INT. RESTAURANT – EVENING
DON SILESI is sitting at a small table with two chairs in
a dark, private part of the restaurant. There are two
glasses, cutlery and a candle on the table.
INTERCUT between Don Silesi pulling a cigarette out of
his pocket and going to light it and CARMINE PADRONE
walking towards the table.
CARMINE PADRONE
You disrespect me by interrupting my daily self-reflection and
now you disrespect me even more by sitting here and smoking in
my face? You’ve got a death wish Silesi. You know who I am.
Don Silesi puts the lighter down and takes the cigarette
out of his mouth.
DON SILESI
I don’t have a death wish and I don’t think Mrs White did
either, but you killed her anyway.
CARMINE PADRONE
You ain’t got nothing on me, everyone knows I never get my
hands dirty. I didn’t kill anyone.
Don Silesi pushes everything on his side of the table
onto the floor. Puts his briefcase on the table, opens it
and takes out a long red box. Ambient sound of Don Silesi
taking things out of the box and putting them on the
table.
DON SILESI
I saw you Padrone. The night of the party, did you really
think nobody would notice that you went into the kitchens?
Like you said, everyone knows you never get your hands dirty,
whether it’s killing people or preparing food.
CARMINE PADRONE
(defensive)
4. So I went into the kitchens for a bit, that doesn’t prove
anything, you’re wasting my time.
(CONTINUED)
Don Silesi smiles.
DON SILESI
It’s over for you padrone, don’t worry about the family; I’ll
take care of them.
CARMINE PADRONE
(angry)
There is no possible outcome in which you leave this
restaurant alive. No man shows me this much disrespect and
gets away with it.
Carmine Padrone slams his hand on the table
DON SILESI
No, carmine. This is the only possible outcome. You killed Mrs
White in the kitchen with a revolver. And you know I can prove
it.
Carmine Padrone reaches in to the pocket in his blazer
and prepares to draw.
Don Silesi holds his nerve
Carmine Padrone pulls out a small black envelope. He
opens the envelope and pulls out three cards.
CARMINE PADRONE
Colonel Mustard, in the kitchen, with the revolver. How did
you get it? You never win!
DON SILESI
Well, what can I say boss, I learnt it from the best!
Both men laugh. Carmine Padrone puts his hand out. Don Silesi
shakes his hand.
CUT TO BLACK
