the protagonist turns around to see his killer. This is typical of a thriller film. An example of where that is done to perfection is in harpers island when Sully turns around to see John Wakefield who turn out to be his killer. <br />
