Pastor Joseph Selman sees the Gospel of Grace as incomplete without "The Gospel of the Kingdom". However, I believe that this misses the point and conflates categories.
Jesus preached the "good news of the Kingdom of God" but that in no way is superior to Paul's focus on "the good news of Grace". I dare to say that they are equally complementary scopes of understanding.
My Grace Doctrinal Disagreement with Pastor Joseph Selman
1. My Doctrinal Disagreement with
Pastor Joseph Selman on the
Gospel of Grace as incomplete
without the “Gospel of the
Kingdom”
- Ernest Adewoyin
2. Quote of Contention
• https://youtu.be/QfyHn35FgrY?t=
1708
• “The Gospel of the Kingdom”
• “Because there is a content of the
gospel that needs to be re-
examined.”
• “But I am just telling you that as
much as the Grace message is
good, it only makes sense when it
is incorporated with the whole
truth.”
3. THE GOSPEL OF GRACE VS THE GOSPEL OF
THE KINGDOM – CATEGORY MISTAKE
• The Gospel of Grace as something incomplete in light of the whole
truth?
• Whole Truth = The Gospel of the Kingdom
• An error in Doctrinal Schematic/ Project Scope putting Grace VS
Kingdom
• Category Error/ Mistake = is the logical fallacy when you semantically
take attributes belonging to certain category and ascibing it as if
they belonged to another category.
4. Category Mistake Explained
Dr John Lennox (Christian) Dr Lawrence Krauss (Atheist)
This Photo by Unknown Author is licensed under CC BY-SA This Photo by Unknown Author is licensed under CC BY-NC-ND
5. Two Categories
• Krauss dismisses God’s existence based on
mechanistic explanations
• Lennox calls out his Category Error/ Mistake
• Example: Why is the water in the kettle boiling?
• Category Answer 1: Electrical Energy to Heat
Energy Vibrating atoms
• Category Answer 2: I want a cup of tea
6. Kettle and Tea
Analogy
• Category Answer 1 = Category
Answer by Mechanisms
• Category Answer 2 = Category
Answer by Existential Intentions
• Is one category Higher than the
other?
• Or do they stand independent,
complementing each other?
• To say that the Gospel of Grace is
incomplete without the Gospel of
the Kingdom misses the point
7. The African/ Nigerian Relationship Culture VS
God’s Kingdom Relationship Culture
• Gospel of Grace intolerable by Nigerians/
Africans
• Phantoming God as EXTREMELY Good, Kind,
Gentle, Tender-hearted etc … seems foreign to
some people
• Also among Calvinistic & Baptist paradigm
• Paul Washer https://youtu.be/uuabITeO4l8
8. Befriending Authorities
• Fear and Trembling – Philippians 2:12
• Two types of fear e.g. Seeming Contradiction in Exodus 20:20 KJV
• “And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and
that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not.”
• Main Point = Linguistic Context Matters
• Social Model Context of Most Nigerians/ Africans don’t know how to befriend
authorities
• Friendship = Equality
• Authority = Inequality
9. Friends
With God
Does God want us to be Friends? Yes
• Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant
knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called
you friends; for all things that I have heard of my
Father I have made known unto you. _John 15:15
KJV
You are My friends if you do what I
command you. _John 15:14 KJV
• Contextual Command = Love One another as I have
loved you
Loving Like Jesus = Friend of Jesus
10. Scope of Equality with God
• Not equality in Essence with the Eternal Trinity
• Not equality in (personal) identity e.g. Pantheism or
Panentheism
• EQUALITY IN DISPLAY OF LOVE
• E.g. Twins have equality in facial display but not
equality in personal-identity
• Jesus has equality in essence with the Father but not
equality in identity
• “Whoever has seen me has seen the Father” (John
15:7-11) – what kind of equality is that?

11. God’s Foreign Relationship
Cultural Models
The Greater than the Greatest
desires EXTREME intimacy with
you
• If any man come to me, and
hate not his father, and mother,
and wife, and children, and
brethren, and sisters, yea, and
his own life also, he cannot be
my disciple. _Luke 14:26 KJV
The Greater than the Greatest
desires to REASON/ ARGUE/
DEBATE with you irrespective of
your sinful state
• Come now, and let us reason
together, saith the LORD:
though your sins be as scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they be red like
crimson, they shall be as wool.
_Isaiah 1:18 KJV
• Produce your cause, saith the
LORD; bring forth your strong
reasons, saith the King of Jacob.
_Isaiah 41:21 KJV
Allah hates questions that lead to
apostasy
• O you who have believed, do
not ask about things which, if
they are shown to you, will
distress you. But if you ask
about them while the Qur'an is
being revealed, they will be
shown to you. Allah has
pardoned that which is past;
and Allah is Forgiving and
Forbearing.A people asked such
[questions] before you; then
they became thereby
disbelievers. _Surah 5:101-102

12. God’s Relationship Cultural Models (Contd.)
• The Greater than the Greatest wants you to Command Him
• Thus saith the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker, Ask me of things to come
concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands command ye me. _Isaiah
45:11 KJV
• Don’t disrespect God
• But don’t let your respect drive you away from His desired relationship with you
• Take God as His exact words
• Equal in Friendship, Unequal in Authority
• Just like marriage
• Just like the God head (John 14:28)
13. Focus on God’s Love For You –
Not on Your Love For God nor
for Others
14. Humility
• Andrew Murray’s book:
https://amzn.to/3h2fYYA
• C. S. Lewis’ Quote
• “not thinking less of yourself but thinking
of yourself less”
• Andrew Murray’s Quote
• “Humility is nothing but the
disappearance of self in the vision that
God is all.”
This Photo by Unknown Author

15. Two Dimensions of Christian Obedience
• Obedience to works
• Obedience to the Faith/ Belief
• Focusing ALL on Jesus and
NOTHING on self would make one
not take the right actions???
Really???
• "But we all, with open face
beholding as in a glass the glory of
the Lord, are changed into the same
image from glory to glory, even as by
the Spirit of the Lord." _2 Corinthians
3:18 KJV
• Beholding/ Focusing on Jesus 99%
and 1% of self is a failure in God’s
eyes.
“…its not that being a
Christian is hard or
difficult. Being a Christian
is supposed to be
violently IMPOSSIBLE…”
16. Obedience to The Faith
The Obedience Jesus wants
•28Then said they unto him, What shall
we do, that we might work the works
of God? 29Jesus answered and said
unto them, This is the work of God,
that ye believe on him whom he hath
sent. _John 6:28-29 KJV
The way you “believe” is the
way you will “live”.
Faith with no action = Not
enough faith (or little faith)
Jesus said to some, “Oh ye of
little faith”
Jesus said to some, “Thy faith
hath made thee whole”
Jesus said only to two, “Great is
thy faith”
17. GREAT IS THY FAITH
The Centurion
• Soldier
• Respects Authority
• Man
• Jesus Obliging to heal his servant
• Jesus respected
The Syrophoenician Woman
• Civilian
• Doesn’t respect Jesus to not
disturb him
• Woman
• Jesus playing hard to get to heal
her daughter
• Jesus even called a dog
Two people Jesus said “Great is thy faith”
18. What
makes faith
great?
What did they have in common?
They were both ignorant of the Law (Spiritual Dead
Works Formalities) but they were FULLY AWARE OF
JESUS
The Law demands from bankrupt humans making us
focus on our imperfections and shortcomings thereby
creating cursed vicious cycles of failures and disgraces
The Grace of Jesus supplies to bankrupt humans making
us focus on His perfections and satisfactions thereby
creating blessed vicious cycles of successes and graces
19. Focusing on Jesus Alone
Thus far, we’ve seen that focusing
on Jesus alone makes you
• Humble (Andrew Murray’s
Book) https://amzn.to/3h2fYYA
• Translate from Glory to Glory –
2 Corinthians 3:18 (Pastor E.A.
Adeboye Teaches that the
opposite of Glory is Shame)
• Have GREAT FAITH (Centurion &
Syrophoenician Woman)
But what happens when you
don’t focus on Jesus?
• And even as they did not like to
retain God in their knowledge,
God gave them over to a
reprobate mind, to do those
things which are not
convenient; _Romans 1:28 KJV
• 1% focus on self = 1% reprobate
mind
• 1% reprobate mind = hell fire
20. Conclusion on
Focusing on
Jesus
• Do not focus on your love, focus on Jesus’ Love
• Do not focus on your righteousness, focus on Jesus’ Righteousness
• Do not focus on your obedience, focus on Jesus’ Obedience
• Advertisers in this Attention Economy know about the Psychology of
focus
• The more you focus on adverts, the more you find yourself
subconsciously doing what they want you to do
• The degree of your total focus on Jesus is directly proportional to the
degree of your Total Obedience to Him.

22. The Narrative
Ananias and Sapphira died in the New Testament which was supposed to be an era of
Grace.
This begins from Acts 4:32 where all the believers were “one in heart and mind”.
There was no needy person among them in the First Church.
from time to time those who owned lands or houses sold them, brought the money from
the sale and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone as he had need.
23. Understanding Business
Operational Models
In Business, you are
aware of two important
things
• The Strongest Link
• The Weakest Link
Weakness of early
church’s operational
model = “Honesty and
Sincerity” of believers
Were Ananias and
Sapphira “one in mind
and heart”? No
This means that they
were fake Christians
24. Ananias and Sapphira’s
Scam
The same hearts that can lie in an atmosphere of genuine honesty,
sincerity, kindness and charity, is the same heart that can lie and take
advantage of the early church.
This is a warning to people who want to scam sincere churches, Your
punishment from the Holy Ghost will be swift and merciless.
God has no obligations under the new covenant to protect fake-
Christians out to harm a genuine Church
If Pastor Selman is wondering why God killed Ananias and Sapphira
because they were Christians, I say they were pretending to be
Christians
26. Divine Foreign Relationship
Model
Jesus equates “work of God” to “believing in Jesus” (John 6:29)
Jesus’ relationship model is strange to the African/ Nigerian/ Earthly
mindset. The Greater than the Greatest wants you to:
• Be His Friend?
• Be His Bride?
• Spiritually Cannibalise on Him?
Failure to achieve the above means that you have no part/ portion in Him
AT ALL. That is hell fire.
It is a great error to psychologically project your earth-style relationship
models into the heaven-style relationship model with Jesus
27. Doctrinal
Sentiments
on “Works
Perspective”
5 out of the 7 Churches in the Book of Revelations in the Bible
got the “I know your works” comment out of Jesus.
4 out of those 5 got a good positive association with the “I
know your works”.
I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how
thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried
them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found
them liars: _Revelations 2:2 KJV
Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour
of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the
sight of God and our Father; _1 Thessalonians 1:3 KJV
28. INNER WORK
VS OUTER
WORK
• God’s Paradigm of human work is of the heart
• Human’s Paradigm of human work is of outward
display
• God sees all human works as “Dead Works” or
“Filthy Menstrual Rags”
• There is NOTHING you can outwardly display in
works that can please God
• But without FAITH (not works), it is impossible
to please God
• Four Places in the Bibles repeats, “The Just Shall
Live By Faith” (Romans 1:17,Galatians
3:11,Hebrews 10:38, Habakkuk 2:4)
29. What Faith/ Believing does
• From the 4 places the bible repeats about “The Just Shall Live by
Faith”:
• Faith Justifies you
• Faith reveals the “righteousness of God” not the “righteousness of
man”. Understand the Rhema of Jehovah Tsidkenu (The Lord my
Righteousness) don’t be God to yourself by trying to reveal your
righteousness – (Jeremiah 23:5-6, 33:15-16)
• Faith-disobedience makes you proud
• Drawing away from faith-obedience displeases God
30. Spirit of Pornography REBELLION and
“I will never feel guilty, I am the
righteousness of God in Christ Jesus”
31. Do Guilty Feelings help you stop sinning?
• Does God want us to have an evil/ guilty
conscience over ANYTHING? No
• Let us draw near with a true heart in full
assurance of faith, having our hearts
sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our
bodies washed with pure water. _Hebrews
10:22 KJV
• Focus on Jesus, not on your sin
• Psychologists know about the Addiction Cycle
• Guilt = Fixing your eyes on your nakedness and
inadequacies
32. Heaven’s
Culture VS
Earth’s
Culture
this earthly (African) culture of beating up yourself and
thinking you will change is not the heavenly culture
Heaven’s culture of leading you to repentance
• “Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and
longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to
repentance?” _Romans 2:4 KJV
Heaven’s Culture of Constraining or Compelling you not to sin
• For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one
died for all, then we're all dead: _2 Corinthians 5:14 KJV
Heaven’s Culture of educating us not to sin
• 11For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
12Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live
soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; _ Titus 2:11-12 KJV
33. Earthly (African) Culture Trying to Twist
Scripture & Doctrine
• Does Not Having Guilty Conscience = More and More sinning?
• Does Having Guilty Conscience = Education of Righteousness? (Insight Fallacy)
• When worldly people have no guilty conscience = Psychopaths and Sociopaths
• When True Christian people have no guilty conscience = Obedience to the faith (Jesus
righteousness Consciousness, ie, Jehovah Tsidkenu, not I-am-my-Tsidkenu)
• But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and
the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. _1 John 1:7 KJV
• People-of-light sin but the blood of Jesus presently, continuously cleanses us per
second, per second
34. Why Stone Paul or Behead
James if their Sermons were
pleasant?
35. John 16 Exegesis
And ye shall be hated of all men for my
name's sake: but he that endureth to
the end shall be saved. _Matthew
10:22 KJV
And when He has come, He will convict
the world of sin1, and of
righteousness2, and of judgment3:
_John 16:8
of sin1, because they do not believe in
Me1; of righteousness2, because I go
to My Father and you2 see Me no
more; of judgment3, because the ruler
of this world3 is judged. _John 16:9-11
36. Satan Moves
People Against
the
Pleasantness of
the Gospel
(Gospel means
Good News)
• Do you see there are 3 players here?
• Player 1: The world = convicted of sin
• Player 2: You (righteous believers) = convicted
of righteousness
• Player 3: Satan, the ruler of this world =
convicted of judgement
• And this is the condemnation, that light is
come into the world, and men loved darkness
rather than light, because their deeds were
evil. _John 3:19 KJV
• But to him who does not work but believes on
Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is
accounted for righteousness, _Romans 4:5
38. The Only Gospel = The Gospel of Grace
• The gospel of the kingdom does not supersede the gospel of grace – that’s a Category
Mistake
• Pastor Joseph Selman’s version of “Gospel of the Kingdom” casts doubt on the Gospel of
Grace by using the yardstick of “fakers” and “earthly cultural projection”
• 6I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ
unto another gospel: 7Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and
would pervert the gospel of Christ. 8But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach
any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be
accursed. 9As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel
unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. 10For do I now persuade men,
or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant
of Christ. _Galatians 1:6-10 KJV
39. It is by Grace we are saved, not of works
Does Grace please men
by making them not
guilty about their sins?
Or Does Grace please
God by making men
justified in the
righteousness of Jesus?
Gospel of Grace = Only
Gospel
Doubly Cursed people
preach other gospels
Making you a candidate
of judgement like
Ananias and Sapphire
in this Grace era
Paul’s reaction to
Pastor Selman would
mean Paul would be
very angry to the point
of throwing curses
Pastor Selman does not
preach “works based
salvation” to heaven
But Pastor Selman is
creeping in “works
based salvation” from
sin
Salvation has a “to” and
“from”. We are saved
“from” sin and saved
“to” Jesus.
40. God’s Grace vs Man’s Grace = Totally Different
1What shall we say then? Shall we continue
in sin, that grace may abound? 2God forbid.
How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any
longer therein? _Romans 6:1-2 KJV
For non-fakers, it does not compute that the
formula of God’s Grace (not to be confused
with man’s Grace) will make us continue to
make a practice of sin
For sin shall not have dominion over you: for
ye are not under the law, but under grace.
_Romans 6:14 KJV
